Stay away from their lipsticks. I checked the ingredients…They contain Carmine (made from dried, ground-up red beetles) and parabens. Not sure if you want to put these ingredients so close to your mouth.

Wow, grounded up red beetles? I always stay away from parabens, but never knew about Carmine.

Shelly — it’s not only Avon (I looked up MAC lipstick ingredients, just for sn example; it also uses carmine) — Any makeup with reddish colouring may use the ground-up beetles — also called cochineal — *** it also may be in some juices and yogourt, ice cream and candy, some liqueurs, fake crab and lobster, marachino cherries, some cheeses, etc..
BUT at least it’s natural, right?

It’s also called Crimson Lake, Cochineal, Natural Red 4, C.I. 75470, or E120 and it’s used everywhere from the food you eat to the makeup you use. Look up l’Oreal ingredients and I think you’ll find it used in their lipstick, mascara…
