I'm a travel agent, and I can tell you that this isn't that amazing of a deal.
The best place to look for discounts is Orbitz - they often have coupons for $100 off, $75 off, $200 off, etc, mostly on 5+ night stays, but there are plenty usually for $50 off a 3 night stay. That's about double the $$$ of the Expedia.ca promotion.

I didnt post any prices of trips I posted that there offering a $50 dollar gas card and a 25 dollar gas card, tons of people book with them so I thought i'd pass it along.
This promo isnt for money off a trip its for gas cards

But with the money you save off of your trip using other sites and coupon codes for the same hotel stay, you'd have paid $50 less, which could be use to buy $50 worth of gas cards (but now I'm getting into semantics).

Some people only use expedia, so I was passing this along.
I ended up booking my hotel directly with the hotel.
