Brother Canada is offering a $60 rebate for this printer, which sells on amazon.ca for $58.99! You also get FREE SHIPPING. So all you end up paying in the end is the taxes, which would be about $7. Pretty good for a $60 printer!

Why would everyone want a label printer? Just because it’s free?
The Brother PT-80 P-touch Electronic Labeling System is also “free” with MIR but there’s S&H unless you purchase an additional $11 of stuff such as the “free label printer”.

anyone have any coupon codes, extra discounts, or anything to save even more?
Thanks, this will be great for my Tupperware business!
If you how expensive those blank labels are, probably you’ll have a second thought and save the hassle.
you ^ know ^ how
It says if it’s purchased from an participating retailer. Where can we find the list of them. I know it says that Best Buy, Costco, Future Shop and Staples/Business Depot are NOT participating retailers. Is Amazon.ca considered participating?
This is a great deal! I’m going to wait a bit because I have confidence in Cheapskate101 finding a coupon code 😉
Heather has a good point. I’d like to know too!
Darn, it’s not Macintosh compatible otherwise I’d be ordering faster than you can say ‘peanut butter sandwich’.
It says it is compatible with: Windows XP Professional / XP Home Edition / 2000
Oh well.
This means nothing to me since I have a PC but it says on the Brother site that the Mac compatibility is OS X 10.3.9 – 10.4.10
Yes, this printer is Mac compatible. It says its compatible with Mac OS 10.3.9 to 10.6 at Brother USA website.
Anyone find a list of the “participating” retailers?
I googled for coupon codes but none of them work….
What good is the coupon? Isn’t it free? So how does it work? Do you pay for it , then send the rebate in?
Well, the mail in rebate coupon does not mention that it cannot be purchased from Amazon Canada. I think Amazon has made a mistake. Most other retailers have this printer advertised for over $100. I bought one today and I’m going to mail the rebate in once I receive the printer. The printer must be purchased by 30 September and the rebate must be mailed in by 31 October.
Too bad its not the one I want that works with Mac.I really need a label maker!
What store are considered “only participating retailers” ? Like a retail store, besides amazon.
I’m nervous that Amazon says it ships within 1-4 weeks… they won’t bill you until it ships, and if that’s after September 30th then you won’t be eligible for the rebate. I guess you could always try cancelling if it hasn’t shipped before then.
Many MIRs are traps, is it? Is Amazon.ca a participating retailer?
amazon rarely/never has coupon codes anymore. and yeah, they could be very likely not a participating retailer. if someone really needs this thing, maybe it isn’t THAT much more $ in-store, then you can check out the rebate info yourself and mail it promptly.
i havent been able to find one…yet
I’m a little scarred on this one. I called the toll free number and they were unable to confirm that amazon.ca was a qualifying retailer or any online retailer for that matter. They provided me with another number to investigate my iquiry further, and the number was out of service. Be careful.
I’m too worried that it might not work to try this…
Grand & Toy has the mail-in rebate form embedded directly in the Web page that lists the Brother QL-570. However, the cost on grandandtoy.com is $123.59 — way more than what the unit is being sold for on Staples.ca ($59) which might be why Brother won’t give a rebate to any purchase made by Staples. If I have to pay full price for the label in order to qualify for the rebate, I’ll pass on this offer. But thanks for letting us know about it!
I’ve also called the toll free number and they are unable to confirm if amazon.ca is a participating retailer. Furthermore, they don’t even have a list of participating retailers only the ones that do NOT qualify. I’m not sure if I should continue to proceed?
They have it listed in BOLD on their rebate form which stores do not qualify, so they should be forced to honor it. Don’t see how they could refuse, it is their official rebate form….
If you guys really need a printer to print labels, by all means go ahead for it. If not, why risking not getting the rebate but get stuck with something you don’t need?
ACTUALLY THE REBATE FORM SAYS YOUR PRUCHASE MUST BE BETWEEN SEPT. 1ST TO 30TH/09 AND THE REBATE CLAIM MUST BE SUBMITTED BY OCT. 30TH/09. IT SHOULD BE OKAY. REDFLAGDEALS ALSO POSTED THIS DEAL ON THEIR SITE.
I trid it. I need one for some of my Avon books, and it looks like a good deal anyhow regardless. I just really hope it works, because then it would be really sweet! I can’t see trying to order something like this though if I didn’t need it because who’d need it adding to any clutter around the home? Just my thought though!
The “participating retailer” part is a big red flag to me… obviously if Amazon.ca had to sign up to be a participating retailer then they would know the program details, so why would they price it at a price that would make it free to the customer, and why would Brother allow them to do that. A lot of rebates tend to be “at the manufacturer’s discretion” so a bit risky I think in this case.
Hmmm, it looks like the pricing error has been fixed and it’s selling for $105 now 🙁
I guess it’s a good thing I ordered it when I did 🙂
Just went to purchase the printer and found that the price is now $104.99! Guess you had to move a little faster than I did!
It will make a good gift or present to someone who likes to organize and things like that.
FYI: JUST TODAY I CHECKED ON AMAZON’S WEBSITE-THE PRICE IS $65.99. $7 INCREASE BUT COULD STILL BE A GOOD DEAL FOR SOMEONE WHO COULD REALLY USE IT.
So…it was a bad idea to splurge on it the?!!! AHHH!!! Hope it works.
@lbal….its up to $85 now on amazon…i should of gotten it when this was posted but it said would be shipped 1-3weeks….now its showing 2-3day with a huge price increase.
Date de livraison estimée : Oct. 2 2009 – Oct. 20 2009
That’s sucks….
I actually got the rebate cheque of $60… it means I got the printer for only $7, not bad.
Hi, probably our post could be off topic but anyways, I’ve been browsing about your web site and it seems very elegant. It is obvious you know your subject and you appear passionate about it. I am building a new website and I am struggling to make it look great, plus present top quality articles. Having learned a good deal at your website and also I look forward to even more articles and will be coming back soon. Many thanks.
But nice article:) I recommend.
