Bulk Barn: Free $5 Gift Card With $15 Purchase

Bulk Barn

Bulk Barn is offering a free $5 gift card when you make a purchase of $15 or more. This is in effect Wednesday, May 8th and Thursday, May 9th only.

The gift card is redeemable on a future purchase only. This is not quite as good as the usual $3 off $10 coupon, but pretty close.

Well at the end of the day it still works out as 30% off ( though sure the 5$ comes in form of card that can only be used at BB, but still..)

  2. traveller says:

Yes, 30% but you have to fork out $15 instead of $10. Then they get you because you will be coming back to use the gift card at a later date. Clever, eh?

  3. Preety says:

Yeah, you come back, but it’s not like you have to spend a min to use the gift card (which some places make you do). Is it true some people may spend more once in the store? Sure, but that’s not true for all. I still find it better than nothing,

I find it difficult to make the $10 needed to get $3 off at times. Yes they have lots of cool stuff, but their value is only on par with packaged goods in most cases. Worse in some cases!

I’ll have to take a look at the flyer this week. Also its only 2 days this week and my shopping is done on Sat.

At best, this is a 25% savings. If you spend exactly the $15 minimum, get the gift card, return another day and spend exactly $5 and pay using that gift card, you’ve ended up with $20 in product, and you’re out of pocket $15. If you spend more than the minimum, the % savings goes down even more. So, the $3 off $10 coupons that are regularly available in the flyer are a better deal, and you don’t have to spend as much to use them.

I was there when they had their $3 off $10 purchase. They had coconut oil $3 higher than my local health food shop, so what’s to save? I looked and looked but couldn’t find anything I needed at a price that I thought was better than packaged goods. At least packaged goods are guaranteed hygenic.
But there always seem to be brisk lineups whenever I’ve browsed so guess they don’t need my business.

glad this is back… my baby is turning 1 in June. This was really helpful when we were buying for my older sons birthday.
