thanks so much coupon lady... every week I plan my shopping with your posts... I think that is wonderful what you do for all of us and I really appreciate the time and effort you put in weekly to do this.. I am sure you have a hectic life and to think of all the work it takes to help us other SC'ers is just fantastic... thanks again looking forward to see what the sales are this coming week

When you say the coupons were found "in store", did you find them in the store that the sale is listed under, or just in any grocery type store as you were shopping? Just curious.

Thanks! :)

Sam Walton build a great business from scratch & provides alot of jobs...I love shopping at WM & for the most part everyone is very friendly at my local store.
They are in business to make money & keeps the competition on their toes too!
However, has the best deal is where I shop!

A 2004 UC Berkeley study found that over half of Wal-Mart workers earned under $9 per hour, while other large retailers pay $14 on average. As a result, the families of Wal-Mart employees are more likely than other retail workers to need food stamps and other public assistance programs. Usually Wal-Mart must be forced kicking and screaming to pay something like a living wage—as Chicago city council has just done.

Wal-Mart contributes to a low-wage economy in other ways too. Its business practices force suppliers to cut costs, so in turn these firms cut wages. Other retailers (who may not have such influence over their suppliers) are forced to cut the wages they pay to compete with Wal-Mart. Another Berkeley study estimates that in 2000, the total earnings of retail workers in the United States dropped by $4.7 billion due to Wal-Mart’s presence.

Alex, What would you say is a decent wage for working at walmart? this is just a basic retail position and most retail positions pay around the same.

Forbes prints a list of the 400 hundred riches Americans, and how much they are worth. The Waltons, owners of the Wal-Mart company rank numbers four through seven. To understand just how much they, and the company, is worth, first you have to consider that together, the Walton family is worth 79,400,000,000. That’s 79.4 billion folks.
When you hear anyone claim that Walmart can’t afford to give their employees a decent wage, or anything else, you just remember how much the Waltons are making off the backs of their employees
