Who is eli­gi­ble?

Do I have to file my return right away?
No, you can take advan­tage of the offer at any time from Feb­ru­ary 15 until May 1, 2006, and file when­ever you are ready. Remem­ber, tax sea­son ends May 1, 2006, and any returns with taxes due will be assessed penal­ties and inter­est on out­stand­ing bal­ances. For self-employed tax­pay­ers, only inter­est charges apply up to June 15th, 2006.
