I posted about this in August http://smartcanucks.ca/canon-canada-10mp-camera-for-50-off-limited-quanities/ the huge drawback is that it runs on double a’s. AKA battery eaters. I would honestly spend the extra and upgrade to a lithium ion model, saves a ton of money and you get so many more pics before you have to recharge the battery.
I bought this last time they were on. Its a good camera but I dont LOVE it. I find the batteries last quite a while. I used dollar store batteries and they lasted way over 100 pics. They are still in the camera now but they are dying. I’ll put in my rechargables for my halloween pic tmrw:)
But when you compare that to a few thousand shots potentially thats the huge downfall.
I actually forgot my p and s in the truck on vacay and only had my dslr so I picked up a 12.2mp 5x Samsung with the li battery for 89 bucks reg 169 in the States and its really excellent for the price.
This looks like a good deal for a P+S though. I always use rechargables in Cameras. Fuji’s last for AGES — I’ve got an S6500FD bridge camera and can get an easy 400 shots from AA’s. I do always carry spare batteries though, just in case.

I have this camera — bought couple years ago — takes great pics and I use rechargeable batteries and always have spare rechargables on hand so never run out.
