I’ve used interac online before and noticed they had a service fee. You may want to check that out first and take it under consideration. I’ve since reverted back to credit card…

A service fee of $1.50 applies to Interac Online transactions” is specific to my banking establishment, you may want to look at your banking website first. Even though it’s convenient I just refuse to pay the extra fees (which I thought were included with my banking plan) but were not.

Thank you! I have no problem incurring a charge for using this service, as I’ve made a decision to go credit card free (keeps me out of trouble). I really hope that other e-tailers take notice and follow suit. This is GREAT news!

I’m wondering how the SmartCanucks 4% cashback from Chapters purchases works? How can I benefit from this … I went to the Cashback page but I’m not sure what I have to do to get the 4% back?

WHY would you use interac online if there’s a fee?

Just go buy a chapters gift card in stores and you can use it online, unless of course, if there’s a promotion that expires soon.

I would really like to know if there are any other stores that use online interac..does anyone know? I will never get a credit card, so that kind of messes up the idea of online shopping.

I’m sure Richie will never read this but hopefully any other future reader will.

The point of using Interac Online as payment regardless of the 1.50 fee per transaction is simply convinience. Just as a credit card is to use for online purchases rather then going to the store, or if you feel what you are purchasing is not available in the area or you wouldn’t have time to pick up locally. Some people would prefer to pay via Interac too ‚having paid directly from the comfort of your home as well as delivery.

Going into the store to buy a gift card (for yourself) to then use online is rather redundant. Though I know you meant well, see it from another point of view. I have a credit card that I use for certain situation I would if possibly prefer to use Interac (my actual funds) over credit anyday.

You got numerous positive points there. I made a search on the issue and found nearly all peoples will agree with your blog.
