Costco says it will open seven locations in Canada next year, 2017, after opening its first business centre this fall.
Business centres are about two-thirds the size of a regular Costco and offer a wider selection of business-oriented merchandise and services — but no consumer products like apparel, toys and bakery items.
Costco said it hasn’t yet decided whether to increase membership fees, as they increase the annual in Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Mexico and the U.K. in September, 2016.
Costco normally increases membership fees every five or six years. The last increase, equal to 10 per cent, took place in November 2011.

I never understood the purpose of having a membership. Do away with a restriction, such as a membership fee, would easily increase revenue.
costco makes their main income on the membership fee not the products that they sell
If you’ve “never understood” it then you clearly weren’t thinking hard enough it’s not hard.
Consider that without a membership fee, all prices would be going up (without a doubt). This is a major profit center for Costco. Where the members win is by shopping there regularly (thus amortizing their membership fees).
does anyone know where in toronto they will be opening the new store?
