Do you wear socks to bed?

Get your mind out of the gutter! I’m talking about sleep.  When you go to sleep at night do you lose the socks or keep ‘em on?  I generally wear socks to bed unless it’s really hot out. My tootsies get chilly very easily.  I’m also a blanket thief and end up uncovering my own feet all the time. I only ever wear ankle socks though, socks that are any higher annoy me.  My husband is the opposite. He cannot sleep with socks on at all.

Socks or no socks?

I started wearing socks at night recently (only in winter) and it is so comfortable as my feet get cold easily. Most of the time although when i wake up, i have to find one of the socks in the blanket ;)

Always the fun questions… socks and lotion when I get crocodile feet in the hope of reversing the situation.

Never! And I have to waer shorts, no pants! Don’t like my pants getting all twisted while I sleep!

I read once that wearing socks to bed helped one sleep better. I didn’t believe it but figured I had nothing to lose. Turns out it really does. Now come summer there is no way I am wearing socks to sleep.

No socks for me, It doesn’t matter how cold it is outside mt feet are always always hot. It’s a faimly trait lol I could never wear socks to bed, I just get annoyed

Only when my feet are freezing cold (usually when camping!). I can’t focus on sleep when I am trying to warm up my feet! I would say maybe 30 days out of the 365 days haha.

socks to bed. yuck, disgusting. I couldn’t stand it! and yes.. I’ve tried

I love this question. Anyone I have EVER had a sleepover with have always commented how it is weird, and some have even tried to force me to take them off–but I won’t! My feet feel exposed unless I wear socks to bed :)

Socks in bed? long pants or top? NO way a torture, I have not even tried them, unthinkable, unimaginable, I just can’t sleep!!! The strange thing is that I fall asleep often fully clothed with even my shoes on, in bed, on the couch, in the car??? I think is the old age, no offense, though.

I have just started. Wool no less. I have poor circ. and it helps keep them warm. I was in the hospital for a week without socks and it was tough. The weird thing was that the doctor noticed my feet didn’t feel cold when I was complaining of such. I had a girlfriend once that considered it very unattractive to wear such things to bed. I told that at least I took my runners off…

sometimes.…depends on how cold I am.…but like others, by the time my morning comes, they tend to be thrown across the other side of the room. I used to wear them all the time but then I started getting REALLY hot feet in the summer time that socks were omitted from my regular routine.

Almost every night! If I don’t wear socks to bed, I shiver throughout the night! Except in the summer.

  13. Natalka

No socks to bed, even at –40 — and socks in general as little as often; I feel suffocated by them!
Husband is my foot and body warmer, if need be.

  14. Valerie

I have to wear my special mohair sock and then I will fall asleep.

  15. Nayya

No socks! Tho I always put a folded blanket over the feet when putting the sheets on the bed so it keeps my feet warm ^_^!

Not usually socks to bed. A few years ago, my toes would get excessively cold and I would wear ankle socks to bed, and like many others, they would slide off by morning. Not quite sure what changed, but in the last couple years, I can’t sleep with socks on, even if it’s really cold under the covers. I’ve used hot water bottles at the foot of the bed to warm up the spot, though.

    Hi,
If my feet are cold, YES to sox! I recall some accidental study by NASA that socks can help you sleep faster because it improves your body circulation and lowers your body temperature thus enabling you to fall asleep faster.

(The NASA study was accidental because the astronauts fell asleep with their socks on and from there, they found out that wearing sox helps!)

In the winter, most nights. I usuall end up kicking them off at some point throughout the night though! I have quite the stash of socks at the end of my bed!
In the summer however, I never wear them! Too hot with them!

We keep our house much cooler than most people to save on energy. For this reason, socks in bed are a necessity for me, as are slippers in the daytime!

  20. kekes

I have a pair of knitted bed slippers I wear when my circulation to my legs/feet is bad. If I can get my feet warm the rest of me stays warm!

  21. Jen

I have poor circulation in my feet and as a result my feet are always cold–but I just can’t wear socks to bed! Or with shoes, can’t stand that!

The only time I like wearing socks is with sandals, that’s surprisingly comfortable for me. (Plus it means no one can see my feet! I don’t know about anyone else but I HATE seeing other people’s feet… grosses me out!)

  22. saver

i get cramps in my feet if i don’t .…i’m always cold ‘cept in the summer. i know it isnt very sexy however…

  23. Anisa

No socks, but to my husbands dismay I create a foot pocket! where I tuck the blankets under my feet… drives him crazy because I am so short!!

  24. dizzyb

Socks when my feet are cold, otherwise I have trouble falling asleep. No socks if feet are warm.

  25. Denise W

only on the most bitter cold night and if i wake up later, off they go. too warm for me.

  26. tudorchick

i cant have my feet covered. i have t have the blanket off my feet.i hate socks in general and if i didnt have to wear them i wouldnt…i also dont wear bottoms.underwear and a tank and thats it…my husband wears full pants and shirt

  27. crochetlady

I hate wearing socks at any time so definitely no socks in bed.

  28. Patty

Can’t stand socks in bed. I tried but “NOP” it does not work for me. I also need to have my feet off the blanket.…then put them back inside. lol

  29. Ciel

Socks, the terry spa kind with very little elastic, for cold nights are a must along with flannel sheets. Otherwise, there is no sleep and huddling for warmth.

The regular socks tend to have elastic that is too tight for sleep.

  30. jicky

I DO wear socks to sleep!! I usually wear my toe-socks and they keep my feet warm throughout the night. Very seldom will i wear it in the summer.

  31. Amy

I took it off when I go to bed. We already wears socks during the day. Our feet need some time to breathe out when we in bed.
I believe (don’t know if I shouldn’t or not) and was being told from my great grandmama that we will get “blind” if we wears socks in bed, due to the whole feet is being ‘tighted’ and ‘covered’.
Nothing hurt me if I take it off when I’m in bed, right !?
Same theory people, walk on bare feet, right on the top of small stone, since there’s so many nerves under our feet, for being healthier.
