If you haven’t heard of ELF Cosmetics, they are an awesome online makeup site that sells a lot of their cosmetics for $1, $3 studio line and other products for $5-$6. Recently, they really amped up their products by releasing the studio line, which I must say, has some really great products, such as the HD powder, mineral primer, and studio powder brush.

ELF frequently has coupon codes available, where you can get free shipping, and discounted or free products. I recently picked up the HD powder for free, which was awesome.

Right now, you can get a FREE mini makeup collection, which comes with 9 eyeshadows, a cream eyeshadow, bronzer, blush, 10 lip glosses, brow powder, eye liner pencil, duo ended eyeshadow applicator and brush, face brush and lip brush. That’s 27 pieces. Also, this comes in red to celebrate valentine’s day. Please keep in mind this looks big, but it’s quite small in person, it normally sells for $15, there is also a black one available.

To get this free mini makeup collection, use the code “REDMINI” with any $10 or more online order. This offer expires February 14, 2010.

There is also a discussion thread that I have started, where you can discuss product reviews, orders and the current coupon codes with other members.

Too expensive. I just wanted to buy 3 x 4.00 hand creams, and the total came to around 26.00US with all the shipping and customs. So i passed. it’s not worth the free make-up kit.

of course you still have to have shipping, it’s flat rate shipping.

  3. stuffedpandapuppet

Yes, shipping is a flat rate of $6.95 if you pay by PayPal. Also, their best products are within their Studio line. There’s too many to name, but their Studio brushes are wonderful quality and work like a charm.

It website claims flat rate shipping, but when I ordered it mysteriously kept going up and so nicely was not shown on my invoice. They seem shady, and I would never order again.

I think it’s flate rate $6.95 to anywhere in the states, but an extra $8.00 to Canada. Another $5 in customs will apply if your order is over $20, and 6% GST is applied.
It was my first time shopping with them, and it seemed pretty self-explanitory — it was all written on the site.

Thanks Radeyah and stuffedandapuppet! Studio brushes it is! Also the high definition powder got good reviews. Any thoughts?

I usually buy a lot of their clear base coat nail polish
and for $1 I find their eyeshadows to be a good buy :)

Remeber with customs it’s the value of the parcel — so if you are receiving a free gift worth $80. if the value of the parcel is going to be over $100 customs will be more.

i order from this site regularily. i have only ever payed $6.95 for shipping as i always use paypal and i have never paid customs even tho my last order included a previous freebie also worth $80. thanks justine for the great thread and codes!

Yes and ELF does list the value on the packages, even if you get a free product. I ordered one eyeshadow brush ($3) and the hd powder ($6) for free and the value on the box was $9.

So if you planning on making a very large order, you are taking a chance with customs. I am waiting on an order from Jan 2nd still, it was $34 I think it got held up at customs. But all my small orders have some through pretty quick.

I love their studio brushes! Their regular brushes are good as well; I would recommend everything except for the concealer brush in that category. Their nail polishes are a tad runny, but still good for a $1 each. I didn’t like their concealers/foundation since most of them have this orange/sugary scent to them. Their lip glosses don’t last very long, but their lip gloss tins are quite nice in colour and last longer.
