This isn’t the particular site I was thinking of but a good resource nonetheless. It’s got listings for Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Sussex, Whistler, Tsawwasen and more! If I do find that other site, I’ll be sure to post it but do check this one out.
I just wanted to say that our little town (maybe 1500people) has been having these open-air cinemas (ours is called Movies In The Park) and they show great family movies for donation only (the proceeds go to building a seawalk around our town’s oceanfront)..we have been taking the kids for 4 years now, and thoroughly enjoy sitting in our beach chairs or our big blanket with the kids. They also have a little concession where you can get popcorn and snacks and hot chocolate and drinks…It’s really something to enjoy that costs so little but makes big memories with your kids…..I wish now they’d start bringing back the ol’ drive-ins!
Does anyone know if anything like this is avaiable in Kitchener Waterloo? Also, are pets generally allowed?
It depends where it’s being held. I know here they’re in a public area where pets are usually allowed, so there’s no problem.
layniejoy – Waterloo Park is known to do this – last year all I remember is they showed The Bee Movie – I don’t recall it costing any money – perhaps a donation though – and the neighbours did load up their dog with them when they went so I assume pets are generally allowed
Here I found the site from last year – apparently it was every Thursday in July and August

hmm I thought they had seen the Bee Movie – I guess I was mistaken and it was Horton Hears a Who
My husband and I went to see Casablanca at one of these in a smaller park showing… It was so romantic !!! cheezy –i know..hehe
