Valentine’s Day is only a short five days away, and with the final crunch upon us, there will be more and more pressure to deliver and less thought given to how much money we spend. All you have to do is enter the code, LOVE20, at checkout when you purchase a local deal (not a getaway or good) and your discount will be applied. This is a great offer since most of us will probably be combining a dinner, activity and gift of some kind for Valentine’s Day and the Groupon will be able to cover each of these expenses, should you be able to find them on Groupon local deals that is.

For instance, I was able to find a nice restaurant Groupon in Yorkville that was being sold already at 53% off the original value. The restaurant, Salutee Piano Bar, is an Italian venue that is offering three different packages, the lowest being a $27 Groupon for a value of $54.97. The ambiance of this location is perfect for a night on the town with your Valentine, as it is surrounded with sparkling, low hanging chandeliers and a big, warm inviting fireplace. Be sure, however, to read the fine print of your Groupon to find out if they will allow for you to use the Groupon on Valentine’s Day (as some do not).

For the sweet part of your night, Groupon offers a wide range of options to spoil your sweetheart with, including cupcakes, ice cream, or the more fanciful option, macaroons! Groupon was selling a package of either 1-dozen cake pops or macaroons for 58% off their retail value, plus with your extra 20% off you could pick up a dozen sweets for as low as $8.

Groupon also has a wide range of activities, like massage and spa packages, to choose from in their local deals section that would make for an ideal afternoon retreat this Valentine’s Day. Remember that if you are using the promo code for the 3 total uses, that it will have to be applied three separate transactions (as you cannot use it twice in one payment).
