Have you bought off dipwa?

Have you dipwa’ed? I recently was pointed out to this site that seems to be the equivalent of woot (USA only)

So I thought i’d check it out Dipwa because its the same idea, one deal, one day as woot. It doesn’t look to shabby, although the pictures of the actual items leave something to be desired. I’m an organized picture person, as in even on my ebay auctions I like to see the item for sale and only the item, not clutter or background items.

Anyways In the FAQ I grabbed this for those of you who aren’t clear on the ”woot” concept.

”Dipwa is a “One Deal, One Day” shopping site that serves only Canadians. Each day we will feature one item at a steeply discounted price so that our customers can enjoy great savings. Our aim is to bring the popular American shopping experience of “Woot.com” to Canadians. At Dipwa, we understand how offthetruck.com and razzle.ca have let Canadian shoppers down. It is our mission to not repeat their mistakes in our endeavour to serve you better.”

Im interested in hearing from anyone who has ordered from this site, and if they lived up to your standards and expectations as i’m quite interested in the site. It would be nice to have our own version that lives up to its name!

Thanks for the anon. person on the blog who pointed this site out!

hopefully they do better than offthetruck did, remember them? They were similar but after a couple days the deals repeated, weren’t that cheap, some shipping issues (actually I don’t know if anyone ever got their stuff)….and then gone in about 10 days or so. Lets hope it’ll work out for these guys though.

Ya I see they said there trying to be way better then them! I hope so! Thanks for your imput!

Wouldn’t take much to be better than them.

I tried to get into another site; Stootsi (Ships to Canada), but their deals aren’t stellar, and their shipping to Canada is just downright AWFUL (Let alone I dreaded the duties).

I think I may give dipwa a chance, when something good cones along.

Seriously, they need a name change. BIG TIME.

I’d be embarrassed to mention it to friends.

There’s a better site than woot & dipwa. I found three sister websites that cater to the outdoorsy people. Multiple deals all day long. Not just one.

Steep & Cheap: http://www.steepandcheap.com is for the outdoorsy type of person. Things you’ll find on this website during the day: Sunglasses, Tents, Sleeping bags, Hiking Boots, running sneakers, fleece sweaters, arc’teryx ice climbing pants, winter jackets…

Chain Love: http://www.chainlove.com is for the biker. Whether you’re a road or mountain biker, you’ll find a crazy ton of cool things for so many % off. Bike jerseys, helmets, ACTUAL bikes lol, drink mixes for the ride, pedals, bike parts of all kinds.

Whiskey Militia: http://www.whiskeymilitia.com for the skater/teenager. A lot of DC, Volcom items on here. Board shorts, Snowboards, surf boards, sunglasses, t-shirts, skater shoes, etc.

I’d advice that if you were going to purchase anything since it is listed in the U.S. that you make it worth while. The other day I purchased a Gravis bookbag on Whiskey for $13. Shipping was $13 and the original price was something like $79.00, so I got a good deal. Shipping will always be around $13 no matter how light/heavy the product is. So make it worth while.

You cannot add items to your cart and purchase at a later time of the day. Pretty much impulse buys only, and you need to act fast because if it’s a great deal – it’ll go quickly.

    Tada!

woah! never heard of these sites!

  7. Sally says:

I wonder where the dipwa name came from… it is quite interesting to say the least…

  8. disgruntled says:

So far the deals have been disappointing, low quality brands with prices that don’t make up for the shipping costs. (not that the shipping is overpriced). I’ll keep watching though, all it takes is one big ticket item at a good price to make it work. You can’t just sell the same crap as circuit city for the same price, and call it a deal.

  9. Sally says:

Oh really disgruntled? I hope they get deals comparable to woot because they get great stuff!

  10. Nathan says:

    Wow, this is pathetic…

Dipwa has a Wireless Xbox 360 controller on for $42.99 plus 9.99 shipping, while Future Shop has it on for $59.99. So, overall, you save 8 bucks, you are stuck with one plain colour, and you have to wait a week for it. I’m sure if I shopped around I could get it for almost the same price…

What I enjoyed from w00t was the oddness of the items they sold. They sold ridiculous items for a very small price. Shipping with them was also very reasonable…if this offer had $5.00 for shipping, I would be all over it.

I just don’t think that Canada can support a w00t type store, and I don’t think w00t is expanding anytime soon.
