I’m sure you’ve all heard of CBC dumping the popular and loved “Dunt da DUNT da dunt” Hockey Night In Canada Theme. Although I’m not huge hockey fan I loved that that theme song and it’s sad to see it go.
Maybe if CBC feel the pressure and anger of Canadians they’ll renew the contract with the composer. You can contact CBC online here.

I listed=ned to the guy who was gnegotiating with the composr and the the compny that owned the rights. He said that this was the most expensive theme to any television show, that it was cheaper to get the monday night football theme. He also said that the money was not a factor. It was just that the composer and the company withthe copyright were suing the CBC. That if the CBC dumped the song it was because the negotiations didn’t work and the lawsuit was being continued. That the CBC couldn’t financially afford to keep using the theme because if they lost the lawsuit, the composer and the company that owned the copyright would them be eligible to a larger settlement. It was also either the composer or the comany that owns the copyright that leaked the story. I imagine it ws a negotiating tactic. You know, to get the CBC to settle for more money. THe guy form the CBC said he wouldn’t do that cince it’s unreasonable to make the canadian public pay rediculous amounts of money for a theme song. I agree. BTW this isn’t the first theme some for Hockey night in Canada.

C.T.V. has acquired the rights to the Hockey Night in Canada theme song. It will now air during hockey broadcasts on T.S.N. and R.D.S., as well as olympic coverage on C.T.V. in 2010. Sent at 3:41 pm.
