i used to work at mcdonald’s and figured out a way to stop this. whenever someone does this…the person at the order window punches in a water–that’s it. then when the car arrives at the last window, the person hands them their water and goodbye!

Maybe gk was in this situation before like the employees @ McFat-Yourself. Come on, if you’ve been around this forum long enough, you’d know Boo would never advocate this type of thing, its all in the fun, keeps stuff interesting.
Also, why do you assume this is an encouragement for others to do the same? Perhaps this can be an example for the employees — have them anticipate and prepare for situations like these.

@ Boo-Hoo: This is a site to promote getting deals and freebies, not a site to educate McDonalds employees. Although I don’t think Boo Radley is “encouraging” people to steal, but undoubtly he is advocating or at the very least, promoting this behaviour.

amg, I’ve always posted off-topic stuff on Smart Canucks (SC). I don’t just treat SC as a deals website, it’s also somewhat my personal homepage where I like posting fun stuff every now and then. In the past, SC was small and I didn’t have problems with these off-topic posts. But as of recently, as the number of visitors has significantly increased I’m pressured into being “politically correct”… people get mad at trivial things… if I share a video for fun… if I talk about modding.… if I post a not so great deal. To be honest this pressure is annoying… I provide the highest quality and most honest service without expecting anything in return (never did I post a crappy deal to make money out of it and I am always very truthful in my posts). Yet people can’t tolerate some humour or sarcasm every now and then. When I posted this video I was not advocating or promoting bad behaviour. First of all I know most McDs in Canada have a single window to receive payment and get your meal so that wouldn’t work. Secondly, I posted it for the pure fun of it and I don’t see how it would change anyone’s attitude… people who don’t steal will not start stealing after watching that video.

First off, Boo Radly, you are wrong when you say “Most McD’s have a single window to recieve payment”. During rush-hour times (lunch and super), almost every McDonalds that I know that has a in-person drive-thru ordering system (as the case in this video) has atleast 2 drive-thru windows open when it’s busy. One to take the order and cash, and the other to pickup the food. It’s only when they are NOT busy is when they may cut down to 1 window. The guy in the video mensions that it will only work if it’s busy.
Secondly, I hardly see the “humour” in this Video. The guy in the video is blatently ripping off McDonalds. At no point in the video does he take the items back to pay for them. Infact, you can hear the jerk in the background “laughing” as they take off with the stolen goods. It makes me sick to know that thieves like this can post a video like that and get away with it. What’s even more shocking is that this video was re-posted on a legit deal site. There are tons of scum buckets out there that will use the exploit in this video to rip-off McDonalds.

If you also had a look at some of the other content on the blog, you would see that compared to other stuff on the internet, this site is squeeky clean and has very high standards.
I love this blog and all the different content that is contains and when I watch stuff like this video, it reminds me that there are lots of crazies and dishonest people out there and makes me more cautious. How people dream up this stuff is beyond me.
