Yay. Their coffee is pretty good and has been for a number of years. Accidentally discovered this when living in the US and DESPERATE for coffee…any coffee…when we were out and about. There’s a Macdonald’s near work so hope to take advantage of this. Hard part? The smell. Nothing worse than that old grease fryer smell 🙁
Sue, my problem is they opened a Tim Hortons in my office building just down the hall from me. The smell of burnt coffee every day YUCK
True about that burnt aroma. Tim’s gives me acid (they’re not the only coffee culprit – price doesn’t make a difference!). Macdonald’s doesn’t. Treat myself to one caffeinated bevvie a day so prefer it to be something non-acid inducing 🙂 Tend to go to the local coffee guys (Fire Roasted Coffee Company has awesome coffee) but, hey, free is free.
They also opened a tims in my office building its not the smell that bugs me its the sheep mentality that its good coffee and worth waiting in line for 10 mins. Lol
McDonalds coffee is so much better than Tim Hortons. And ya gotta love free.
Yes! I always benefit in the morning waiting for the streetcar since that intersection has a McDonald’s. When they do the free coffee promo the Hero Burger across the street sets a table up outside and gives out free coffee, and the A&W across from them has people standing outside giving out cups with coupons for free coffee. I love the competition since I get free Hero coffee in the morning and free McDonald’s coffee at night!
Hi roseofblack25, I’m guessing that intersection you’re talking about is Queen and Spadina in Toronto. If so, about what time in the am do the Hero Burger and A&W set up their freebies (I suspect sooner than I’m willing to get up, but hey, would be good to know….)
I like the McCafe specialty coffee a lot more than Tim Horton’s. What bugged me was last month when I wanted to use the coupon for a free small specialty coffee, the girl made me wait till she had served every paying customer (there was a line) before I get that coffee – about 12-15 mins. If they’re going to serve someone w a coupon like that, then they shldn’t give out the coupons at all. Fortunately most of the other places & servers are not like that.
Stopped going to Tim Hortons ever since McCafe started serving coffee. I just had enough of the (crap) at Tims. You have to try McCafes lattes & cappuccinos.
