Earlier this year, LEGO has one of those “I can’t believe we didn’t think of this before!” moments and unveiled a line of 12 board games made up entirely of LEGO pieces. Players will need to construct their game boards before playing, and in many cases, be able to set the boards up differently to allow for different play experiences. If someone on your shopping list is into board games even a little, these LEGO offerings would make a great purchase.
Much to our surprise, we’re not simply talking about 12 different versions of a similar game, either. LEGO has gone all out, creating 12 wholly unique experiences. One game will have you trying to collect pieces to assemble your own robot, for example, while another is a Snakes and Ladders inspired racing game. You can choose games that let you mix potions, hide from a minotaur, and even show off your creative side as you build certain things out of LEGO in Creationary. It’s a bottomless pit of fun!
So what’s the bottom line when it comes to cost? $12.99-$44.99. There are a wide range of games here, and LEGO has wisely priced them to suit every budget. A $12.99 game like Robo Champ or Magikus might be smaller and less involved than the $45 Creationary, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be any less fun.

Was excited to see this for our grandson for Xmas but read the reviews on all the Lego games and think will pass. For the money that they want the game play time and not being able to mix up the different games to make your own game isn’t very appealing.
Its a neat concept but Im not buying them for my boys. All I can picture is lost pieces and a game thrown out. Its hard to improvise when actual game pieces will be lost lol!
I’m thinking about buying Creationary for my husband for Christmas. Hopefully I can get it on sale!
Creationary does not come with nearly enough pieces for some of the clues. What would be better, is if they sold the clue cards as packs, and then buy a bucket of LEGO.
So far we’ve got the pirate one and I just got the Harry Potter one for my birthday. Before you ask, no there are no kids in the household. Just two kids at heart.
The games are a bit of a novelty but fun to play and we know we’ll be able to pull them out and play them when friends come over, so they will get used.
I have already bought 3 games for my little lego fanatic for christmas…we played the games at a teletoon thing they had at the mall that was also promoting lego games.IT WAS AWESOME!!My hubby and son played for over an hour and they both loved the games!!!!
