No taxes Storewide on Amazon.ca *HOT*

There seems to be a glitch on Amazon.ca that won’t be lasting for long! You won’t be charged taxes on anything on Amazon.ca sold by Amazon.ca.  This works on preorders too. Just change the address.

My order also shows taxes payable. There must be some sort of code that needs to be entered.

won’t they just charge you the tax later?

I placed three orders today at Amazon (before and after this post) and was charged tax on all the items that were “Sold and shipped by Amazon” — HOWEVER, for years now, Items that are sold by third parties (even if fulfilled by Amazon) may or may not be taxable depending on that vendor’s origin. eg. Aukey is based outside of Canada so they dont have a tax # and cant charge tax — even though the items are stored at Amazon and shipped by Amazon, the purchase is made to Aukey… so no tax is involved. — is this perhaps where our over-zealous poster might have been mistaken?
