On The Go Magazine Pulls All Coupons

olddutch

Most of you are aware of this amazing coupon, especially the $2 version allowing for free bags of chips.  Unfortunately, On The Go Magazine has decided that coupons will not be printed in any of their magazines going forward.

It is sad to see them take this step, one of my first ever coupons came from On The Go (a high value coupon for Lou’s Entrees I believe), but given that I know so many people who do enjoy reading it on the GO Train who thought it was no longer being published because they are never in stock, completely understandable.

“Hello All,

ON the GO Magazine would like to thank our readers who appreciate the time and effort that goes into publishing our magazine.

Original creative content has almost disappeared from publishing and the GTA publications who still offer this usually charge readers for a hard copy or have started paywall websites. We are committed to always offering FREE copies of our magazine across the GTA at stations and street boxes. We are proud to be an independent company. We exist because of our readers and our loyal advertisers.

As mentioned in other posts, coupons are offered occasionally in ON the GO Magazine. Unfortunately, this will not be the case moving forward

Effective immediately, ON the GO Magazine will NOT contain and/or publish coupons.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me directly.

do you blame them people were stealing massive amounts of the paper just to get the coupon. and then just to turn around and sell them / ask for a limb for them. if you ask me they’re the ones who caused this

Have to agree with Josh on this one.

Just another case of greedy people ruining it for the rest of us.

    Not surprized with their decision.

I’m not surprised either. However, their publication is mostly advertisements. Even the articles are sponsored by different advertisers. (Such as a mortgage company advertising about getting a mortgage and then indirectly advertising their service)

They did the right thing. Their FREE magazine was intended for a wide audience, but instead the few coupon hoarders took bundles of magazines home just to cut out the ‘hight value” coupons.

Has anyone found out what this guy, Ryan, does for the magazine. I can not find him inside the front cover with all the other employees. It makes me wonder if this is real

He has Google+ posts going back a while showing he works there and sharing covers from the mags etc

This is interesting since I picked up 4 copies for the residents in the Nursing Home I work at since they love the puzzles at the back and they had Old Dutch coupons that expired Oct 31/13 they were in the September magazine. Maybe they won’t be putting them in after that. But I did see coupons in the October magazine for Iron Chef meals.

But I do know what they mean I seen a woman picking through the Oct magazines pulling out the Iron Chef meal coupons and then putting them back I personally don’t care since I wanted the magazine for the puzzles but you got to love how so many people make it difficult for others to because of their greed.
