Make sure you put a space in the postal code or else it will give you an error.

    Grr.
I do not like PETA for exactly such stunts as marketing their bile to children (though, I must admit that these particular stickers don’t seem to be quite so horrible as the last set they put out.

Is it a healthy message for growing kids that they should not eat meat or fish?!!

  4. Justine

I don’t have kids, so I didn’t order it to give it to kids, I got it for myself! ;)

  5. Eric

Cut class, not frogs — that’s just great. And, if the Justine that posted earlier is the same person I know — YOU are a nugget.

  6. Delilah

I’m a vegetarian mom (of a vegetarian child) who doesn’t like Peta’s tactics but our deals section is for everyone. We can’t please everyone all the time and some deals will be enjoyed more by others. I do take offense to the “is it a healthy message for growing kids that they should not eat meat or fish?” comment though. There’s nothing wrong with being a vegetarian and my child is extremely healthy and “growing” right on target.

  7. Marketing Guy

Completely agree — there’s a reason we protect our kids from the BIASED opinions of cigarette marketing, alcohol marketing, etc. This isn’t much different — just another group forcing their views on children at an early age. I was always iffy about PETA… but when they made a big deal about Obama killing a fly during an interview a couple months ago, they completely devalued their entire organization. What a joke.

LUCKILY, I think your average kid is going to smile at the elephant and the “fishy”, then forget all about it 5 seconds later. So enjoy your 6 piece McNugget, or better yet, get it to go and head to the circus for the afternoon. C’mon… these are KIDS.

So, SmartCanucks is the latest advertising venue for PETA.
Well, when this site openly allows political and terrorists organisations to market their goods, it’s time to abandon and go elsewhere. And maybe let Wal-Mart and SDM and others that have been getting upset with this site lately, know just what is happening at SmartCanuck.

  9. Sue

Cut Class”? Jeez. What a bunch of mental midgets. Maybe they did a little too much of that themselves?

  10. RobynCD

So who speaks for the vegetables? Surely they have feelings too!

  11. jerri

it’s a pretty STRONG message to foist on kids.…..

and encouraging them to cut class?

  12. Tiger Campbell

It’s a personal choice to subscribe and get these stickers for your child, but I for one, will not be getting them for my child. She’s a toddler and I do not want her saying that she will not eat a chicken or fish. In my opinion, PETA provides a one sided opinion and I do not want my child’s opinion skewed by stickers that essentially “mommy” gave her. I personally disagree with a lot that PETA stands for. I get that the forum is for all coupons but I do not think controversial organizations with strong views, such as this, should be posted, but again, to each their opinion :-)

  13. AJ

An extremist organization like PETA recruiting children is no different than extremist organizations in the middle east recruiting children.

  14. shannon

RobynCD (and all like you) if your comment was anything but a complete joke, you have no brain cells. :)

The views and opinions expressed on this blog do not necessarily represent the views and opinions of the Smartcanucks.ca owner, members, other authors and or the views and opinions of the organizations in which Smartcanucks.ca is affiliated.

    ;)

I know Eric, I seriously love that song, and the Arrogant Worms! And Shannon, if you can’t recognize sarcasm when you see it, then I feel really sorry for you!
I think that everyone is entitled to an opinion, and mine is that PETA makes themselves look absolutely ridiculous, time and time again. How can they expect people to take them seriously?

I posed a question, not a comment. You are offended by a polite question? I am offended by you’re being offended at my polite question. A simple answer would have been nice and then chances are I would have agreed with you.

I know there’s nothing wrong with being a vegetarian and am delighted to learn that your child is extremely healthy and “growing” right on target.

  18. Andrea

Boy do I need to get my eyes checked…I thought it said “Cut GRASS” not “Cut Class”…

  19. Sally

Peta is the only organization in the world that would call me a murderer for killing that pesky fruit fly last night.

  20. RobynCD

He he, my three year old is wearing a rabbit fur trimmed hat right now.

  21. Eric

Now I’m not a fan of fur for clothing (well, unless the animal previously wearing it was cooked into something delicious) but animals are there to be eaten by other animals. Food chain (or web).

I am a proud member of PETA:

    People for the
    Eating of
    Tasty
    Animals

  22. Jackie

Eric, that’s a good point. We could learn a thing or two from animals. They eat other animals, so why shouldn’t we eat them? They also shit outside and don’t shower and I swear, once my family and I started doing that, we noticed a huge saving on our water bill. We really should take a cue from animals.

  23. Eric

Jackie, don’t forget fornicating with anyone anywhere we want, requiring others to spray us with hoses.
