It's much more fun to X-cut the top of the fruit, break it apart into sections, peel off the membrane and reveal the arils, popping them off - no mess, and I always marvel at how complex this fruit is inside!

I've never seen a pomegranate coupon - is this an Eastern thing?

As for having the juice, remember you are getting none of the fibre, and something like over 30 grams of sugar per serving - that's over 8 tsp. - more than in an equivalent cup of Coke.

BTW, am I the lone SCer left boycotting that "P" company???

Even with the underwater separation of the seeds trick, keep a damp sponge handy. The juice gets on cupboards, backsplashes and beyond. Wear a dark apron or shirt while handling a pomegranate. Your laundry will be easier to handle.

POMS have so many health benefits!! They are truly a super fruit!!
Research suggests that drinking pomegranate juice may be a natural way to prevent dental plaque.
