Hello Rebeca,

Thank you for contacting Starbucks.

Starbucks is committed to providing our customers with safe, high quality and desirable products. We have a rigorous quality assurance program and we adhere to all regulatory requirements. If any issue is found, we react quickly and appropriately to address it.

We understand that questions have been raised regarding the safety of Bisphenol A (BPA), a component used in the production of polycarbonate plastic. Some of the products Starbucks sells in our stores are made from polycarbonate. Currently, our products fall within the regulatory guidelines of the countries where we do business.

Though the health agencies in these countries have approved the use of polycarbonate for food and beverage containers, Starbucks is proactively beginning a phase out of water bottles and other merchandise made of polycarbonate. This phase out began in May of 2008. At the same time, we are continuing to evaluate polycarbonate alternatives for Starbucks products.

I was very sorry to hear about your experience with your tumblers. Although we do not have a standard warranty for our serveware, please allow me to outline our return/exchange policy. Our stores will happily offer a full refund or exchange for the original price paid if the original sales receipt is presented with the merchandise within 60 days of purchase. Also, if the returned item was purchased with cash or a check and the refunded amount is over $25 we will need to issue a refund check which will be mailed within thirty days.

If you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call our Customer Relations department at (800) 23-LATTE. Or, email us from www.starbucks.com/customer/.

Thank you again for contacting Starbucks, we really appreciate it.

Best Regards,

Dave G.

Customer Relations

Starbucks Coffee Company

I just tried to take my old Avent bottles back to Zellers last night -- too late, they won't take them back anymore. I just found out recently from a friend that she took all her bottles back in April or May. I think the deadline was back in May. The Zellers employee suggested I contact the company directly, but after reading the messages above, something tells me it will be a wasted effort. Too bad.

Avent does not care about their customers, I just got off the phone with them. The bottles are illegal to sell in Canada, but a recall has not been issued, so they will do nothing for you and the crap that you have bought. I would buy nothing from such a dirty run company.

This offer was a LONG time ago I don't think anyone is going to take anything back. You can get the standard BPA free Gerber bottles for really cheap at any major store if that helps.

Hi, Ive been out of the baby loop for a while and now am expecting my 3rd child. I called Avent and they said there is nothing wrong with their bottles and you have to put the bottles in extreme high heat, and even after you sterlize them you wouldnt put milk in them straight away.
I have no idea, but they wont give me a refund or exchange any of my bottles and they said it was up to individual stores. Im going to call the Bay, Zellers and Walmart as I have loads of bottles, sippy cups and a very expensive pump. What would everyone recommend? As Im going to be replacing everything.
Thanks for everybodys time.

Hey all. I just called my local Babies R Us (in Ottawa) and they are no longer participating in this program. I am not even going to try at Zellers.

Darn! I wish I had known this back in April.

I wasn't able to return my Nalgene bottles anywhere!!

But I did order a bpa-free titan water bottle from www.titanwaterbottle.com - it looks cool. We'll see if it holds up as well as my old nalgene.

I heard walmart takes back bottles that it carries until Aug 08!
