Ringing in the New Year Smart Canuck style!

Posted by & filed under Announcements.

happy-new-year

Well everyone, the New Year is upon us, in less then 10 hours (Ontario time) we will be in 2010.   A time for new resolutions and a fresh start of a New Year.

Do you make New Years resolutions? What kind of resolutions do us Smart Canucker’s make? Save more money? Use more coupons?

I personally don’t generally make resolutions. Last year I quit smoking the 3rd week of January, not a New Years resolution, just something I needed to do. Maybe this year I’ll work at losing the weight I gained from quitting lol!

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening tonight whether it be with friends, family or a quiet evening in. Please do not drink and drive, arrive alive.

Happy New Years from the Smart Canucks team! See you in 2010!

My resolution is to lose 10–15 pounds as well as boost up my grades to an average of 95%.

I usually don’t make resolutions but there things I want to do so I guess I will this year :-) I desperately want to get all my photos organized and into albums. I also want to work on my marriage and try to be a better mom, oh yeah, and brush and floss twice a day :-)

  5. SnowWhiteFanatic

My resolution is to run my life, not let my life run me! It seems that all life’s issues and work got in the way this year — gonna enjoy myself and my family more and when the work day is done, it’s DONE! I’m not getting any extra pay or thanks for doing more than my 8 hr day!

  6. foxeh

Happy New Year to one and all! As for resolutions stay happy by keeping away from those that make you miserable!!

  7. dlm

To lose weight, try lowcarb, high protein. Worked for me after quitting smoking, hitting menopause and gaining! Try “Protein Power” by Drs Eades

  8. Evil.kitten

Bleh too sick to care about new years really lol.

Don’t honestly believe in resolutions because everyone always pick things way out of their reach like losing 10 pounds a week or winning the lottery lol.. My resolutions are more less simple baby steps toward new years resolutions=)

like speaking to my ex again and being nice.… thinking and staying positive… eat more fruits.. and try to make a food outside of my comfort zone [seafood, etc].

to try and lose a little, try to keep a happy disposition in life, roll with what comes your way

  10. koala

I generally don’t make resolutions either.
I just hope my efforts make a difference. That’s all I wish for.

    Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

  11. Steph (esbee)

    Happy New Year everyone!
I’m totally going to save more money this year — especially now that I have learned the secrets from the wise SC’ers here since June 2009. YOU GUYS ROCK!

  12. Lynn

Losing weight for me as well… *sigh* (again)!!!

Happy New Year everyone! Be safe, stay healthy and strong and love yourself.

  15. amyt0915

My resolution is to give to myself as much as I give to others!

  16. Lulu

I have decide to make a list of ”intentions” instead of resolutions so I won’t be too hard on myself/disappointed if everything doesn’t come together right away…One day at a time…sounds simple but will require positive effort on my part but that is exactly what I INTEND to do!
Good luck to me and to all of you in 2010!!

  17. Litesandsirens911

    Happy New Year everyone!!
My New Year’s resolution is to lose this lose this drasted weight and walk more.

  18. S. MacDonald

It’s great that you quit smoking…that’s a big accomplishment.

  19. Mr Willabie

    …a profound thought?
The other night I saw a clip of the late Ed McMahon saying something like, “It takes so much more time and effort to be nasty and angry. Why not just try and be nice instead?“
I thought, in my tired old age, “How long did I waste?”

    …anyway, that’s my resolution.

    Happy new year everyone!

  20. Mi

    Happy New Year everyone!

May the next year be a great one for us all.

  21. Judstir

It’s The New Year, 2010 now as I write this and I didn’t make any Resolutions and I never have. My goal is to take life as it comes, deal with things as they happen and cope as best I can in every situation. One Day at a Time is how I live my life. Happy New Year to Everyone at SC.

  22. Smart @ss Canuck

Congratulations on quitting smoking! That is a huge accomplisment! I know, I’ve done it several times myself! LOL I’m off of them for good now. :-)

I am much like Judstir. I don’t make resolutions so much as taking life as it comes (don’t sweat the small stuff), try to learn from past experiences and apply it to current ones. Sounds corny, I know. But it works for me!

Thank you for this wonderful forum! I have enjoyed it immensley this year and I have found amazing deals — which thrill me to no end!

    Happy New Year everyone!

Smart A (I really should change my screen name, don’t know what possessed me to use Smart A, guess it was the first thing I thought of)

  29. Natalie

I quit smoking in July, which is the only year I did not make it a resolution. I am so uncomfortable with the weight I gained. I won’t make it a resolution– but I plan on working on it.

  30. Penny

My new years resolution is to bring a bag lunch everyday to work. Not as thrilling as other resolutions, but healthier and cheaper.

  31. Samm Shitzel
