This Saturday (November 21) will be a 20x Optimum points event on all general merchandise at Shoppers Drug Mart. This is a great time to try and maximize the number of points you have for the next bonus redemption day which should be sometime soon, seeing as they usually do one before Christmas. I still have a long way to go before I’m ready for a bonus redemption day so this event is going to be great for me. Don’t forget to buy an SDM gift card to use first so you can double the number of Optimum points you get!!

Does this mean that I could buy a gift at the start at the transaction and pay with it at the end and get 20x the points.
I buy a gift card before I start shopping. You get regular points for it, no bonus. Pay for purchases with the g.c. and get the same regular and bonus points for the merchandise as you would get paying with cash. This way you double the normal points, although not the bonus points. Gift cards, stamps, bus passes, etc are excluded from 20x the points.
Most Shoppers Drug Mart stores have transitioned AWAY from giving points on gift cards. From other posts, it would seem that some stores will still award points on a gift card purchase. Either way though, you would not receive 20x the points on a gift card purchase (the fine print always spells this out)
Do you know if 20x covers perscriptions?
Prescriptions are not entitled to the 20x
You do get points on gift cards if they are Shoppers gc’s. If you buy another retailers gc like Starbucks, you don’t get any points.
Another tip if you have a store with a photo processing centre is to send your photos in to be printed and pick them up on Saturday. You will get the 20x’s if you pick them up on Saturday (and spend the minimum!).

My flyer states that it’s 20x the points on all Life Brand products, November 14-20th.
As for the gift cards, they don’t give 20x the points on buying a gift card but you do get points. This allows you to actually get 21x the points if you use the gift card as payment.
Or you can use that with Shoppers Optimum Master Card!

i bought 5 life brand products last night so that i would recieve 20x thepoints and they were not applied, i went back in and showed the cashier and she showed me the fine print on some random page in the flyer that said the points will not be applied until nov 28th. make sure you read the fine print.
Here in London you either get points for buying the gift card, or when you pay for it, but apparently not both, as of May I believe. I’m sure it varies.
I tried to get a SDM GC with my Opt pts and they wouldn’t let me. That’s why I was collecting so much, well that sux.
