This offer is soo retarded. What overpaid exec came up with the bs pr stunt? They could have used the promotion money to lower dispensing cost which is at $9.15 where I work, or pay their employees a decent wage. I make $10.95/hour as a tech so I’m basically making what a stocker/burger flipping job would pay except I have to put my name on everything I dispense and I’m responsible for peoples well being –sic–

I wish I worked for Costco, LOL.

Oh, and if they were hoping on a unstoppable amount of transfers, we had 7 since the promotion came into effect = EPIC FAIL =

The promo ads are a bit misleading. The explanation at the top of this page is clearer.

The ads in the newspapers made me think I’d get 60,000 just for transferring one prescription. Good thing I called. Not worth it for me.

I just don’t understand how people can be so easily sway’d by a points program. You are just a number to SDM’s mass corperate giant. They want to suck you into their Pharmacy so that you will think the prices are so great…actually they bank on it. Take a look at their regular prices and compare before you jump in with both feet.
Like the old saying goes…you get what you pay for. A $3 walmart script fee is great but what are you getting for that $3? How many Walmart pharmacists will spend the time to talk to you about new medicines? I pay $11 at a small LOCAL pharmacy and appreciate that they know me and my family. I can call them with a question they know exactly who I am, what I take and if my Dr has made an error. I am happy to pay for great service that you won’t find at an SDM or a Walmart.

I’m on a medical plan and get my scrips for free,so I just transferred my prescription from save on foods to shoppers,just to get the booklet.Im already 6000 pts ahead

I know here in Ontario it’s a $4.11 dispensing fee to get prescriptions filled at Costco, whereas Shoppers is $11.99. Also, Shoppers here tells me that I cannot collect optimum points on prescription fills. I used to get all my prescriptions filled at Shoppers when I was in school because it was convenient and I could easily get my prescription transferred to Shoppers in different cities. Now that I’m back home though I think I’ll try to fill my prescriptions at only Costco (especially great if you don’t have a drug plan!).

Do not get sucked into this offer from Shoppers. They charge more for the drugs than BlueCross will cover, and they also charge some of the highest dispensing fees in the country! More your prescriptions to Lawtons, Walmart, Zellers, etc while you can.

Last Time I got a script filled at costco the fee was $4 and change and the meds were cheaper than zellers. (Ontario)

Excellent point about Costco — they can’t deny you access to their pharmacy if you’re a member. On the US side of the border, Costco actually scored big when Obama encouraged Americans to fill their prescriptions at Costco to take advantage of the significant cost savings. So for anyone with a Costco nearby — member or not — check out their pharmacy and take advantage of the cheapest dispensing fees around.
