    Does anyone know if this happens every year? There’s nothing I want right now, but I want to save my points up for next year =)

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Natalka says:

    What province is this from?

  3. dizzyb says:

    Sheila, I’m in the same boat. I don’t have quite enough for the max redemption, so I don’t want to redeem yet, either. I don’t recall ever seeing a mega bonus redemption event, but I may have missed them. Here’s hoping this is a somewhat regular thing!

  4. Elisa says:

    Hopefully this is a yearly event (at least) I just got a card and planning to apply what I’m slowly learning here lol there’s so much to learn with all this couponing stuff that i’ve never imagined it would be possible.

  5. lulu says:

    They always do the redemption at this time of year HOWEVER they are sneaky and may up the amount you need to spend to get the points(i.e point values change) I NEVER have a problem spending a coupla hundred bucks on make-up, perfume…LOL…. Treat yourself!!

  6. Junkster says:

    This is only one time. I asked someone at the store.

    If you don’t have enough pts …. buy over $75 worth of stuff and get 18500 pts. This deal ends this Friday. If you are thinking of getting perfume, check out what perfumes are on offer in the $75 fragrance sampler and certificate… the certificate is valued up to $89 off a perfume featured… the samples allow you to try the perfume before you buy. Use on available perfume gift sets which gives you more bang for the buck. There may even be a free gift with purchase too. Don’t confuse with the $95 sampler… it has better size samples and can redeem the certificate for up to $107 perfume. And if you plan to get more than one perfume gift… do it in separate transactions… so you will get 18500 additional points for every $75 before tax purchases.

    redeem 30 000 points and get $60 off…
    this sounds too good to be true.
    so i redeem 30 000 points and will get another $60 of free merchandise?
    someone please explain, and i am a newbie to smartcanucks and don’t really understand the optimum thing even though i’ve read the threads last night.

    cheers.

  8. Jennifer Hutch says:

    Is there is minimum of 30 000 points that has to be redeemed? I have 24 000, which is normally good for $30.

  9. Yvie says:

    If you don’t have enought points don’t forget that this week is a bonus point event. Spend $75 and get 18,000 points. This just might be the boost some may need to get to the highest level. So excited!!!

  10. SavingMentor says:

    @Sheila
    This is the first time they’ve had a bonus redemption event with these further increased values. They have normal bonus redemption events several times a year, but this one is significantly better. Hopefully they will run it again at least yearly, but there is no guarantees.

    @Natalka
    I believe this promotion is nationwide. I am in a province that normally gets worse offers than Ontario and this offer is also available to me. Pretty sure it is nationwide.

    @thaichips
    That’s exactly how it works. You have to earn the points first of course, but if you already have enough points then there is no better time to redeem them than this weekend!

    @Jennifer Hutch
    Yes, the minimum for this event is 30,000 points to get any kind of bonus. You can always redeem at the regular redemption levels for smaller purchases but you will be getting much less value. I advise you to try and scrounge up those extra 6,000 points! Maybe make a $75 purchase like others have suggested?

    It seems there are a lot of people who are new to the Shoppers Optimum program here, so if you want more information I have a complete guide to the Shoppers Optimum program on my site (click my name to go to my site and then use the “Rewards Programs” menu at the top to go to the Shoppers Optimum section). Use the contact form on HowToSaveMoney.ca to shoot me an email if you have anymore questions or PM me here on SmartCanucks.

  12. nunu says:

    Is it applicable at Murale? I want to get a perfume but I don’t think the regular SDM has Kenzo…

  13. thaichips says:

    thanks savingmentor! you rock!

  14. Lilyana'sMommy says:

    @ Jennifer Hutch – Most Shoppers have a deal right now where if you buy 2 huggies or pampers wipes you will get 3000pts so you can go and purchase 4 containers of wipes (and I’m pretty sure the travel size ones are included in this promo) and you will have your extra 6000pts 🙂

  15. Junkster says:

    Friday is the last day for spending $75min to get 18500 pts + 750 regular points to make it 19250 pts.

    This is a super offer and they have many gift ideas…. so do your x-mas shopping at shoppers.

    If your a total newbie… this is a break down. If you spend min. $75 five times… you earn enough points to be able to redeem 95000 points for $250 free stuff. You will spend about $375 + taxes = $425 to get a total of 96150 points. For example purchase the $75 perfume sampler pack with redeemable $89 perfume certificate. buy 5 of these but purchase them separately…. NOT ALL AT ONCE.

    The 30000 pts for $60 is a bonus offer that regularly they don’t even offer. So if you want to redeem with lesser points… go for it… but it is BEST to save for the larger value.

  16. bh says:

    just wondering if anyone wants to sell points?

  17. wcb says:

    hey bh, i can sell you some points as i don’t have enough to reach the redemption level yet. how many do you need?

  18. Appreciate another informative site. Where else could I get that sort of information written in this type of perfect way? I’ve a project that i’m just now working on, and I have been on the look out for such info.

  19. Denise Lushman says:

    I have a huggies fpc valued at $22.00 if anyone wants to trade that for some points that would be awesome!!! THANKS!!!
