Shoppers Drug Mart Canada has released a new promotional code that will allow you to earn FREE Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum Points by simply updating your Optimum Rewards Member Profile.
Sometimes the codes are available only to specific groups of people, but this one seems available for anyone to use.
The Optimum Bonus Points Code currently available is:
- 1404 – Claim 4000 FREE Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum Rewards Points.
All you have to do is login to your Shoppers Optimum Rewards Points Profile and update your information like your address, phone number or another field. Then enter the code provided above into the promo code field and voila! The points will not be instantly added to your account, so have some patience. I usually receive an email that says it has worked successfully.
This offer expires on September 15th, 2014.

I got an email saying:
“Thank you for updating your Optimum Profile. We feel we know you better already.
4000 Shoppers Optimum Points will be added to your Optimum Account by September 29, 2014.”
So, the points aren’t instant. But still exciting!

I always get the emails saying my profile has been updated and pts will be awarded by xx and never get them. And too much of a hassel to chase them for it.

There is a limit of one promo code per year per cardholder. The second one in late spring that I went for- I too got a confirmation e-mail about being in line to receive 2000 pts. The points delivery date came and went without a 2000pt topup.
So if you already redeemed one promo offer for account updating, let this one go and find your next flyer/purchase offer/contest that sets you up for points.
Many SCers have received points for more than one promo per year

I had same issue – entered many promo codes and updated my profile but never got optimum points. when I contacted them they advised me to send all confirmation emails received from SDM with promo code # (i found this very unfriendly though). Then after sending all those proof they responded below:
This promotion is valid only for those who are updating their profiles for the first time. Upon investigation we have determined you participated in a similar promotion in July, 2014. We apologize if you were not aware of this stipulation in advance.
Nonetheless, as a one-time goodwill gesture we have added the 4,000 bonus points you would’ve earned to your card now, which we hope you enjoy redeeming at any Shoppers Drug Mart location.

A couple of months ago, they had an update code on facebook, but each time it would change the code it showed. Some people entered all 8 and got points for 4-5 of them on the same day.
It seems to work if you actually change your phone number, email and/or address (change St. to Street etc)
