I love Starbucks. They are celebrating their 40th birthday and giving all their customers a little treat. This Thursday-Saturday from 2pm to 5pm buy a drink and get a small Petite for free! For those of you that don’t know what a Petite is, they are delectable little treats that are under 200 calories. Yummy and less remorse educing then other treats (oh and free!).

I love junk food. I do not, however, love either of the two cake pops I had today. They were way too gooey/soft & dense inside and the icing tasted a bit cheap. Birthday was better than tiramisu but they both pretty much rotted my stomach.
I returned from Starbucks feeling duped…I walked in for the promotion after seeing a commercial for it yesterday evening. There was a ton of signage indicating the establishment’s participation in the celebration of their 40th birthday…heck there was even a ton ‘petites’ on display but they were not honouring their own promotion…instead ‘buy a drink & GET NOTHING!!!’…perhaps you had to pay? although ‘the free’ part is pretty misleading then. People were clearly peeved…I know I felt cheated…Tim Hortons ‘roll up the rim to win’ here I come! –at least they honour there own advertising
