From looking around the deals section, it looks like the Loblaws stores are having tax free days for different parts of Canada in the next few weeks.  Here are the ones that I’ve seen listed so far:

  • Nov 21–22 Superstore ON
  • Nov 26–27 Superstore BC, possibily Western Canada (if AB is included in this one, they have a save double the GST sale seeing as they don’t have PST.  I love this event).

If you know of any other tax free Loblaws events going on in the next couple of weeks please post them here in the comments section or over in the deal section to let your fellow bargain hunters know.  I’m sure we all love not having to pay taxes sometimes!

Thanks to trucks12trucks and seapotato for posing these tax free events.

I thought this was a great deal when I first saw them do it.… but be warned. I think I saved like $5 on a $200 grocery bill… plus I had to wait in a huge line and everything was picked over becuase it was packed in there. Save your $5 and the headache!

Atlantic Superstore — no tax Fri/Sat Nov 20/21 — open to close.
Excludes alcohol, tobacco, prescriptions, dry cleaning, gas bar, lottery, postal services or from 3rd party businesses within their stores. No returns accepted or rain checks issued for taxable items during this promotion.

Well, as long as an upcoming funeral doesn’t fall on the 27th, I’ll go there after work. It’s always nuts at ours, and I don’t go very often… so each time I try to be ready for it, lol!

In Manitoba: NO TAX Nov 26 & 27 (Thurs, Fri)

As you don’t pay tax on most food purchases this deal is best if you are buying other items (clothing, toys, seasonal, household, cleaning stuff…)

This deal is only beneficial if you’re buying items like electronics, clothing, toiletries, junk food, or prepared food. Necessity items like produce/meat/dairy/most grocery.. don’t have tax

It’s an all day event unlike in the past when it’s been 5:00 — close. That should make it less crazy.

  7. Alex

This is a good sale because your not limited to a few items that the retailer wants you to buy.

As leftie mentioned — Atlantic Superstore — no tax Fri/Sat Nov 20/21 — open to close.

Also, not sure it it’s just Atlantic or elsewhere as well, but from now till Dec 31 — they waive the cost of the plastic bags.

This is a SCAM! Food items are NON-taxable, so you are saving no money!

They always charge you the wrong amount on your receipts! Plus they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would never shop there again.

Some food items are non-taxable, but other things, like pop, frozen pizzas, and other things still get taxed. This gets removed during the tax-free days.

The subsequent time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you could possibly fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.

Great time to stock up on baby supplies — diapers, wipes, etc. can save you a pile!!
