The Body Shop is doing something they’ve NEVER done before: It’s called “3 for $30”. Really – all day Friday, November 27th, 2009, you can buy any 3 products over $10 for only $30.00! It could be like $25.00 + $18.00 + $28.00 but you get them all for $30.00! Holiday gift sets are not included, but the rest, like the starter kits are I believe.

The Body Shop can be pretty expensive, so this is an awesome deal. Plus, members with the love your body card, get an extra 10% off.

Thanks to Psychojo213 for sharing this deal with us!

I just went to the store (Royal Bank Plaza in Toronto) and aside from being crazy packed, the deals were awesome. I managed to pick up $194 worth of stuff for $90 plus tax! EVERYTHING except gift packs are on sale.

(NOTE: make sure to check with the sample packs as several packs that have smaller sizes of several products are not considered gift sets, and will get the discount).

    Perfect for stocking stuffers!

Thanks Webandik for the tip! I just came back from Royal Bank Plaza as well, I picked up $248 worth of goodies* for $90, let alone that I have the body shop card so I got 10% off everything and end up paying $90 flat after tax!

*many of them sample packs that worth $32 now 3 for $30, they are flying off the shelves like hot pancakes!

Oh dear, I feel like I should take a “long lunch” and head over to my Body Shop! Hopefully London isn’t as crazy!

Warning: Rant follows. That said, I must preface this my stating that my beef is with Body Shop Canada Head Office and not with staff at the local level; I know that there are only enforcing policies and don’t make them. Here goes:

Attended Body Shop in Windsor, ON for this sale. Wanted to get only three items as Christmas gifts, one of which was the Merry Cranberry bubble bath. It’s just a simple bottle of bubble bath. Associate tells me that it’s not included in the sale. “Why?” I ask. It’s not a gift set, nor is it a pre-packaged set, which are the excluded items. “Because it’s considered to be a gift set because it’s in the gift line”. But it’s not a set – it is one lone bottle of bubble bath. She offers that all the regular line bubble baths are included; in addition, all the other products in the Christmas line are included. It is ONLY the bubble bath in the Christmas line that is excluded.

This is nonsensical, as there is nothing in the signage or promotion details that would exclude it; she says that Store Manager received phone call from Head Office first thing in the a.m. to tell them this, and went to find store manager for me.

Store manager confirms it. She says that it’s because the product is located in the same section as the gift sets. But so are the Merry Cranberry bath gel, lotion, reed infusers, etc., and they aren’t excluded. Store manager can offer no plausible explanation as to why this is excluded – it just is. I tell her that the advertising is misleading and that I will be complaining to Head Office – she tells me I can go ahead, but she can’t do anything about it.

I purchase another bubble bath as alternative, and ask for telephone number to head office upon checkout. Upon exiting, I take photos of sale signage with cellphone camera. I then go to the nearest bench and call toll-free number. At first the CSR answering thinks I’m in the states (she is), but I clarify. She goes to Canadian site on her computer (she tells me), and then says she doesn’t know why they are excluding it. She tells me that she will call the store, and then call me back. I am hanging up from her when re-entering store, and see that Manager is already on the phone.

Once manager is off phone, she tells me that the District Manager will authorize her to give me the product at the sale price, but ONLY ME. Don’t go telling everyone about this (hahaha). She will only allow me to buy three she says; I tell her that I actually only wanted one. I’m not greedy; I just want what I think is right.

As she corrects the sale, I tell her that I think that Body Shop is in the wrong on this one; the item is clearly not identified as being excluded, so they should be honouring it. Additionally, I can’t understand why they wouldn’t: The item price is $18; I purchased a different bubble bath (also a gift) at regular $24 for the sale price, so it can’t be a pricing issue.

Anyhow, she then tells me that she’ll likely just pull all the Christmas bubble bath off the shelves for the day. So, I am SORRY to everyone if they do this. But, if they do this, I think that everyone ought to let Body Shop know how they feel about such a practice: You errer with your exclusion language so you pull the product? Way to win customers!

End of rant. Good luck everyone, and thanks to OP for this.

Justine, thank you for adding this entry to the blog.

    Wow, nice Sass
You must really like that bubble bath! LOL! Well, good for you..you got what you wanted and didn’t let it go…you are so right…and i probably would have done the same if i liked something so much…
    Enjoy!

Ok I’m totally kicking myself. I only found out about this sale now and I spent my lunch hour picking up other holiday items at Canadian Tire! I can’t even go tonight because I’m already shopping elsewhere! I am keeping my fingers crossed that they have this sale again before Christmas because I had items on my list from this store!

  8. Justine says:

    What did you all get?

I am heading out soon. I think I might get the wise woman stuff and vitamin c, great reviews on it.

  9. Nice Sass says:

    Hi Momof3,

It wasn’t even for me – it was a gift for a family member. But it is her FAVE, and I had been waiting for it to go on sale. I didn’t even buy a single thing for me. That said, I believed that in doing this I was fighting for everyone who might have wanted this product (which is why I’m not going to keep it a secret that they finally caved). It’s the principle of the matter: If you advertise a certain sale, honour it; post a correction notice if there’s an error.

  10. Talimomali says:

I just came back from my lunch hour shopping spree, I paid $67 for $140 worth of stuff! Awesoooome! I think i might go back to switch up one my gifts for me for a Wise Woman set… Then the savings go up even more, the Wise Woman product line gives the best savings (hope the MIL-to-be isn’t offended!).

Also, the two velvet covered makeup palettes for $26 are included! And the Cranberry/Black velvet booties/warming wrap! So many presents have been checked off my list 🙂

  11. Kailyn says:

Great sale, I saved over 50% and stocked up on Christmas gifts! I went early and managed to purchase all the stuff on my list and MORE. I’m glad Canada is getting some great promos!
For those who purchase over $100 after discount, you might as well apply for The Body Shop card which cost $10 … but it’s free because you get 10% off the total. And with the card on your birthday you can redeem a $10 gift. You can’t go wrong!

  12. Justine says:

I am not sure how many points I am at on my love your body card, maybe I could get $10 off this purchase, not really sure. I’ll try and only buy 3 items though, I don’t want to overdo it. 😉

  13. Gracious says:

Awesome awesome deals! Bought two 100% organic cotton baby towels that are normally $30 each! And also the Spa Wisdom Africa Spa Salt Scrub that is usually $28. That’s $88 of stuff for only $30. I went back to get more an hour later, and discovered that the shelf was completely cleared out.

    I am so happy.

  14. leslie738 says:

I was at the store in the Outlet mall in Windsor today and all of their Merry Cranberry products were included – no exceptions. Everything was 3 for $30. Nice Sass, did you go to the one in Devonshire Mall???

  15. polacco65 says:

  16. Catherine says:

    thank you 😀

i got satsuma body butter, coconut body butter and the peppermint foot lotion for $30.

  19. Nice Sass says:

    Hi Leslie738,

Yes, I went to Devonshire Mall; the Manager was insistant that the directive came from Head Office, and was on the phone with the District Manager to “allow” me to purchase one bottle of bubble bath at the sale price (along with two other items).

I would have spent a ton more there purchasing things for myself, but because of all of this, I just left it at the Christmas items I was purchasing for others. Next time I’ll go to the Outlet; thanks for the post!

  20. Lily says:

Was gonna get stuff, but my friend was being annoying and kept rushing me, telling me to hurry up.

In the end I didn’t get anything. Kinda disappointed I didn’t, but I guess being a teenager, you don’t really need to spend $30 on 3 things you don’t necessarily need.

    • Justine says:

Lily – Definitely, if you don’t need the stuff, no point in getting it.
I really like TBS so for me this was an awesome sale.

  21. Cezann says:

Thanks sooo much for this. I went to the one in the Eaton Center, and the store was packed.

The best purchase I ever made was the African Sea Salt Scrub. I bought one, couple months ago and already knew it was $28. I almost scream when I found the last one. It was weird how I found it, since it was with the other African spa items…maybe people thought it was the test out version.

  22. KLK says:

    Really great sale!
Thanx so much for posting about it.
I picked up a few gifts and stocking stuffers.

  23. Me says:

I went to the one at the Pickering Town Centre. Easy to get around. Staff was fantastic. I found makeup palettes (with a full-size mascara, two full-size lip glosses, blush, four eye shadows and two small brushes). The palette is normally a great deal at $30 – but I got three for $30!!! Amazing. Great gift for the nieces. Then I got a few reed diffuser sets (with reeds, scent, and decorative holder) each regularly $24, for $10! Perfect for the girls at the office.

I normally come to Smart Canucks for the baby deals, but every once in a while I find a post like this one that’s too good to resist. Thank you!

  24. momz says:
