By the way, what’s with Howie Mandel’s little fist handshake thing, also known as ‘The Touch’, aka ‘Knucks’, aka The Fist Bump, and who knows what else it’s called.
Does he have some phobia about shaking people’s hands or something? (Probably, I mean, doesn’t half of Hollyweird have some bizarre hang up?)
Howie Mandel suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder. Basically, he has a phobia of germs to the point that he is afraid to shake hands. This was one of the reasons that led to the demise of his talk show — people thought he was rude because he couldn’t shake hands with his guests.
The “knuckle knock” is his way of dealing with his problem. I have always been a fan, so am glad to see that NBC is willing to give him a chance.

i saw him in the celebrity poker show,Howie was wearing hand gloves because his phobia of germs,other players were making fun of him but he doesnt mind.my 3 year old son also has this thing about getting his hand dirty but not like Howie though.

My daughter has OCD.…it is a terrible thing. Congrats to Howie on making it work for him!!! Some people cant even leave the house. Lets not make fun, rather, try to help.
