To introduce their new lattes, Tim Hortons is offering a 10oz Flavoured Latte for only $1 (plus tax). Lattes are made from 100% Arabica beans and warm frothy milk and come in flavours such as caramel, vanilla, hazelnut or mint chocolate. Visit their facebook page to take the personality quiz to see what flavour is for you.

This offer is only available until February 19th at participating Tim Hortons. I couldn’t find any information on calorie and fat count for these lattes and I would be curious to know. The flavours can pack a punch and at $1 it is way too easy to over indulge.

    5g saturated fat
    .2 transfat
    130mg sodium
26g sugar (over 6 tsp sugar)

Flavoured Hot Latte Supreme (Large) 290 cal
    240g sodium
    same fat as above

(others are on the Tim’s site, under espresso bevs.

Plain Hot Latte (Small) 80 cal
    .1g saturated fat
    120g sodium
    12g sugar

I don’t think I’ll go for these, but I’m sure my son will.

I’ve only tried their version of “Chai Tea Latte”, and it was.…..gross.….to say the least. I think the term “watered down ditch water” was tossed around a few times.

I really want to like these, as the closest Star Bucks is 2.5 hours away.

Has anyone had any of the other flavors? Are they any better?

  3. Anisa

one of their small flavored lattes are 190 calories according to the nutritional calculator on their site. (they are listed under espresso beverages)

  4. Samantha

If you go on the Tim Horton’s website nutrition calculator, you can find the info on anything they carry, most of the time. The lattes are under the espresso beverages. The plain lattes have 80 calories and 0.2 g of fat for the size on promotion right now (the new small), and the flavoured lattes automatically come with one sugar in them, so this size would have 115 calories and 0.2 g of fat. They actually have fewer calories and fat than a small double double, and only 5 calories MORE than a small regular, but still lower in fat!

  5. Samantha

Sorry, I meant 5 calories more for the plain latte. It would be about 40 calories more than a small regular for a flavoured latte, though you are able to order them with no sugar.

  6. Tinmack

Had a buck vanilla latte yesterday — tastes like glop from a machine, which is exactly what it is. I’m sticking with Rotten Ronnies for a latte(when they have a B0G0 coupon) and my coffee maker for regular coffee. As well, Tim Hortons is getting confusing — the order wall is covered with too much stuff. Rotten Ronnies frozen coffee blows away Timmies iced cap as well. Hope the buck iced coffee returns in the summer.

  7. Melissa

I tried the vanilla one today and it tasted like hot water with foam. I’ll stick to Starbucks for my lattes and Mcdonalds for my coffee.

  8. Sally

I posted this last week but leaving it up since theres so many comments. I had one yesterday. Disgusting!

  9. Dani

I don’t have their lattes. I stick with tea or coffee when I’m there, and save my latte-buying for the real cafe (where they have sugar-free syrup and soy. I am THAT coffee drinker.) 190 calories for a small is too much, regardless of price.

  10. cinn

is the carmel one good? has anyone tried it? because i LOVED starbucks carmel brulee.

  11. saver

mistake for them to branch out into this area, dont much like their lattes. they should have stuck with what they are good at…making a great cup of regular coffee.

  12. Crystal

I had a caramel one yesterday, terrible. no where near starbucks caramel brulees. will not be going back for another Tims latte.

  13. tina

this tastes really bad. I would definitely recommend u save that dollar to put toward a latte at Starbucks or second cup. Definitely not the best bang for your buck. I took one sip and in the garbage it went.

  14. shawnmikey716

Big waste of a $1! I had a vanilla one yesterday, nasted like milk foamed in hot water, not sure where the vanilla was but it wasn’t in my cup! The ones pictured are the supreme and not the ones on for the $1.It was disgusting and I will not try again.

  15. shawnmikey716

Sorry that should have said “tasted” but nasted seems like a good definition :)

  16. Meeeeee23

Had the chocolate mint latte today.…..wasn’t too bad. Can’t complain for $1. I’d pay up to maybe $2 for it.

  17. Ray

Melissa: “I’ll stick to Starbucks for my lattes and Mcdonalds for my coffee.”

    Marry me?

  18. Stephanie

I am drinking a caramel one right now. Costed me $1.68 for a small (probably not $1 because I got the whipped cream). It’s not bad, but McDonald’s lattes are better. And Second Cup (although pricey) is even better than those. Starbucks gives me diarrhea so no thanks!

  19. NB

YUCK. I had one today. Thought I’d give it the benefit of the doubt despite the posts here. I had to add 2 packs of sugar to it for it to even be somewhat drinkable. I had the vanilla latte. NEVER again.…blech.

  20. lisa

my sis works at one and she told me it is skim milk powder and ground espresso with hot water and sugar for sweetened with or without flavor i liked the lattes they had when it was real 2% milk and espresso beans and syrup this new one blows. i will not buy one

  21. not brainwashed

you can get a tin of maxwellhouse flavoured coffee for as low as $3.99 ($2.49 on sale). one tin makes up to 20 cups. way better bargain than tim’s anything. plus, tim’s crap are laced with excess sugar. BAD for your teeth.

  22. young money

Regular small latte $1.12 including tax in b.c. Canada. I cant complain. I put a pack of splenda in it and its even better. The flavoured lattes probably no good with all that sugar. Stick tithe regular small lattes!

  23. Chris

Bought one today. Gross. Asked the server if it was from a mix or if it was real espresso and steamed milk. VERY confusing conversation. She told me it was a powder. Still not sure how these are made. I will stick to Starbucks and McDs.

  24. timboss

lattes are made from powdered skim milk, powdered coffee — 1 sugar is added for the flavoured ones — sugar on request for plain — so shouldn’t be sweet — flavour shots have 0 sugar. Supremes are $1.60 plus tax for small, regular or flavoured are $1.00 for small. I used to have tea lattes when using 2% milk — no more — if I wanted tea with milk, I would get tea with milk.

  25. gwennie

love the new lattes had my first the other day and have been drinking them ever since
Thanks Timmies you did it again

  26. Brad

I gave tim Hortons the benefit of the doubt…my first Latte was aweful, i had to had sugar to drink it (and I drink Starbuck bold coffee with no sugar). But I thought maybe I shouldn’t have ordered plain, so a few days later my wife and I had two flavored lattes (mint chocolate and caramel). We couldn’t even finish them…they are so bitter and off! I wish I knew how to describe it, but trust me they are aweful. Starbucks and McDonalds both make way better specialty coffee!

  27. Wendy C

I regularly buy plain lattes and love them! No added sugar. Lots of flavour. Yummmmmmmy!!!!

  28. Dylan

haha, I worked for timmies for 2 years (work at starbucks now) and watched them go down hill pretty fast. The lattes used to be real milk, real espresso, and a sugary base, but they were drinkable.

I ran into timmies a few months ago, and seeing the new latte signs everywhere, I thought they were just re-launching their espresso drinks… no. they replaced the old espresso machines with brand new nestle instant latte machines. After trying my drink, and essentially spitting it back up, I asked the girl at the till how they were made, being curious as I had just quit a month before. Essentially it’s a glorified hot chocolate machine that spits out milk powder, instant coffee and water. no “espresso”. the only reason they can call it espresso is because it’s an “espresso roast”.

anybody familiar with what a cappuccino actually is would know that it’s pretty much a latte but equal parts milk, equal parts foam. That’s the way a timmies cappuccino used to be, but now you can either get a latte, which tastes like a flavorless sugar powder in hot water, topped with milk “froth” (which is fricken disgusting btw). If you want more “coffee taste” you can get a cappuccino… I can see why it’s not equal parts “hot milk” and “milky froth”. that would be disgusting.

Mcdonalds has much higher drip coffee, and stunningly high quality espresso beverages (for a fast food joint at least)compared to Tim Hortons. They even give you a choice of milk ;)

don’t even get me started on the “real fruit” smoothies. The base was the same simple syrup we used to thin out the donut fondant. They pretty much came out with it because it was a dirt cheap way to make a ton of money.

Nothing’s fresh at Tim Hortons. except for the cookies… kinda. if frozen dough is fresh? HAHA I can only imagine how the new “lasagna casserole” is shipped to the store. sooooo gross.

but you get what you pay for right?
