Hey Sheila — sounds like you figured out a way, intentional or not, to ‘game’ Timothys out of the shipping charege. Good for you.
I finally decided to go for the “promo” so long as the 2nd free box showed up, which it did after promo code was entered. Unfortunately, the shipping charges remained, but I still went for it. As everyone has said, not great deal vs what was promised, but I cannot find a better price than what amounts to .37 per cup.
I got the same email yesterday, yet I signed up early like others are reporting.
I tried to unsubscribe as well without luck. My virus/spyware software detects suspicious/malicious cookie activity when I click the links in the email and blocks subsequent IP traffic to their website for my protection… Wish it did that when I initially signed up for the free offer!
Just like everyone else I was miffed at not getting the 4 free boxes and a crappy deal making you pay for shipping but after Sheila’s post I went and checked it out and ordered 1 box of Chai Tea and then the decaf showed up and then when I put in the code it added the Columbian and removed the shipping. That works out to a great deal!
I placed my order today using the FACEBOOKPERK promo code and received 2 free boxes (3 in total) plus free shipping. That =‘s $17.45 or $0.24 a cup. Excellent deal!
I keep adding things to the cart and nothing shows up as free … what am I doing wrong? Also, where do you enter the promo code?

I did NOT get free shipping when I placed my order after getting the famous email, that is referenced in this thread, but the recent comments about the .24 per cup deal, are making be crave …MORE coffee (at that price)
btw Calvin … you comments concerned so I ran the ‘offending email and its links’ by my IT genius son (who is also in the biz), and his analysis didn’t turn up anything unusual. So I dunno what to think about your virus protection software going off like it did?
Check out their facebook page! There is a video apology from the company. It also says they will be sending out coupons for a free 12cup box to the people that signed up. Not holding my breath, but that would be awesome!

As an aside, when I placed my order soon after receiving the ‘famous’ alternative promo email, I was charged for shipping on my invoice. After reading comments here and elsewhere that subsequent orders had FREE shipping, I contact Timothys Customer Relations, and to their credit they responded within 24hrs as follows:

Thank you for your order. I have issued a refund to your credit card for the shipping charges on your behalf.
I thought that was pretty decent of them, and will continue to be a customer, which I was before all this promo drama.
Just got an e-mail they will be sending me a coupon so we will see if this is more smoke or for real .

We love Timothy’s, I don’t know why there’s so much bad blood here, did anyone realize they were complaining about “Free” product? This promo works and it works well, I actually got a free box of Decaffeinated Colombian and a free box of Colombian Excelencia… ANNNNNND free shipping, I just finished my order: $17.45 CAD for 3 boxes of 24. (Maybe it makes a differance to order the Colombian Excelencia, because that’s our favourite anyway). Can’t wait to get our coffee!

Nora: Have you been able to find 12 packs anywhere? I’ve checked all over town and seems 12’s are impossible to find. Makes me wonder if they even make them in 12’s.
