I’ve been trying to fly to Vancouver from Toronto for a while.

It seems that whichever sale it is, the price is always around $270 one-way with taxes.

Is there a better way to go about looking for fares?

@ Joseph…lol, i’ve been looking for the opposite since the Olympics began. West Jet lies many times on their system, I found Air Canada better during these events and does have way cheaper prices.

I remember they had that 50% off sale before on westjet. Their cheapest during that day was 185. So I’m like there is no way westjet charges $370 for their regular fare price. Turns out, their cheapest regular price during regular fare days was around $230ish, if you put 50% off, its 115. I didnt see any priced like that. I just stay away from WestJet now.
Just go with Air Canada. You can get a round trip for $423 with tax ( minus $6 if you dont want aeroplan points) if you dont mind traveling on tuesday. But some sundays and saturdays do have cheaper cost. And this is regulare fares.
Any West Jet sale = Air Canada regular fare.

Hello — I’m sorry to hear that your luck hasn’t been good with Westjet. I love Westjet and have found great deals on their flights. Plus with their cheerful (and sometimes funny) staff, the flight is much more enjoyable! I have aeroplan, but will still fly Westjet every chance I get. When I’m planning a trip, I will always check Westjet Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, as well as on the weekends. To get the best deals, you should check as early as possible on those days. The best seat sale prices usually go pretty fast. I think the prices you have been finding are maybe the next available seat sale price. Both Westjet and Air Canada set a quota for the seat sale prices (for example: 6 at seat sale price A, 6 at seat sale price B, 6 at seat sale price C, etc) The prices are all sale prices, but go up as the lowest price sells out. I booked a lot of team flights, and found that I had to buy some at higher prices and then average out the costs. But flying between Toronto and Vancouver is always expensive, it seems. So any sale is probably a good thing! Good luck with your travels!
