Tickle Me Elmos, Easy Bake Ovens,Wii, Furbies, Cabbage Patch Kids, Pound Puppies, Polly Pockets, Pogs, Zhu Zhu Pets,….
Every year there is a “hot” toy for Christmas (or winter celebration). This year I haven’t seen anything or read anything thats hit the top mark with me or my kids. I can’t help but wonder what this years big hit will be.
Any guesses?
The Iphone 5 😛
G.I.Joe action figures!
smurferangers
actually it will probably be the Thundercats…
The HP touch pad 😀
I heard theres a new PSP coming out around Christmas, the new wii won’t be out until sometime in 2012.
IPAD
Lalaloopsy dolls
Yup I think it might be the Lalaloopsy Dolls. My daughter is crazy for them.
in our house it will be the box the toys came in. I read Sony was working on a video game head gear system. If its done by Christmas by money is on that.
No guesses, but AH! Love that picture!
Hopefully it won’t be any game system but something for the children to play outside like mini snowboards or ice skates cause children these days spend way too much time in front of tv and not enough outside.
@ mandydrama, there is a Halloween costume at Zellers (?) or Walmart (?): head wig $10, dress $20.
Here the lalaloopsy dolls were the “it” toy for the girls last Christmas. I am not sure what it is yet this year, the kids haven’t been all crazy about much.
There is that new elmo where you beat the drum and he dances (or something to that effect). Toys R Us is already taking pre orders for it
Really? Has it come to this? Obviously this reporter is lacking imagination if all he/she can come up with is “What Do You Think Canada’s “It” Toy Will Be For Christmas?” How about something with a current theme?

ANGRY BIRDS all the way! The little plush stuffies scream when you press them. That’s my guess…PS I didn’t mind this theme
Maybe the V-tech Reader?
The new Nike Back to the Future sneakers.
The Justin Bieber doll, and angry birds!!!
hmmm…whatever it is, my kids better not want it! Leapfrog has a new toy out called the leappad (which is fairly confusing since many moons ago their reading system was also called the leappad). It’s like an ipad for kids.
Hopefully something that encourages kids to get active and not sit in front of a screen.
Leap Pad by Leap Frog. More of less a Ipad for kids
Tell me you didn’t say the ‘C’ word in September?! 😉
I agree, the Leap pad seems to be the big thing in our group.
leap pad from leapfrog
love the Calico Critters!
Rocksmith
Leappad will be it and they will be advertised everywhere but no one will have any inventory LOL
for babies it will be the “jumper” jolly jumper style item shaped like a car page 414 in WISHBOOK.. I know I am ordering 3 for the babyboom in our network..Son cant quit talking about Star wars (complete sage release on the 16th)othere than that Angry birds and for preteen girls Monster High
leapster had a leap pad out!
Lalaloopsy Dolls were popular last year but the craze is growing in the States and it shouldnt take long for it to flow over into Canada
I always like to stick to classic toys for our nephews, this year I think they are ALL getting Lego 🙂 The youngest is 4 1/2 and he’s got two older brothers so with out a set that’s too complicated we are usually good to go and they all love it and play with it for hours…not really the IT toy persay but what I like as it’s not a VIDEO game or electronics lol I can’t stand electronics, when I have kids they are going to HATE me LOL
I think I’ve got this one. My guess is: Air Swimmers. See vid:

Does it really matter? kids have more than enough toys, and we keep buying more. I’m thinking of doing something different this year… not sure yet, but I’m tired of the crappy toys that are used for a day and never played with again. The cost of all these toys is so over the top, and they are made as cheap as possible. sorry, needed to rant after reading all these replys… 😉
We’re moving right around Christmas this year, so I’m going to suggest that if anyone plans on buying anything for the kids they invest in giftcards for places that sell more than just toys. I agree that our children have more toys than they can play with and they probably don’t need any more! I’m sure they would beg to differ 😉
some thing expensive and not in stock.
hopefully not that doll! hah, she’s hard to look at!
No joke, the CB doll you used for your photo is MY CB doll (except she has blue eyes) that I have had for 27 years, since I was 2. Some hot toys last. 🙂 I still have her “birth certificate,” signed by Xavier Roberts! lol
When I used to have to buy kids’ gifts at Christmas, my usual go-to was about $10 worth of candy at bulk barn. Quick and easy for me, but the kids parents were probably sticking pins in my voodoo doll! 😉
A Canadian book actually printed in Canada (rare to see those in stores anyways).
My daughter only wants my little pony and hello kitty….we started shopping for them because those 2 are selling out everywhere already and the Christmas frenzy hasn’t even started yet.
