SmartCanucks Free Giveaway 4 by GroceryGateway.com: Get $50 Visa Gift Card

Today’s SmartCanucks giveaway is sponsored by GroceryGateway.com.

So I decided to give Grocery Gateway a try again after almost 3 years of not having shopped with them. With the extremely busy week we had I decided for once I wanted someone to do some of the work for me … and so off I headed to Grocerygateway.com to place my order … Overall I had an excellent experience with them and there was nothing I would really change! Hopefully one day they will add a way to be able to redeem coupons – that’s something I will continue to look out for!

I took some photos of how the groceries arrived and I can say that it felt like they took good care of my order. Nothing was overly ripened, the driver was courteous, the packaging was efficient and not wasteful, etc.

The main positives I would say were:

  • Convenience!! I’ve used them in the past just after giving birth and having a newborn in the house and I must admit even this time it was extremely satisfying to not have to leave my house lol. As well the driver was even kind enough to bring the boxes right inside and put them wherever I instructed. The only job I had was putting everything away.
  • Very easy to use website with tons of selection just like a grocery store. They even carry items for gardening, beauty, home/office, magazines, and a lot more.
  • The website saves your previous orders in case you ever want to re-create a cart. It also had a section called MyStore where it saves the top 50 items you order regularly. This makes it so simple the next time around.
  • Flexible delivery times within a 2 hour window all the way from 6:00am – 10:00pm
  • All my food arrived packed nicely in re-usable boxes which they encourage you to collapse and keep aside for the next order. I love that they recycle. My meat and milk products were also bagged in case of any leakage.

This sounds great! A grocery chain near my home offers free delivery, but you have to go to the store earlier in the day to drop off your order…. not very ideal for me.

    Thanks, SmartCanucks!

  2. silver says:

I haven’t used anything like this before but I forsee my life getting a lot busier in the near future. Sounds like a pretty good service.

  3. Daniel says:

Sounds like a nifty service. The only concern I have is what if you need to ‘return’ and item (ie. rotten, expired etc).

  4. M says:

Never used it before but would if I didn’t live so close to a grocery store. Other than that some things are over priced and you don’t get the same deal you would in store.

  5. Lauren says:

A good idea but not available in my area. As long as you didnt care about using coupons or shopping around for good deals it would be a great time saver.

  6. Gilly says:

I don’t have anything like this locally, but as a military wife, whose husband is ALWAYS far away (and I don’t drive!), this would be an amazing service to have! Always dreamed of having something like this available! Better than super stocking up, before he goes away, or relying on friends to take me around:)

  7. aussie says:

    Sounds like a great idea!!

  8. Calgarymama says:

I have never tried a service like this before, but think it would be great, especially for those crazy weeks when it seems like you just can’t get organized enough to get to the grocery store!

  9. Stephania says:

I’ve never used this website and I *may* consider it in the future, especially in instances where I’m incapacitated, i.e. sick or break a leg and am unable to travel to the store.

Anyway, I think the milk should be cheaper! I just bought a 4L bag of skim milk from the Superstore for $4.17. On the grocerygateway.com site, the cheapest is like $8.49!

  10. amycanada77 says:

hmm it doesn’t look like you can use coupons or that they have very good specials (3 weekly specials that I could find) it wouldn’t save you money shopping here but it would save you time …. and “time is money” lol
with a 4 month old this seems pretty handy!

  11. polarbear88 says:

sounds great for people who don’t have a car, especially students who live in big cities. it’s annoying to carry all your groceries on the bus/subway and to not be able to get a lot of things at once because you have to carry everything! i would love to try it out!

  12. ikoo says:

i want to win i wish so , smartcanuck did a lot for me thanks gys

  13. Kathryn Admas says:

I used them once after I had surgery and couldn’t lift anything. Order arrived on time and everything was there and good quality. I would use them again if needed but can save more shopping in person with coupons!

  14. MG says:

Looks like they got your order right! I’ve never used this type of service but have heard horror stories about Gateway’s customer service and I really wouldn’t trust someone else to pick out my produce.

  15. WAKEFORSOUL says:

They don’t deliver in my area but if they did I might try it out if the prices were right and I was really busy.

  16. Janet says:

Have never used this service, seems like it could be good.

  17. TaraF says:

I haven’t used this service because it isn’t available in my area. Should it become available however it would be something I’d take advantage of during the Holidays when it seems I don’t have enough time to get out and shop.

  18. FatB says:

Sounds like s cool service, but I’ve never used it before. I live less than 5 mins away from two major grocery chains, and I’m single so I never buy so much that I’d need it delivered. Good idea for busy families though.

  19. Lynn says:

I love Grocery Gateway. I use it whenever i am unable to go out ( ie sick). I have never had any trouble with them. I’ve made crazy specific requests for fruit,i.e 3 greenish bananas and 4 yellow with no (or hardly any) spots, and got it!! I love that they don’t just leave it at your door ( unless you specify).

  20. shejayd says:

Wow, this would have been so great if they had something like this near me, I would use it every month! NEAT!

  21. Rae-Lynn says:

I wish I had known about this a year ago! I found it hard to juggle a new born and grocery shopping. Just thinking about it tires me out. I’m excited to use it when our next child arrives!

  22. Bluerose says:

Well I clicked on the the link to take a looky but you cannot get into the site unless your a member thats sad. I live in the boondocks nothing like that here……:( I am sure lots of people use this thow 🙂

  23. Deesha says:

I personally would rather go into a store to get my groceries.

  24. cheapy says:

I haven’t used them yet but I contacted them because I wanted to get a gift certificate for a pregnant friend. Bah, they don’t do gift certificates!?! Why not? This would be great, then those that can’t get out grocery shopping could order online…

  25. polacco65 says:

I have never used this service or anything like this ever. If I win (and I hope I do), it will be a nice treat for me. I have heard about them and I know that they deliver in my building and in the area because I have seen their truck. I am looking forward to this prize.

  26. Jo says:

I prefer to shop in the store (for specials and to choose my own produce) but I could definitely see it as a very useful service for those who can’t get to the store (for whatever reason)

  27. tanya3t3 says:

this looks awesome! I like it! count me in!

  28. M.E.D. says:

I’ve never used Grocery Gateway before, or a similar service, but I definitely would like to give it a try. Working overnights my schedule is sooo messed up and it makes getting to a store before close a problem. With GG I wouldn’t have to.

  29. Dimi says:

It’s a great service if you’re too busy to get to the grocery store. I personally like going to the grocery store, so I’ll use the Visa card in person ! 🙂

  30. Natalka says:

I think it’s a fabulous idea, and I think once it gets more prevalent in cities, more people will use them, delivery charges will go down and prices will be more comparable.
There was a similar service in our city for a very short time, and I think they didn’t last because their prices were outrageously expensive – I understand prices having to be a bit higher, but not so much that someone wouldn’t consider it at all.
Ideal for times when one is ill, can’t get to transportation, etc.

  31. Theresa says:

There is a similar service here in the “Peg. Prices are a bit higher, but Fresh and fast, many of my senior neighbours use it. Thanks for all the info smartcanucks!

  32. Crystal says:

Haven’t used this service before. It might be very convenient and definitely would save me money from not going into the store and leaving with WAY more than I went for!

  33. Tiffany says:

I’ve never used this service before. Could see it coming in handy if I were desperate and couldn’t get out of the house for some reason. However, with overpriced items, I’m not sure it’s feasible to do over a long period of time.

  34. Melissa R says:

This is excellent can’t wait to try it.

  35. Koon says:

Never even heard of a service like this! i personally prefer to go shopping myself, but looks interesting! Good for people who can’t drive, and have no access to stores nearby. Cool, and thanks for the Contest!!!

  36. Lynn says:

I have not used this service before. But it seems promising… Put me in as an entry please.

  37. Ann says:

I’ve never used this kind of service before, and there isn’t one currently where I live, but I would try it it if I was sick and couldn’t shop for myself. Too bad that they don’t take coupons!

  38. Melanie says:

I haven’t used this service but being on limited bedrest due to pregnancy it sure could come in handy!

  39. Edite Carlos says:

Sounds great, too bad it’s not available where I live!

  40. big momma says:

Always wanted to give them a try – sounds super easy!

  41. Cheap says:

I have never heard of GroceryGateway until now. I wish that I had known about it years ago.

  42. Carlyfalls says:

yay, awesome contest. I love this service. I wish they had one near me.

  43. Kim says:

just decided to try it out, and this comes up ‘Sorry, we do not offer delivery in your area, but we probably will be soon’!

  44. Frugal.Tea says:

I haven’t used a service like this before. I like that you can pay by interact. It seems like a good service if getting to a store is not really an option especially in the winter.

  45. sarah says:

I’ve never used or even heard of Grocery Gateway up until now. But wow…I love the concept! i’m so busy after work on some days and trying to juggle so many chores at the end of the day and be a daunting task. i’d be willing to try this out!

  46. LauraLou says:

I’m heading back to work after two consecutive maternity leaves and this would be a lifesaver!!!

  47. misslollieputty says:

I haven’t used it but I’ve seen the trucks in the neighbourhood. Watched a show on tv about it long ago – sounds like a great idea. Especially for those who are housebound or unable to make it to the store!

  48. Lisa says:

Very interesting and would consider trying in the future. I found their website a little difficult to navigate, for instance trying to find milk and cottage cheese. Would also be concerned over quality and freshness of the fruits and veggies delivered. thanks.

  49. miniv says:

That’s a very convenient way for busy customers that don’t have time to shop!

  50. Julie says:

I haven’t heard of this service before, but it sounds amazing… especially for a busy family!

  51. I have not used this particular outlet, HOWEVER I believe there is a real need for grocery delivery services. Such concepts are a God send for Seniors & people with disabilities. We have many seniors in our building that use such services and they are very thankful. I often think that when I get a bit older, I will no doubt use such a service. These outlets must concentrate on marketing to their specific clients and they will do well.

    Guy in Vic

  52. morganmom2 says:

have never used them but have heard a lot of positive about them, definetly would try them

  53. Anne the great says:

I’ve used Grocery Gateway before and I love it. The website is easy to navigate and the delivery drivers are always within the specified time range. The prices for most of their items are slightly higher, I’m assuming it’s to cover handling and delivery costs. The service comes in extremely handy during the winter months and prolonged illness. They seem to pick the freshest produce, I never once found even a single cracked egg! They mixed up my juice order once (wrong flavour) and when I called the customer service office they refunded the cost of the juice and issued a five dollar credit towards my next purchase. I also like that they pack their stuff in reusable and stackable cardboard boxes and not plastic bags. It’s a great service, just bear in mind the prices are a bit higher but not by much. Hey, if you think about it, it saves you the time, energy and petrol it would cost to do it yourself. And one more thing – it’s makes me feel all special and bourgeois to see the fancy GroceryGateway truck pull up to the driveway 🙂

  54. Mike W says:

Sounds like an inovative service but I’d be interested in knowning the quality of delivered products.

In any case like it’d be interesting to try out!

  55. Tre says:

I’ve always been intrigued about them but I also enjoy going to the grocery store, it’s my only quiet time from dh and dd. I can see how awesome it would be right after having a baby though!

  56. De says:

This sounds like a service I would totally use – as long the quality of fresh products like fruits and veggies are ok, then I’ll probably give it a try!

  57. Anna Curtis says:

Sounds like a great service. The only time I might use it if I was physically unable to get out of the house to do the shopping. It’s great to know how nicely they pack the groceries and that they recycle the boxes. Personally I like to go to the store and do the shopping myself.

  58. I have used Grocery Gateway and found the service to be terrific. I was most impressed with the quality of the produce. They picked better veggies than I do!

  59. lucky says:

I love the idea of being able to use a service like this, but none is offered in my town. Last year after having a baby it would have been very convienent. If I ever move to a place where I can use this service I would!

  60. Jessica says:

I’d be up for using this sort of service on occasion (during busy times) if I heard good reviews about quality and level of service. I also like going to the grocery store, but I think this would be great for those times in the winter or the rain when you just don’t even want to get out of bed.

  61. Mmmandie! says:

I think that this is a great idea. I have never tried them before but I would really be interested in trying it out. It would be really awesome if they did come up with a way for you to use coupons like you suggested!

  62. FallenPixels says:

I used to use a grocery delivery service in the UK from Tescos and loved it, I didn’t realise there was a company near me that made deliveries, although I have seen the trucks before.

For me the prices are only slightly higher than my local Longos (milk is $4.99 and the exact same bag tonight cost $4.19) but I can’t use coupons so I am torn

Certainly in the busy weeks though, it would be great to have the groceries dropped off

  63. Litesandsirens911 says:

Well, I personally wish their was a service like this in my area, unfortunately there is not…If I were really busy I could definately see myself using this service once in a while.
Please add my name to the contest 🙂

  64. Maria says:

I think is a great idea and very convenient specially when you don’t have a car and it can get very heavy to carry all the groceries by yourself I will definitely use their service!

  65. Mike says:

I really like the idea of someone dropping off a box of bacon at my house and not having to take the blame for bringing it into the house!

  66. Shop Girl says:

Sounds great for those who don’t have the time to go into the stores. Personally I prefer to shop in-store to pick my own produce and meats. There isn’t one in my area but there are other stores nearby that provide a similar service. Without going into a store how would you redeem coupons or FIND new coupons for that matter lol.

  67. KK7 says:

I used them maybe two years ago apx. I don’t drive so it was really nice to get delivered. My only con was sitting around waiting and a bit pricy on somethings. Funny thing is they never have given me a promo to come back. I always thought if they emailed me offering me something maybe I would try again. I found there produce good and I am picky, in fact the guy working at Fortino’s made fun of me looking through all the Necterines trying to find good ones.lol

  68. TJ says:

I would use it if their prices were similar to other grocery stores in my area 🙂 …it does save you lot of time . Also its good for Seniors or people with disability.

People order fast food all the time like Pizza , KFC etc ( & even pay a tip & delivery charge for it ) so why not groceries ?? 🙂

  69. gabrielle says:

My mom used this program when she had an operation on her hip (she was sick of people asking her to go shopping for her) and it came quickly and she could get the food she needed without all the hassle!

Great program, my mom’s store of choice!

    =]

  70. melissa says:

i havent used them yet because i always loved to do my own grocery shopping, i considered it my quiet time outside the house. Now with a baby and husband working nights and weekend shifts, im seriously considering trying it out.

  71. anna says:

having grocery delivered to my door..im not complaining..i just hope they don’t deliver moldy groceries

  72. Shannon says:

Looks like something I’d be thrilled to use in the fall when I go back to school! Less time shopping, more time spent with the family and studying (boo!)!!

  73. l.p. says:

I haven’t used the service before but would love to try it. Since I don’t drive its really cumbersome to do big shops…

    Thanks for the contest!

  74. Bargain Seeker says:

Never heard of them before. I would probably not used them on a regular basis because I like shopping around to get the best deals of the week but I might on weeks where I am too busy for grocery shopping.

  75. lokindra says:

I live in downtown Toronto. In my location, without a car, it can be very difficult to bring home a full grocery run. I used Grocery Gateway exclusively for my shopping for more than a year (50+ orders!).

Generally, I found their prices fairly reasonable (considering the fact that they have to pay someone to pick out all the groceries for you). I stopped ordering from Grocery Gateway because they fell into a pattern of delivering meat that was due to expire and were consistently running out of products that I regularly ordered (which meant I had to go to the grocery store anyway to get those products).

A note on the ‘bad meat’ thing – they always offered to replace the product (if another delivery was coming to my area) or credit me for the items…a good thing).

  76. Janet says:

I haven’t used this kind of service but I know Spud in Vancouver delivers groceries. I love to try it though!

  77. Zayxic says:

Interesting! I would love to give them a try. =)

  78. vik says:

Would give it a shot….sounds interesting..

  79. I would love to win this! I would definetely give this type of thing a try. 🙂

  80. Katy says:

I WISH they had a service like this closer to me. Trying to grocery shop with 2 kids can sometimes be insanity!! I have checked out grocery gateway before just to see what it is like and it seems very user friendly!

  81. Rekzai says:

A service like this would be really useful for me since I hardly have any time to go grocery shopping. I’m definitely gonna check it out.

  82. Lindsay L says:

I have not used a grocery service before, however I think it is a great idea. I know a family who uses Grocery gateway and has all of the regular items they need every week delivered, then when they need additional items its just a quick trip to the store. I know from my own experience grocery shopping is becoming a little more difficult with my toddler who wants to run around the store and touch everything. I may be using this service myself quite soon!

  83. Ashley says:

I’ve never used grocerygateway.com before, but it sounds like it would be very convenient. I would like to check it out in the future!

  84. karen says:

That would be amazing…groceries at your door–i just wonder how competitive they are with their prices!
    Karen

  85. trucks12trucks says:

sounds like a great service (:

  86. L says:

Haven’t used it before, mainly because I like to comparison shop & I find better deals elsewhere. But I can see myself using it for the convenience factor.

  87. mjaas says:

    Awesome! Hope I win!

  88. Kelvin says:

To be honest, I haven’t really thought about buying groceries online but after reading your post, I might have to try it out sometime 🙂

  89. Divya Santhanam says:

This looks like a great service and very handy especially during the harsh winter that we have here in Saskatchewan.

  90. mist_ynight says:

I wish there was a company like this where I live. I would definatly use them! I hate grocery shopping and this would be so convient.

  91. spiritedside says:

A good idea but not available in my area:(:(:(

  92. Michelle says:

I have not yet tried this service but it would be so convenient not to have to take my son grocery shopping with me.. I do so hope to win this so I can give this kind of shopping a try.

  93. Michael says:

Another great contest by the best deals website in Canada.

    Thanks,

  94. kato says:

Ohhh This is great! I’ve never tried it before but was curious about it.

  95. CaraMiaxxx says:

My girlfriend uses GroceryGateway.com all the time and she swears by it. She has tried to get me to try it but I’ve always been hesitant about it. If I win this contest, I’d love to give it a go!

  96. NateandAva says:

I would love this service if it was affordable. I could have used this when I had a newborn either time!! Too bad they are not available to deliver to my area.

  97. cheryl says:

I think this is a great service for people that need it .. I don’t think I would use it seeing as I really like to do my own grocery shopping and of course use coupons!

  98. Kris says:

I would LOVE to try a service like this but unfortunately I live in a rural area where this will never happen. I’m not sure I would use it all the time but it sure would be handy for those crazy busy weeks.

  99. leecan says:

I do think about the money that could be saved from following sales that gg would not offer – that’s what gg needs to provide – price matching!

  100. Burcu says:

haven’t used it yet but sounds great!

  101. Chantel says:

I think that Grocery Gateway is a good idea, and that there are probably a lot of people that would find it useful. Personally, I like grocery shopping and I don’t plan on giving it up any time soon.

  102. hasti says:

This seems a good service. havn’t used it before

  103. Courteney Fonger says:

I have never used this service before, but it sounds like a great idea! I don’t know if our area has anything like this, but I definitely think there is a market for it in any major city depending on the associated costs. I would love to win this giveaway!

    🙂

  104. Catherine L says:

I don’t think I’d want to use a service like this even if there was one in my area. I kind of like going to the store myself and seeing what kind of deals they have. Side note: Stephania $4.17 for 4L of milk is a great price – wish that’s all I had to pay. Where I live on the east coast I paid $4.09 today for a 2L carton of 0.5% (can’t get bags here either). It’s made right here too, not like we have to pay for it to be brought in.

  105. mpbabes says:

I have never used this service but have played around on their website. Considering they don’t actually have a store, I found them to be very expensive. I’m a little hesitant on things like produce and meat. I mean, how do they know how I like my bananas? maybe I like the really green one..KWIM?

The flipside is, this would be very convenient if I knew I wasn’t going to have time to make it to the grocery store. With a few clicks my shopping would be done…

but tell me…how can I use coupons???????? LOL

  106. mary says:

I would use it if I ever had to order a lot of groceries…otherwise, just not that many people in my household to make it worthwhile. And I admit I really like deals and stocking up on whatever random “cheap” items I see while browsing. =) But it looks like they bring you everything in good order, and I see the GG trucks driving around in my neighbourhood sometimew, so if my life circumstances change one day, I might use them. =)

  107. Shaunna says:

We Have a very extremely busy household…so this looks like my “calgon moment” and one way I could pamper myself for a change….love it!

  108. Christine says:

this has been an idea I have wanted to try for a while now. My husband works long hours and I hate taking my 2 kidlets to the store cause they want everything.

  109. Sharon says:

Never had something like this before in my area. So, this seems really neat!

  110. Jenny says:

I would love to try this service, especially in the winter!

I receive a local organic produce delivery, which has been incredibly helpful to me living here.

  111. CarlyinCanada says:

Looks like a great service if your busy, or home ill & can’t get out or don’t drive…They don’t deliver in my area SW ONT but if I win I could trade it i guess…

Years ago we used to have a local grocery store N&D (family owned) that used to deliver groceries in paper bags! LOL Those were the days!

  112. Emma says:

If there is one in my City, I will definitely try. Who knows? Emergency or anything comes up, might need this.

  113. Edward says:

A very interesting way of shopping for grocery. I sort of like the idea. 🙂

  114. keykitty says:

I’ve used something like this before, it went alright. It’s really good during the winter when you don’t have a car.

  115. LJW says:

Haven’t used the service yet. It is run by Longos. They have fantastic produce and customer service. I would not be concerned about any bad products but it it did happen, i am sure they would take care of you.

  116. Tara says:

I would like to try this someday.

  117. SarahG says:

I have been considering using the service lately now that I work quite late, and I don’t want to tie up my weekends standing in line at the grocery store.. it seems like good value for the convenience of it.

  118. CAD says:

One negative thing about using a service like Grocery gateway is that we wont be able to check the clearance section like we would otherwise.

  119. Bre says:

I have a friend who uses this service, and she loves it.
I will have to try it myself……………………

  120. Tara says:

I do enjoy grocery shopping but it does feel like somedays I could use my time more wisely. I am not sure if there is such a service in Winnipeg but if it was reasonably priced, I would be interested.

  121. rainy says:

I cant say I have ever used a service like this ….but it looks like a great idea!

    another great contest thanks!

  122. Stacey says:

I think a huge advantage of a service like this would be that, while you might pay a little more for the groceries, it would stop those “impulse buys” I can’t seem to resist when walking through a grocery store!

  123. MamaCC says:

Why have I never thought of this before?! With a quick search, I just found something VERY similar available in my city! I can see this coming in handy in the future and will definitely have to use this service. This is a must for any new parent or for anyone recovering from an illness or surgery! I’m impressed. 🙂

  124. JenO says:

I’ve often thought of giving Grocery Gateway a try, but there’s just something about being able to pick your own fruit, check out new products and find good deals in the flyer that I just don’t think it would be the same experience on-line. Maybe one day I will give it a try though, just to prove myself wrong!!

  125. kittyboots says:

Sounds like a great service I would like to try in the future

  126. tinad says:

I’ve never used it myself, but I do know a neighbour that did who had two newborn twins. The service was invaluable to her. I know that it would definitely be a bonus for those every day staples, no long line ups? Great! Meat & produce would probably be something that I’d rather pick out.

  127. Babyboy says:

I used a similar service when I lived in the USA, and it was great! Really convenient …

  128. lazy_prodigy says:

I think this is great for those who are not able to leave the house for various reasons, but you do have to pay the premium prices. On the other hand, so much time is saved by not having to actually go to the stores and buying the items yourself. This service is not for me but there is a niche who would love it.

  129. winni says:

Sounds like a great service to save time

  130. Julie says:

I honestly wish I had such a service available to me in my town, would be awfully convenient for groceries that I always buy routinely, for cuts of meat, pastries and other stuff I would just go buy directly. Awesome idea.

  131. Daypassdel says:

We don’t have a service like that in our area, but I would love it!

  132. Jessica says:

I’ve never used GroceryGateway.com but that does sound like the perfect service if you have a newborn baby and can’t get out to shop. Also, from the photos they chose very fresh looking vegetables and fruits which is very admirable and honest of the company. I am glad that I know about it because I am thinking of using it.

  133. Hailey says:

I have not used a service like this yet but I think if it was decently priced this could be a good tool for me in university as a student. Since I work for the university and I am a student and I don’t have a car to go grocery shopping it makes it really difficult to get groceries when I need them. I think this website could be very beneficial for me and really help me mainly by saving a lot of time.

  134. ribbons says:

Glad you had such a positive experience. Word of mouth is very valuable. Will consider this for the future. Thanks.

  135. Love Junkie says:

As much as I loooove grocery shopping, this would be a huge time saver. It looks and sounds like they pick fresh produce too and make sure everything comes to you safe and undamaged so that’s a huge plus. Perhaps I’ll give grocerygateway.com a go!

  136. wayne905 says:

I used to use Grocery Gateway once or twice a month when I lived in an apartment building. Service was always excellent. Not having to search for a shopping card in the building, then schlep groceries up from my car, into the elevator and into my suite was a great (and quite a timesaver). I’ve used the occassionaly since moving to a house.

  137. Christa says:

I tried when I lived in Barrie a few years back but their delivery options was terrible. It was next week at mon, wed or fri morning. I hardly know what I am doing tomorrow.

  138. cheepsqueek says:

cool idea, I’ve never tried such a thing, too bad they don’t accept coupons.

  139. sassypants says:

Sounds like an interesting service, but I love to run around stores and look for sales myself, LOL!

  140. divaonadime says:

Are they price competitive? Do they tack on any additional fees? I think that there would be more of an incentive for consumers to use the service if they accepted coupons or offered “instore” coupons. I’ll give the website a look.

  141. Coupon Flower says:

The site has good selection of baby products (formula, diaper, baby food, etc) so it is great for moms who cannot just go to the store (for all of you moms out there…you know what I mean)!

  142. SuperMel says:

I’ve never heard of this, but LOVE the idea!

We used to have a “Take Out” delivery service called Dine11 that I really miss… You placed your order online for multiple restaurants like Elephant & Castle and Tony Roma’s and your food would be hot and at your door within the hour! It was way better then pizza delivery!

If I could do my grocery shopping from home, it would be almost as good!

  143. moony25 says:

    WOW
this sounds great i would like to try it

  144. Linda says:

I would not have a need for this type of service as I enjoy shopping and thankfully have the time to do so. I also enjoy shopping for deals and using coupons. However, I can see how it could be of service to those who are to busy to shop, disabled or are elderly. It sounds like a good company. Here in the town that I live in, a local grocery store offers delivery of groceries. The orders are placed via a phone call and there is a $5.00 delivery fee. I have never used their services so I am not sure how efficient they are.

  145. Rocky says:

sounds interesting…however not sure if it works perfectly…would definitely like to try it…tx

  146. Sam says:

Gift certificates to such a service would be a truly appreciated baby shower gift or seniors birthday gift. Or anyone else with limited mobility or time. I have had organic veggie delivery in the past, which was convenient and fresh, but seeing as we are all SCers, it is hard to get past the inflated prices.

  147. freestuffforme says:

I’ve never used Grocery Gateway, but I did look into it in the past (years ago). I ultimately decided that the cost was not worth the convenience. I’m not sure if it’s offered in the city where I currently live.

The service seems a bit wasteful to me – delivering groceries from who-knows-where to who-knows-where – but I’m gradually becoming more reluctant to use many large-scale grocery vendors… Like many other ‘convenience’ services, I’m sure this would be great for super-busy people, disabled, elderly, etc.

  148. M@ says:

I avoid prepared foods; I prefer value over convenience, and I like to cook, so prepared foods are easy to avoid. And I like to see raw foods — meat and vegetables — up close before I buy them. So Grocery Gateway doesn’t fit well with my consumption pattern.

That said, I used them early on — eight or nine years ago, in fact — and was very happy with the couple of orders I placed with them. I did have some grapes that went moldy very quickly, and when I phoned to complain, I believe they had already credited me as they had had other complaints and automatically credited all the buyers of the product.

So the prices aren’t great, and it’s not in line with the way I shop, but the service and convenience are very good.

  149. Rebekah says:

I’ve only heard good things about grocery gateway. My friend relied on them when she had her baby, they were so convenient.

  150. Audrey T says:

Sounds like a really nifty service, I wouldn’t mind trying it out one day.

  151. T says:

I might try if I’m too old or sick to go to the store. I would like to pick produce by myself.

  152. Vsaint says:

There used to be one right next to my house.
Haven’t used before, but friend worked there.
It pretty much evens out, once you factor in the shipping you pay.

  153. lotus-star says:

I’ve never tried any grocery delievry services before, but I does sound it would come in handy when life gets busy!

  154. jax says:

I have been very tempted to use this service but have never gone through with an order. I really don’t mind doing the grocery shopping and enjoy looking around for “deals”. Obviously this service would be of use to certain people and would definitely save time, once you got used to ordering online.
    jax

  155. Juan says:

What a great idea! If the price is right… I would love to have this service for those busy weeks…

  156. Nancy says:

It seems like a great time-saver, but I personally like to select my own produce.

  157. Grace says:

My friend uses this service regularly, and absolutely loves it – I have only ever heard great feedback about them. 🙂

  158. Lynne says:

Never used them though tempted to in the past – the older I get the more appealing it becomes !!

  159. Wendy says:

I have honestly never used GroceryGateway.com or any service like that, but I will definitely be keeping this in mind when my next baby arrives! With a husband on the road all the time and two busy little ones, it would be a wonderful luxury to not have to go out with three little ones!! 🙂

  160. kanika says:

I don’t think I could get someone else to pick my produce I’m very picky with that stuff. I would give it a try atleast once though.

  161. Chantall says:

Heard lots of good things about it but I myself haven;t gotten around to it. Itwould be very convenient in suiting my busy lifestyle.

  162. Mariecelle says:

I’ve never used this kind of service, but wouldn’t mind trying it 🙂

  163. mom2boxers says:

    would love to try them.

  164. val goodfellow says:

I have been meaning to try them out for sometime now, things are so busy around our house it would be nice to take going to the grocery store off my list of things to do.

  165. ebest says:

when I have a family I will look into using a service like this.
for now, I am on a student budget and shop around for the best deals.

  166. Kerrie says:

I have no previous experience shopping online for groceries. It could be time-saving for people who get distracted in stores(like me). =) The bottom line is, you better be pretty busy to buy groceries this way!! I must say, I’m glad they seem to keep food fresh and everything.

  167. Jennifer H says:

Would love to give this a try!Never used a grocery delivery service before, but with baby #3 due later this year,it would sure come in handy!Something like this would sure be welcomed around that time:)

  168. anisa says:

    interesting

  169. twice.his says:

I’ve considered using an organic grocery delivery service where they decide what goes in the box. I remember (back then) my only choice would be in the size of box (large or small)!

  170. Oink says:

I would love to try them. Trying to juggle school and work is hard enough, but lacking a car makes it even harder. Also, 50$ of groceries would feed me for a month, leaving me with more time to study instead of figure out how I am going to buy groceries this week!

  171. Jess.S. says:

I LOVE the idea of FREE food…especially when I can shop from the comfort of my chair…and face ZERO lines when checking out! Choose ME!

  172. abbasgirl says:

I’ve never used a service like this. I actually like shopping though and I think it would kill me to not be able to use coupons! 🙂

  173. Kari says:

I would love to use a service like this, at certain busy times of life, like being pregnant, having a new baby in the house, Holidays, etc.
I have used an organic delivery service before, and it was very convenient!

  174. Insane says:

I would love an online grocery store where I live. With hockey, gymnastics, skating, swimming, ect, ect, ect….. my life is crazyness already. It would be so much nicer to be able to sit down at the computer before bed and place my order instead of having to spend 60-90mins on the weekend in the grocery store. Not to mention how much seniors and those without cars would benefit. Especially in the nasty winters we Canadians get! I would love to not have to go out in freezing dead of winter to get milk, ect..

  175. WestcoastMom says:

I have never tried this kind of service. I can see how it would be appealing when you have a newborn though. I will have to remember it when number two comes along!

  176. Sammy says:

It is excellent and convenience 🙂

  177. natalia says:

It’s a great service if you’re too busy to get to the grocery store!

  178. Mary says:

We were just talking about Grocery Gateway @ my daughter’s preschool this a.m. So handy for time-crunched families!

  179. Karen says:

I used them a few times when I lived in an apartment. Might try them again this winter.

  180. About_time says:

I will try this as long as there’s no delivery charge and as long as the person choosing the items do a good job!

  181. kris10 says:

i think that it is a great idea for many people with not enough time on their hands.

  182. Beatrice says:

Wow, it is not available near my home, but I love that idea !

  183. Sandy says:

I would definitely use something like this, especially for those long work weeks when I am too tired to grocery shop, but don’t want to eat out.

  184. David says:

    Thanks!

  185. seapotato says:

    sounds like an interesting service!

  186. ThatguyRob says:

My concern is abotu the price. For me it takes 10 mins to my local no Frills where i get food at a non premium price. But then again there are persons that cannot physically get to one so the convenience is there. Sounds like a good service IMO.

  187. gudeitaimu says:

It’s definitely a very interesting idea. I wish there’s one in my area that I can give it a try in winter when I don’t want to go anywhere:)

  188. Robyn says:

I’ve definitely never tried it, but I would love to… especially with my busy schedule!! It would come in handy. 🙂

  189. Ray says:

Free delivery sounds great and would be very helpful for many people who can’t bring home their groceries for whatever the reason. This service seems very organized as well, judging by the pictures.

  190. maggie says:

My daughter-in-law uses Grocery Gateway often. With young children & in an appt. this service is a lifeline. She gets exactly what she wants, the produce is super fresh & courteous delivery right to her door.l will definetly try it especially in the winter when getting to the stores is difficult. Bravo Grocery Gateway ,this is an awesome service.

  191. Melody Halls says:

I’ve ordered Chrisco hampers in the past. They came 4 times a yaer and I found it saved quite a bit of money. I don’t do it antmore because now I’m a couponer and save WAY more than I used to.

  192. ASMDRANGON says:

We don’t have the GroceryGateway service in our city. But it sounds a very great idea that when you can’t go grocery shopping by yourself.

  193. Holly says:

This really excites me for when I start having little ones! The closest thing I have tried is down in California there is a service that delivers take out from your favorite restaurants so your not just stuck with chinese or pizza as take out.

  194. Cindy Wong says:

I’m a big flyer and coupon type of girl, so I’ve never used the service, but i’ve always wanted to try it. I’ve heard good things about it from friends. Definitely think it would be more convenient especially if you can’t get out of the house (b/c it’s so difficult to take kids out anywhere these days). 🙂

  195. Sunday says:

This would be a great service for those weeks I just don’t want to waste an hour or two in a grocery store, especially during the summer. I do use coupons and price match though which would be only downfall.

  196. Zookeeper says:

Sounds like a great idea if you are extremely pressed for time. Does not appear that any of these providers of this service offer acceptance of coupons etc. Great for convenience but my concern is that it will not save any $$$ Based on this aspect I personally would be hesitant to use the service due to cost. I also see how this service would be of great benefit if you are challenged in getting about to the stores for whatever reason. Great service for those in the niche market

  197. Angela says:

I used a grocery delivery service when I broke my ankle and was house bound for two months; the food was delivered in plastic shipping boxes, any frozen food was in freezer bags and was delivered on time. I wasnt overly happy with the fruit delivered, as Im pretty picky about which ones I choose to buy (looks, freshness etc) but my hubby said that he thought they did a great job. The prices were comparable to bricks and mortar stores. There was a small delivery charge, which was eliminated, if you bought more. Sadly the company was bought out by a larger company, and the service went downhill quickly, so I no longer use their services. However, Im considering spud.ca as they have a lot of new promos for new customers.

  198. shan6008 says:

I’ve never used this type of service but would consider it if the price was right and I was having a busy week.

  199. maple says:

I hope I will win this time!

  200. Mini says:

never used it before but I would consider using it if I live in a place that’s not near grocery store.

  201. Kari says:

I’d love to give something like this a try, especially with the countdown on for baby #3! It would sure ease the burden when you really don’t have the time, etc. to hit the store!!

  202. happy2 says:

It looks like a good alternative. I would consider using it.

  203. Melissa says:

I’ve never tried it, the only grocery delivery service I’ve seen locally is only available for seniors. Looks like they did a good job with your order though!

  204. Mi says:

I’ve never heard of this service before – but this would be convenient when you’d like to order heavier groceries and don’t have a car.

  205. iHope says:

Life will be better if I have this one.

  206. Brad says:

I used to use them regularly, then they were bought out and I was mad that existing customers couldn’t use all the coupons they were printing for $25.00 off.
I switched back to the supermarket, but I think I still have those boxes around here somewhere

  207. jones03 says:

yep, very convenient. but I agree with the earlier comments, I might be more inclined to use it if they offered coupons, or sponsored more freebies like this. But overall, I find Longos to be a bit pricey compared to other chains.

  208. BL says:

This would be a great for time management and planning meals ahead of time!

  209. MzzDymez says:

I love grocery gateway, I used to order from there ocassionaly when the mississauga transit use to be my main mode of transportation and I loved how I didn’t have to take the bus to take a trip to the grocey store which was far holding tons of bags, they have excellent customer service and I really like how they take debit as I don’t use credit cards.

  210. Ashley says:

Interesting! I’ve never heard of this before, but it sounds awesome!

  211. Christina says:

I have never heard of this service, but it sounds intriguing. I intend to take advantage of this in the future. Thanks for the tip! It will be a huge help when my hands are tied.

  212. JEB says:

Not available where I live, but a brilliant idea.

  213. Zook says:

Would be especially great for mothers of young children, disabled, and elderly. I would have used it when I had young children at home. Getting them ready, all the work of transporting them, and facing tantrums at the grocery store, buying stuff you don’t need…, all avoided.

  214. Heidi McMaster says:

I would definitely try something like that if there was a service in my area. I’m a full-time teacher and a busy mom, and right now (report cards, end of the year craziness) I could really use some grocery delivery! 🙂

  215. Brenda says:

I like to pick up my own groceries. 🙂

  216. Clement says:

It sounds really convenient, since I work quite a bit and when I’m not working I’m usually just relaxing and don’t want to move about too much. This would be perfect, saves gas and time! I would definitely give it a try if there was one near me!

  217. Heidi P says:

A service such as GroceryGateway.com is great for those shut-ins, mom’s with small babes or those that just are short of time for shopping. What a fantastic way to get your groceries from the store to your door.

  218. Jen says:

They do not deliver in my area, but there are many similar companies I have seen in the Vancouver area. I can see the benefit of using such a service 🙂

  219. Chrystine says:

Me too! I like to pick up my own groceries 🙂

  220. misskitty_79 says:

I’ve thought about using them (or similar services) in the past, but always balked when I compared a sample cart to an actual grocery list.
I tend to use a lot of coupons & almost always buy store brands, something grocerygateway doesn’t seem to carry, so the added costs just make things too expensive.
If they accepted coupons & carried cheaper store or no name brands, I’d definitely make the switch. 🙂

  221. thegirl says:

I love picking up my own groceries but I have looked over the website and it seems like it would be an awesome service to use! 🙂

  222. fayemercier says:

I haven’t used this service before but it sounds like a great idea 🙂 Taking 3 small kids to the grocery store can be a nightmare!

  223. couponmom says:

From the picture, it looks like the produce is in good shape! There is no service like this in my area but the concept is a great idea for those who would need it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

  224. Melody113 says:

Have never tried it but love the idea

  225. LEONA BULGIN says:

We have a small grocery store in our town that has provided this service for years now – it’s a great idea for those that can’t always get out themselves for various reasons. Would love to see Grocery Gateway here as well as they provide so much more variety!

  226. leftie says:

What a great idea – something my mother could use about now – broke her leg and had surgery yesterday to insert pins and now no weight on her leg for 12 weeks.

  227. Rylkat says:

I’ve looked at Grocery Gateway before, but it’s not available in my area. Currently, I live less than 15 mins away from my grocery store of choice, and have quite a few shops even closer than that. However, this service would have been really convenient when both drivers in my household were working crazy overtime (so no time to shop), and the 3rd person was unable to go shopping (recovering from surgery & no driving or heavy lifting).

  228. quebe says:

what a great idea but i wished they would take coupons

  229. No name :) says:

looks neat, they don’t deliver to my area tho 🙁

  230. julyprincess says:

wow, that IS convenient! Would be nice if they accepted coupons though or even had their own coupons each week for products!

  231. Ceren says:

Never used this service, but it sounds like a good idea to give it a try if I am not able to go to grocery shopping for health/personal reasons. otherwise, I love going to the grocery store and use my coupons to save some money 🙂

  232. linny says:

I’ve used grocery gateway before. With promos the price is great but without any coupons the price does get expensive. I love the convienience of not having to leave your home and you can choose the time for them to deliver as well, which is great!!

  233. Andree Gagne says:

My mother used to shop this way 40 some years ago. I wish is was offered by more stores. Would sure save me the time and trouble.

  234. dwankrista says:

We do not have a service like this in my city, but I remember growing up in a small town and having grocery delivery available from the local store. It was so convenient, especially for my grandmother who was often unable to shop of her own. I think such services are fabulous, when they are run well of course. With our busy lives, convenience is always welcome!

  235. seylz_gurl says:

This is a great service for people who are physically unable to get to the store themselves.

  236. mommasaver says:

Grocery Gateway is a great thing especially when you don’t drive and your hubby goes out of town for business! Haven’t used it in awhile, but still a good thing.

  237. Cassia says:

I’ve never tried their services (or anything similar) but I would definitely give it a shot! Time is money, so it would be helpful to have someone else run around and collect the groceries while I spent quality time doing something else!

  238. Slamjam says:

This would be awesome to Win!! Just in time for Canada Day!

  239. Dch says:

I’ve never heard of this before but what a good idea! This would be especially great for someone who doesn’t drive or can’t leave their house, especially the retired. It’s funny because me and my great aunt were just talking about how everything around here gets delivered, beer etc but never an actual BOX with groceries in it – like something that actually makes the delivery worthwhile.

  240. Jillian says:

I would love something like this, but I don’t think anything is available in Nova Scotia!

  241. Jen says:

Sounds awesome! I’ve never used something like this before, but it would sure be convenient!

  242. wendymac says:

I don’t use the service but I visited the site. It would be a godsend when I am working to a deadline but I would miss being able to shop the “unannounced specials” and marked down section at my grocery store.

  243. Dex says:

Always wanted to try this service. With a baby coming, I definitely will be very soon!

  244. Noshie says:

I’ve never used this service, but sounds like a great idea.

  245. Sonia says:

I like the idea of grocery gateway, as it would be awesome to use and I have a couple of times, but I find they never have any of their special offers on the gateway website, if they did that, I would definitely use them more….

  246. Erin says:

I have used grocery gateway, and I enjoy that you can pay debit at the door, at least you could when I used it. Very convient.

  247. aneksha says:

Have never tried but think it’s a wonderful idea

  248. MichelleG says:

This service reminds me of when I was young (in the 50’s) and we lived in a small town of 580 people. My mother would call the local store, place her order and it would be delivereed at the door later in the day.

  249. zeekid says:

This would be a great service for anyone who can’t get to store. You get the same quality with the added convenience of not having to physically go to the store. We don’t have anything like that where I live but I know my home town has a couple of small stores with a similar service.

  250. wrinkles says:

I have never used such a service but it sounds great!

  251. kaya says:

I would love to use this service. But I do love grocery shopping!

  252. mnyyoungs says:

Pretty smart idea…and am glad it is still going!!!!

  253. PAT says:

I have 10 grocery stores within a 10 minute drive, so I have never considered it, but it would be a good idea for an older person that cant get to the store, or when the stores are busy just before holidays.

  254. Aimee says:

I think it’s a great service for busy Moms that just can’t make it out of the house to shop once in awhile. However, I do prefer going to the grocery store myself most of the time.

  255. ownedbytoby says:

I’d love to try the service but like you mentioned it would be great if they took coupons.

  256. thepixie says:

I’ve only ever heard terrible things about their customer service and administration (ie: mischarges, overcharges, etc.), but I’d definitely give them a second look. The convenience factor is huge, and if they’ve recently made dramatic improvements, I’d definitely consider using their services.

  257. Robin says:

I would love to try this service. My husband and I both work full time on split shifts so that we can each be with our children full time as well. We rarely have time to do anything together like the groceries! It would be nice to sit down with him and go shopping even if it is on the computer!

  258. jaykrz says:

I have not used this service, but I am very interested.

  259. Kailey says:

I’ve seen grocery gateway’s trucks in other people’s driveways before but never really thought about trying it myself. Now that I’m married (and have to do the grocery shopping myself!!!) it really seems like a good idea. I have to work late and I don’t want to rush to grocery stores before they close to grab all my things…so I would defintely try them out in the future!

  260. afshi says:

would love my inlaws to try this!

  261. Sumita says:

Used to use them. Good quality, timely service, but the range was limited then…haven’t been on for a while. They were very useful for essentials after I had my baby..

  262. Nokos says:

I haven’t used this service before. What concerns me is the selection of food that they have given that I am a very picky eater. Interesting idea nonetheless, I might just give this thing a shot.

  263. Tammy says:

I’ve considered using the Grocery Gateway service before as it sounds really handy to have your groceries delivered right to your door. My only concern was about fresh organic produce since I’m always picky about which ones I pick and wonder if they are as picky when selecting your grocery order. For example I only buy organic strawberries but often the containers have some that are already going bad in them because there are no pestisides on them to preserve them so you really have to sift throgh them to find a good container with mostly fresh ones. I was not sure if a delivery service like Grocery Gateway would guarantee I’m happy with the produce selected for me and what they’d do if I wasn’t.

  264. Sandy says:

I would love to have this service in my town. I HATE grocery shopping.

  265. MaRy says:

I have never used a service like this before but sounds sooo convenient!! Interesting way of grocery shopping! I hope I get picked!!!

  266. sjrbaggs says:

There is not a service available in my area however it looks like a good idea!

  267. Annie76 says:

Maybe its a good idea, but I rather go at grocery store to “feel” what I buy.

  268. Jems says:

I have never used a service like this but I would definitely be willing to try. If there is one in my area!

  269. Kerri says:

I always go to the grocery store to get my groceries but I would love to give this a try. It would be great for the busy life I have!

  270. Marissa says:

Unfortunately they aren’t available in my area – but I’d be happy to try it out!!!

  271. cali says:

I’ve never used it but only because I am very specific about the fruits and vegetables I choose. If you buy a lot of boxed items it would be really convenient. I would definitely use an alcohol-delivery service though LOL

  272. Teri says:

    Great idea!

  273. hogama says:

I love, love, love this idea!! It’s about *time*. haha

  274. Rebecca says:

I’m having a baby soon and I agree this would be a good time saver! Will be trying it out soon.

  275. PandaBR says:

Our town used to have a phone in service for seniors. I think it was cash payment at the door. I wonder if a small town could sustain a web service if they limited the number of items available?

  276. HOT STUFF says:

This service would be handy but we don’t have one out here. However at the same time I enjoy getting groceries usually, it’s my alone time!!

  277. Liwly says:

I have never used Grocery Gateway. I could not possible use them unless they allowed coupon use.

  278. Zay says:

This is a great idea. I haven’t used this service but sounds like it might be very handy some time. Thanks.

  279. agatha says:

I agree, it’s a great idea and I have used them in the past. It’s really convenient, specially for carless people like me!

  280. Stephanie says:

This would make my life so much easier!!

  281. wisefly says:

Sounds like a great idea! I’ve always meant to give it a try!

  282. iloveluca says:

This is a surper handy service – especially for people who have trouble getting out of the house like new moms, the elderly or people who’ve just had surgery. One thing I DON’T like about grocerygateway.com is that unless you live in their service area, you can’t even browse their site! I would have liked to look around and see what kind of prices and products they have. No such luck.

  283. T. Doyle says:

I’ve been using them for over 7 years now and find the service to be really good. They occasionally make mistakes, but have been quick to fix them. I do wish I could sue coupons and I have to watch what I buy (stuff is cheaper at RCSS for the most part), but without a car it’s hard for me to lug home heavy stuff like milk, juice, flour (I bake my own bread), etc. so it’s really nice to have it delivered and cheaper than taking a cab.

  284. Ramram says:

This is great for many people who can’t go around shopping , especially when you have newborn babies , I never new about this when i needed it!!but now i prefer going around and to choose what i need 🙂

  285. StephanieB says:

Wow! I will definitely keep this in mind when I have my second little one in November – this sounds like a great idea!! 🙂

  286. Steenibambini says:

I used to see Grocery Gateway A LOT in my old neighbourhood, probably at least once every couple weeks. Seems like a really convenient way to get groceries, especially if you have children!

  287. Andrea says:

I’ve always wanted to try Grocery Gateway. If I won this contest I would finally get the chance! Thanks for the pics; gives you an idea of what you can expect.

  288. nawaz says:

haven’t tried it but would love to 🙂

  289. heididesiree says:

awesome, someone else doing the shopping. 🙂

  290. momoforever says:

Convenient if you’re stuck at home or working a lot. Not good if you’re on a tight budget.

  291. Rimma says:

I’ve always been a little hesitant to do online shopping but this seems like something handy to do when you’re just running out of hours in the day… I definitely wouldn’t do it on a weekly basis, but once in a while would definitely be worth while!

  292. tink42 says:

I personally have never used this service but I can see it being very helpful in many instances. If you are recovering from an illness, recently had a baby, a student at university without a car etc.

  293. Lynfan says:

I would love to give this a try and hope I win! thanks!!

  294. Eva C says:

Great way to service those who are not as mobile and may have trouble getting in & out to get fresh groceries. Love the neat packaging and careful arrangement of the delivery!

  295. crystal says:

Have never used this service, seems like it could be good.

  296. meg1112 says:

Looks neat! I would try it

  297. Paula says:

I have been waiting for a service like this for a LONG time, unfortunately it is not available in my area yet, but promises to be soon! I hate grocery shopping and if I could have the things I need delivered to my door I would do so in a heart-beat!

  298. Thommy says:

I’ve used the service before but not for several years. It worked as advertised and it sure was convenient but I have had a lot of food allergies since and I enjoy going into the stores and looking at all my options as I require a lot more specialty products.

  299. Bonnie says:

I haven’t tried such a grocery service, but with a little one on the way, I just might!

  300. S&N says:

When my nephew was born, the baby and my sister in law had to be at the hospital for two weeks. My brother was home alone most nights and went to bed hungry, since he missed his wife and baby and didnt know how to cook and only went grocery shopping to pay( what would these men do without us). my Sister in law ordered online at grocerygateway.com from her room in the hospital for his fav cookies and sodas and chips and some frozen meals to be delivered to the house so he would have something to eat for the two weeks she was nt there. I would totally use their services !!!

  301. Theresa says:

Hadn’t heard of this, but would LOVE to try. I live in rural Ontario though and who knows if it would even be available. Anything that means not having to go to the grocery store is a good thing!

  302. Tina says:

I’m so busy with my baby that often I don’t have time to go out for grocery shopping. This service would be convenient for me as I do almost everthing online now.

  303. Kloee says:

nothing better than having your groceries delivered to your door!!

  304. dawndilinger says:

    This sounds great!

  305. Danielle says:

Seems like it would be convenient for certain busy times in ones life. Would love to give this a try.

  306. stasymipip says:

    Sounds like a great idea!!
but you can’t use coupons LOL

  307. Anna says:

This sounds like a great idea ! I remember what a pain it was (especially in winter !) to bundle up a newborn and head to the grocery store to pick up a few staples. I think a few of the grocery stores in our area deliver, but only if you drop off your order first/pay for it.

    Thanks again, fun giveaways !

  308. lighting Gal says:

Great Idea, but unfortuantly it is not availble im my area. Definently would use it if it was though

  309. carriekat says:

What a great idea! Unfortunately, they don’t have service here in Winnipeg.

  310. Danielle says:

Sounds like a great service, allowing coupons would be a great addition! thanks for the contest 🙂

  311. Dan says:

I would give this a shot for those days when i can’t get out to a store! or too lazy haha

  312. YT says:

Quick Delivery, food is always fresh, convenient and not all that expensive either. I’m surprised not more people are using this service.

  313. ARPL says:

Sometimes I wish there was a drive-through grocery store and this is the closest solution. It’s not because I don’t like shopping, it’s that sleepy baby in the backseat sometimes doesn’t like being carted around. I now also use drive-thru banks and don’t pump my own gas anymore.

  314. Tarawshopper says:

I have used the by email service a few times when we are getting ready for camp. We have them delivered to the cabin so that when we get there, the food is packed away and ready to go!

    LOVE IT!!!

  315. Sarah says:

I have not used the service but think it is a great option for people who cannot get to a store. If I was by myself when my baby was 1st born I would have used it. During sars my Mom and a few other people on our street used it – they all work in public health and had been exposed so they couldn’t shop!

  316. Weeeooojr says:

Great idea, but they don’t accept coupons, do they?

  317. precious says:

I dont know how often I would use something like this.. I have never heard of this before.. but it sure would come in handy on stormy days or days u really need things and just cant get out.

  318. Vince says:

I’ve always wanted to try a service like this, looks like it’s very convenient, especially if you’re not near a grocery store and don’t have a car. Too bad about not being able to use coupons though.

  319. stellar11 says:

I can’t imagine using something like this because i like going to the store and shopping for deals. But maybe in unsusal circumstances….

  320. Annie says:

I’ve done a lot of online shopping, but have never tried with groceries!

  321. laurac86 says:

Never bought groceries online. I think it’s a neat idea for larger places, however I don’t think it would do to well in NL with so many small communities so far away from everything. Delivery charges would probably be insane.

  322. gooniesguy says:

Thanks so much! Great information as usual.

  323. SweetDeals says:

I’ve had friends who have used this service and it can be a great help for people who are short on time or who don’t have their own transportation.

  324. amy says:

I think this is a great tidea.. it would be awsome for seniors!

  325. Carol says:

I have never had the opportunity to use a service like this but would welcome it. As someone who is disabled grocery shopping is difficult at best. What a great service for those who have limited mobility, transportation issues, and general time constraints. Too bad they don’t offer the use coupons…I’d bet their business would skyrocket! Since they don not offer this in my area I would love to know what the delivery charges are.

  326. Linda says:

I will have to try it one of these days, I hate grocery shopping! I always buy more than what’s on my list…sometimes that really adds up!

  327. Kelly says:

I have used a similar supplier when I travelled to Disney but never Gateway.com. It’s a little pricey so wouldn’t make a habit of using it (I could learn to love the service) but would consider it.

  328. Jennifer L. says:

I’ve never tried them before but looked into it after my son was born. I would definitely give them a try.

  329. Carol says:

What a great idea. What a time saver.

  330. Nethura says:

Wow this is fantastic! First time I hear of this! I’ve been home since a car accident (no broken bones thank GOD) and I can only do so much! This is so fabulous! Try pushing a cart loaded with grocery when your in tremendous pain! It’s a nightmare; this would make my life a lot easier! I surely would love to give this a try! From the picture, I can tell they are pretty good quality. Thanks for sharing this information and great contest:):)

  331. dina says:

if you’ve got a crazy busy life then this is a great service that makes your life a bit easier.

  332. SarahS says:

I would love to find out if they have this service in my area. I think that it would save a lot of time especially with a 4 year old running around.

  333. albertamommie says:

I think this is a great idea! I have never tried it personally, but when you have kids in tow this sure makes it sounds alot easier. Thanks for the contest.

  334. tjg says:

I used Grocery Gateway when I had a small baby at home in the winter. Highly convenient and even a sense of being pampered, in a way.

  335. stuffedpandapuppet says:

I’ve heard of Grocery Gateway for years, but never needed it before when I wasn’t in university as grocery stores are so abundant back home. Living on my own now, the grocery store is a bit farther and I can’t haul that much stuff without a car. I had no idea that they strive to be as sustainable as they can though, that’s great! Who knows, maybe when I’m writing my thesis, I’ll be needing their service!

  336. dearange says:

I used to have Organic Express deliver produce to my door, it was awesome!!! They have gone out of business now, but I really loved them dropping off a bin of yummy fruits an veg every other week 🙂

  337. VeeVee says:

We use Grocery Gateway at our office weekly and the one time I had a problem they handled it right away! I think this service is great if your busy and cant get to the grocers. It can be a tad expensive but for convenience sake its great!.

  338. sandray says:

I have never tried it but I’d love to give it a try. One of my neighbours have tried it and she loves it.

  339. Kim McIntyre says:

I wish I had this service in my area, especially with my newborn baby. I was not able to go out to get some grocery. With crying baby you always forget something. The only service I had in my area is Organic Baskets, but we have to pay for shipment or combine with other families to get free shipment.

But with recent move I think I can start using this service. It is convenient.

  340. Truffles says:

I used them a few times when tney first launched – they were offering coupons to try them out. Haven’t used them recently though…

  341. ISEY says:

This service is not available in my area but I would have loved for it to be when my kids were really little. I looked for one at that time but could not find one.

  342. freeshopper says:

    Sounds like a neat idea!

  343. srishayini says:

Great service if you are tied up with guests or commitments – disadvantage is you cannot use any coupons. But will come in handy in a rush.

  344. buttercup says:

Never tried it before but wanna try if I win this giveaway. Thnaks

  345. Nightgarden says:

Grocery Gateway has been around since the dot.com days and I’m glad they have survived. I have always thought about using their service but groceries stores are just 5 mins drive away from me. But I have always heard great service and products.

  346. AKE says:

Checked it out…delivery is not available in my area. Calgary CO-OP does grocery delivery here the only issue with it is the delivery charge and they don’t have the same sales or as good or as many sales)as their flyers…I’m about saving money and getting deals, that’s why I read the smart canucks blog…I’d rather go to the store myself to save an extra $50 or more on a regular grocery trip. Delivery is a good idea though, if you’re busy, or have lots of young children making shopping a nightmare!

  347. sueb26 says:

It’s a great service if you’re housebound or too busy to get to the grocery store.

  348. Koolaid says:

It would be wonderful to try them…my son is Autistic and shopping with him can either go great or involve fits to the floor or even stripping of clothes! If anything this is a friendly reminder to me that they do exist!

  349. amymichelle2 says:

I’ve never used this service before either, however it would be extremely convenient for a new mom or someone who works long hours and can’t make it to the store! Thrifty Foods delivers in our area, but it’s mostly for the elderly, and I believe it costs a bit more. I agree with others in that you wouldn’t be able to use coupons so it might not be worth it for those who can still make it to the store.

  350. Becky S says:

I’d love something like this, it’s difficult to get to the store sometimes. They don’t seem to be in my area yet, but I’ll keep an eye out. Thanks!

  351. Stephanie says:

With 2 kids, I would absolutley use a service like this – if the price was resonable of course!

  352. rld0724 says:

Great idea, too bad it’s not available in my area…

  353. sunshine7388 says:

I would love to trying something like this. Have never ordered grocery’s before. Thank you 🙂

  354. spoony says:

I think that Grocery Gateway is an amazing idea! Unfortunately, my little town offers no such service. I would totally try it if it was available though.

  355. Ian G says:

I have never tried anything like this before, but would be interested! Seems very convenient!

  356. Mike T says:

for a guy like me, i love this kind of service. hate crowds and line ups. will definitely try

  357. geminibaby says:

Wow, that’s awesome, i’ve never tried it before, but will try it one day.

  358. Sherry says:

I’ll be checking this out! I’m one of the few 30 year olds that don’t drive….this would make my life a lot easier during the winter months 🙂 Thanks Smartcanucks!

  359. nuwala says:

I haven’t heard of this service before but it sounds great, especially for our busy family.

  360. Irish_Girl says:

I’ve never used anything like this but it seems great. I love shopping online so this would totally be something I would do!

  361. lhs says:

I used it a long time ago and found it very convenient. Thanks for reminding me about their services – I might give it a try again soon!

  362. Katty says:

I haven’t used these services before but wouldn’t mind trying it.

  363. H123 says:

I would love to use a service like this in the summer – shopping when the kids are in school is fine, but I’d rather not take them all with me if I don’t have to!

  364. rudie75 says:

Sounds like a very useful service and would love to give it a try in the near future.

  365. sharon says:

    love to try

  366. Vexmie says:

I would definitely like to give it try, it would be so handy during those busy times!

  367. yippie! says:

Is it expensive? grocery shopping seems to take a lot of time out of my already very busy life. I’d almost die not using my coupons though.

  368. haunish says:

I would love this if it were available where I live. I dont drive and my hubby is always out of town. so would be great to be able to have groceries delivered.

  369. Gussy says:

    Thanks, SmartCanucks!

  370. luvlulu says:

I’ve never used them before because I’m always looking for sales and chances to use my coupons, but I’m preggo with my first, so I might end up using them in the first couple of months when the baby arrives. 🙂

  371. PINKROSE says:

WOW! this would make my busy life easier! NICE!

  372. erin007 says:

I will one day for sure use this service. It is a fantastic idea.

  373. kicklegs says:

When I’m not using coupons at bargain grocer’s, someday when financially more stable, this will be the only way I grocery shop.

  374. kate says:

I would have loved to have this when I was sick in bed! Never tried it tho!

  375. AJ says:

I used to use GroceryGateway back in the day (1999-2000), before Longos bought the company. I still remember how many boxes of theirs I had collected and used later for packing my own stuff when I moved. Very convenient service and good prices. Delivery was always on time (within the time frame selected) with courteous drivers. A big advantage was that you could pay by debit at the door when you received your groceries! And it was company policy that we absolutely NOT tip the driver. Wow. Even when I received wrong items, it was always corrected with a credit to my account… the only inconvenience being that many times I couldn’t reach them on the same day and I had to let them know later or by email by which time they couldn’t exchange/replace the item and I had to settle for a credit instead. But overall I was very satisfied with their service.

  376. FunkyMunku says:

I would love to try this on a busy week or during winter time 🙂

  377. qt says:

I would love to have this opportunity to try this service. Especially I am living with my mother and I need to take care of her. It would be a big convenience if we don’t have to drive our car to go grocery shop and fight crowds on the weekend in the parking lot and at the cashier.

Thank your for sharing this site and its service! The photos help as well to see how they have packages everything during delivery.

    Thanks again!

  378. Andrea says:

Would be a great service if it was available in my area 🙂

  379. Sally says:

Nice, I love how the bananans weren’t quite ripe yet, I hate ripe bananas.

  380. NovaBerry says:

I have never used this service but my cousin whom lives in Toronto says he has used it several times and that its awesome! He likes it becuase if he doesn’t have time to go to the store they do all the work for you and it’s quick and easy not to mention he says the fruits and meats that were chosen out were as if he had chosen them himself. He loves the service and continues to use it every so often.

  381. frankiew says:

I haven’t used it, but it is definitely a convenient service to have. A couple of things that concern me would be that I wouldn’t be able to eat my way through everything on in time before the next shipment (spoilage) and that I still like to pick and choose my own veggies and fruit by hand… but for the super busy, definitely a nice thing to have!

  382. good_for_sule says:

OMG! This is a great site for me because I hate going to the grocery store! Unfortunately they don’t deliver to my area. *Sad face.

  383. T.A. says:

    Would like to try it.

  384. Nadine says:

I think it’s a neat idea and very convenient for a lot of people. However they don’t delieve to my area so it couldn’t be a service I could use! 🙁

  385. minimusiclover says:

I have considered grocery delivery, but I’ve always been skeptical about others choosing fruits and veggies for me. I usually like to pick and choose. But I know that longos is always fresh when I look for stuff to buy, I suppose I would consider this.

  386. Dad says:

    A very good idea

  387. Megan says:

Haven’t tried it myself, but seems very quick and easy.

  388. Ivan says:

Tried GroceryGateway.com once. Good service, but I just don’t have a need for it right now. I have a car and still able to walk to my nearest grocery store when necessary. I imagine it would be convenient for people with disabilities and those with large families who may not have a car and don’t like carrying a large amount of grocery back home.

  389. Kit says:

I love online shopping so would like to give it a try. Just wondering what’s the return policy? If products that came is not fresh?

  390. Katia says:

    Hi!

I have never used this service before, but would really consider it in the future, since I just got a new job and moved into a new place so my life has been pretty busy lately. And we all know how long grocery shopping takes!

This would be really cool. I hope you pick me 🙂
    Katia

  391. wendigirl says:

i have never tried this type of service before
    sounds good!

  392. Hina says:

very relaxing and thoughtful idea especially for the old aged people or people with physical disabilities ..its hard to go grocery stores ,waiting in the queue to pay and then most importantly carrying those heavy grocery bags to your car and then your door (its a little too much work).. so i give this idea a 5 star 🙂 keeping the good deeds alive!

  393. Gracy says:

Sounds like a great idea. I don’t drive and can’t count the times I have had to lug groceries home.

  394. Chalene8 says:

Sounds like something I could use at the moment; being 7 months pregnant, alredy having a 5 year old, and a full time job,I would LOVE to have someone do things for me for a change! I am glad you had a positive experience…now you have me thinking of trying Grocery Gateway! Thanks!

  395. Marie Tsang says:

I haven’t used GroceryGateway.com before but I just finished my last pre-natal class on the weekend and the instructor highly recommended finding a service like this. It will be extremely helpful to help me adjust to life with baby. Due on July 22nd so any help I can get is very much appreciated.

  396. annie says:

I have never ordered groceries online. I think its a great idea.

  397. jen says:

I’ve always wanted to try this! It seems so convenient.

  398. karen says:

Wow, the services sound great! Sounds like something my aunt could use. Thanks.

  399. monkeyincowtown says:

I’ve never used GroceryGateway.com before, but I love the idea of it! I have 2 kids under age 2 so this would make shopping a heck of a lot easier for me!

  400. cheryl says:

I would love to have this available in my area! Grocery shopping can be VERY difficult from a wheelchair–from parking, to not being able to reach shelves, fruit and veggies are often high to keep small hands at bay–but don’t help! Delivery isn’t even an option in our area! (I will just keep on dreaming!)

  401. mike86 says:

Grocery delvery would be great, the only thing with me is that I shop at numerous stores every week depending on where the good deals are.

  402. Joyce says:

    Pick me! 🙂

  403. Jenny N says:

I’ve never used a service like this before but have heard about it. It seems very convient and a time saver.

  404. yingy_c says:

I have never used this service. I think it’d be wonderful at super busy/crazy times!!

  405. Christina says:

I have yet to use GroceryGateway.com, though I admit I looked into their services numerous times over the years when I haven’t lived anywhere near a grocery store and haven’t had a car. The first time I looked into them, I was living as a student in NDG in Montreal. I was on the third floor of a residence that had no elevators, and it was quite a hassle for me to cart my groceries (usually including a large jug of drinking water) from the convenience store about a 15 minute walk away, to my place. However, I found the prices to be much too high for me to be able to afford it at that time. It was the same when I checked them out later – I just didn’t have the budget to justify the convenience. Certainly, if I had a more hectic lifestyle and more of an income I’d use them. Or maybe if I had a physical limitation stopping me from getting stuff myself.

  406. Ricki911 says:

Ive never tried it but been meaning too. How do you know if the food will spoil?. Or do they drop it off in your hands?

  407. IRefuseToPayFullPrice says:

I’ve never used a service like this, but with having 3 kids under 5 soon, I might consider using it instead of hauling them all out and doing a big grocery shop, especially in the winter time. I found the prices on the high side though, and they don’t accept coupons.

  408. brie says:

I didnt even know a service like this existed! good to know…

  409. Nancy says:

I would love to use it – if they used coupons! My in-laws always have their groceries delivered and they love the convenience and are always telling me to try it (especially since I have 4 kids under 6). During the really crazy periods, like the holidays, I will probably give it a try.

  410. seniora says:

Never used such service before…but I would love to try it!

  411. charlie says:

    Great deal~!!! I want to win this~

  412. lazygal says:

Never tried it, but seems like a good idea!

  413. Andre says:

I’m very picky when it comes to my fruit and vegetables, so I prefer to do the shopping on my own. But this could be very convenient for others.

  414. Erum says:

it looks great but i have never tried it before

  415. Suzie-Q says:

I have never tried this but I think it is a wonderful ideal for seniors and anyone who is unable to get out to shop.

  416. Jerry Hung says:

I have used them before, but only when they offered steep coupons or discount, and then I only buy non-perishable stuff (i bought a Grill and cases of Nestea)

It’s hard to beat regular grocery stores, but for some (seniors) it may prove to be easier.

The concept would work in higher density areas (Toronto, or Asia cities)

  417. jam says:

Great idea.. I would love to try it out!

  418. nani says:

This is a perfect gift for a friend of mine who is blind.

  419. Marla.6 says:

I’ve never used this before but it sounds cool 🙂

  420. Khudsiya says:

Have yet to try Grocerygateway.com. Recently tried a IGA Online Grocery it was amazing experience got my airmiles reward. Only drawback cannot use my coupons. with the hectic work and school schedule this is the way to go.

  421. Carla says:

Never tried such a service before, I would like to though.

  422. Ashley01 says:

I would love something like this I dont like grocery shopping at all! But theres nohing around here like it

  423. Spidy says:

Wow..I never even knew this kind of service even existed. Sounds convenient. I would definitely give it a try.

  424. Kerri Rae says:

These service were SO SO great for when we had newborns and injuries.

  425. victoriastuff says:

It looks like a neat site I will need to give it a whirl

  426. mlongboat says:

I think Im way to cheap/broke to be able to afford this convienience:(

  427. Diandra says:

So here is my deal with grocery gateway. i have tried it oonce and loved the convenience of it.
although, i am a bargain-ista. and this did not help. i was unable to use all my coupons, or samples or follow good sales. i am clearly upchardged in order to make up for the delivery.
despite the ease of have groceries delivered to the house, i do not like to forfeit, for my weekly shop, the economic benefit about shopping in store.
when you are a great shopper like me it is fun
    xo\
    D

  428. JANICE says:

Great idea for busy lives. Would also help with meal planing as I think you would have to be organized for ordering. Now, if they would only cook the meal, serve the meal, and clean up after……

  429. Sabina says:

Sound great I have heard of it but never tried it out.

  430. rubani says:

would love to win this. wonderful idea.

  431. jenc says:

thanks so much for the contest! 🙂

  432. natasurf says:

not a $ saver, but could be convenient

  433. Lindsay says:

I’ve never used it before, but it sounds like a great idea!

  434. Courtney says:

This is an amazing idea. I hate grocery shopping (especially since I don’t have a car) so this would be awesome for me!

  435. Hailey S says:

I think that it is a great idea for large families, also for busy families with lots of sports to attend/ work, etc…

    Thanks for the contest!

  436. Jason Archibald says:

I did not know about this service, Now I am intrigued. I will try it out if I win or not.

  437. snow_yong says:

    Thanks for another great contest!

  438. ergo2 says:

Have not used this service , but i’d still love to win the gift card.

  439. sonia p says:

I use gateway for my office beverages ect and it is really good! delivery is always on time!

    thanks!

  440. michelleyyy says:

also have never used this service. but its something that sounds cool to use some time in the future. sounds like an extremely useful service especially for ppl who have trouble getting around.

  441. Dennis says:

    sounds like a tremendous idea!

  442. Christina says:

You can order groceries close to where I live and then pay delivery charges. It is for people who can’t get out or are seniors and don’t drive. Nice service to have

  443. jurassic98 says:

heard good news from friend about grocerygateway.
I might consider one day I get old or when I don’t have a car.
    thanks.

  444. Winyen says:

it would be so much more fun if they took coupons! hehe 🙂

  445. Angel says:

  446. Laviza says:

    Count me in!

  447. Rebecca says:

I have never used anything like this before but have always wanted to try it out. Not sure how I feel yet about relinquishing control over picking my own fruit and veggies!

  448. Phyllis says:

I think it’s great especially for older people or others whose mobility is limited. I have never tried this though.

  449. Amanda says:

I love the idea of something like this 🙂

  450. Lara says:

I have been using grocerygateway.com for the past 6 months to order weekly groceries for the office. I really enjoy that the order usually comes to us first thing in the morning the very next day after I’ve placed my order!

  451. Jen M says:

I have used a similar service back in Russia. I found it extremely useful, when I was sick and couldn’t get out of the house. The company charged extra for the grocery sold online, but sometimes it’s just worth it.

  452. Melissa13 says:

Sounds like a great service. I don’t know of one in my area though.

  453. Danielle says:

This is a great service!,it’s not only convenient and time saving, it also helps me cut down on impulse buying and thus saves me money!

  454. Yifan says:

I don’t think there are any services like that in my area, but my friend does use something like grocery gateway. it seems really convenient, but i’ve gotta say that it also doesn’t look too cheap either.

  455. sampler says:

    cool…

  456. Melinda says:

I would use this service, but I actually work in a grocery store lol. I really wish we offered a home delivery service. For some people it would be so convenient. There is one woman that comes in every week. She has 8 kids under the age of 10, and half the time she is corralling them and by time she is done shopping she is exhausted!

  457. NurseJenn says:

I have never used this service but I think it would be great to use. I could have used it twice when I had knee surgery because I was the one that did and always does the grocery shopping. So it would have been way easier to use this instead of trying to hobble around and get stuff. I feel that not being able to use coupons is a downer but hey it would work in a pinch.

  458. coley3 says:

This seems like a great idea. I didn’t even know you could order groceries and have them come right to your door. It sure would be convenient. Especially around Christmas when there are so many others things to fit in.

  459. Shery says:

Cool idea, great for winter when you don’t want to go outside. 😛 I also like that you can pay at the door too! Don’t know if there’s one around here but then again I live about 10 steps from a Metro so it doesn’t seem necessary. GREAT thing for people who live a bit farther from grocery stores though 🙂

  460. Jayne says:

This is a really cool idea. Would be interesting to try.

  461. anthony says:

    Sounds like a great idea!!

  462. matt says:

I haven’t tried it myself but it would be pretty convenient. But then again I’m in a big city, a quick walk to the store is easy for me.

  463. bb says:

Never used one as there’s not one anymore close. Additionally we eat ethnic foods which are not usually available at typical grocery stores. It sounds interesting tho and I wouldn’t mind trying to fruits and vegetables. Wonder about their freshness tho. I’d try to pick the best one if I buy it myself.

  464. rhiannon1891 says:

I’ve used them quite a few times. Delivery people are always on time and friendly. The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t choose your own produce (obviously), but that comes with the convenience.

  465. steckz18 says:

Great idea for those with time constraints!!!

  466. silverchick says:

On Vancouver Island we have a service called Spud.ca- Everything is completely organicly grown & from a very small radius to cut down on emissions transporting your food. I have not used them yet but from what i’ve heard their service is great.

  467. silverchick4 says:

On Vancouver Island we have a service called Spud.ca- Everything is completely organicly grown & from a very small radius to cut down on emissions transporting your food. I have not used them yet but from what i’ve heard their service is great. Would love to try them out

  468. Lorre_Adam says:

I think this is an absolutely brilliant idea! I really hope that they have something like this in Winnipeg or somewhere in Manitoba or at least some place that would deliver to us in Manitoba.

It would take all the stress of rushing around to do grocery shopping when…like every busy mother knows…you have at least another MILLION things to do. I’m so EXCITED!! I hope I win….

  469. silverchick4 says:

sorry about the double post- my computer screwed up & I wasn’t sure if it had been posted.. sorry it will screw up the random generator.. eeek

  470. OpreaI says:

Well…my daughter told me about this contest…so this is my first time as a “blogger”. How exciting that someone would come up with such a fabulous time saving idea. I’m so excited to see what happens…and of course really, really hope that I win, especially since I am a first time…lol

  471. Kerri says:

This is something that I have never tried, but it does interest me. Thanks for sharing the news!

  472. lastquarter says:

They don’t deliver in my area but it’s very handy service when you can’t go to the store yourself. If they start accepting coupon that be perfect.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  473. Christine says:

Yes, we do have grocery gateway in Burlington. I have not used them before, always worried if I will get the older produce, but if I win I will be sure to try them out and let you know about the service/products received.
Thanks again SmartCanucks and grcoery gateway for the giveaway opportunities..

  474. Sonja Jose says:

What a great way to avoid the grocery store during Christmas!

  475. Lindsay says:

I don’t use GroceryGateway.com but I do know someone who does as she finds it difficult to get to the grocery store and moreso with bringing the groceries home.

    What a fantastic service!

  476. Alyson says:

Great idea, bit I felt like I was snooping looking at the photos of what you bought! LOL

  477. joe says:

Wow this is such a convenient way of doing grocery shopping!!! I’d switch over to this service anyday…. keep up the good work!!

  478. carriesworld says:

I think it’s a great idea, but I’d like it more if I could use coupons

  479. Kat H says:

Very good business model for those who cannot get out to the store — but you cant redeem coupons?? Bummer!

  480. Bala Shark says:

    Sounds like a great idea!!!

  481. ammi1 says:

i would really like to try this as i have never used such service before!

  482. S-lin says:

Sounds like a great idea for someone who doesn’t live near a grocery store, but I prefer knowing that I am the one choosing the groceries so that I am able to pick the best quality.

  483. Lynn49 says:

We used a similar service for our son in Ottawa. Very convenient!

  484. Yetman says:

I have never used Grocery Gateway but think it’s an awesome idea. In fact I’m going to check out their site right now!

  485. Anita B says:

I think this would have been so useful when I had my baby because during the first few weeks after coming home from the hospital, I had no time to go grocery shopping and this service would have been amazing!

  486. Jay says:

Thanks SmartCanucks and grocery gateway for the giveaway opportunities.

  487. James says:

I use GG regularly. It takes a few tries to find the right time. My morning delivery person crushes stuff, but the evening person is excellent. Sometimes they forget stuff, but customer service always credits me for the error.

  488. Ashling says:

Pick me pick me! Please Mr. Boo Man 😀 LOL LOL

  489. Glogirl says:

I don’t believe this service is available in my area. However I think it is a great idea. Great for those with a busy lifestyle or those that are housebound and have difficulty grocery shopping.

  490. sujan says:

    Wish I am picked 🙂

  491. Cindy says:

would give it a try on a hectic day

  492. Meghan says:

I would use something like this if I did a large grocery trip, normally I do a lot of smaller ones to get the deals at various stores. Certainly handy, hope I win as it’s time to stock up on stuff again.

  493. yukito says:

it will be a good idea in the winter time, especially when it’s snowing outside!!

  494. Polina says:

It sounds great! I think it’s good for busy people or those who don’t drive.

  495. Al says:

I haven’t used anything like this before but with a little one and one on the way I see my life getting a lot busier in the near future. Sounds like a pretty good service that I wish we had closer to home!!

  496. daburusaru says:

There is a grocery store that does this in Vancouver but haven’t got around to trying it. Sounds like a great idea! Fingers crossed to win 🙂

  497. Jie says:

The convenience factor does sound appealing but I’m very picky when it comes to choosing produce/fruit and groceries in general (i.e. dents in cans, rips in boxes, etc.) so I prefer the in-store shopping instead.

  498. parapuu says:

I used this in school for my family studies class. It was great as we couldn’t go out as a class to get groceries every time we were cooking. We simply compiled a grocery list a class ahead of time and ordered everything we needed online, to be delivered the day we needed it. The groceries always arrived fresh and on time!

  499. Aarica says:

Very awesome for people who can’t get out…althoguh I love shopping my self

  500. Jenny says:

never used this kind of service before, but would be helpful if having a newborn.

  501. Christina C says:

This looks really good, with all the food packaged up and all. Im not sure if they have similar services in my area though. Must be really nice for people who are unable to go out or tight on time.

  502. poohbear2973 says:

great idea. The food looks delicious.

  503. Gismogirl says:

Too Bad! Sorry, we do not offer delivery in your area, but we probably will be soon!

  504. Sneha2008 says:

Great idea. Never tried this kind of service before.

  505. cdnchk says:

We had something similar in Saskatoon called Pic n’ Del. I never used them, and am curious about grocery delivery. I wonder if they have anything similar now in the west/prairies.

  506. DINA ISABEL says:

This would be so awesome!!! I would love to give them a try. Going to check their website right now.

  507. Soozle says:

Amazing idea. I work with clients who have undergone orthopaedic surgeries and have trouble getting around while they heal/recouperate. I wouldn’t hestitate to mention a service like this to them to help alleviate some stress during the recovery time!

  508. Terri says:

I would love to give them a try! It sounds very decadent!

  509. Donna says:

would love to win I think this website is awsome I would love to try it

  510. Bridges_48 says:

Web site looks good, and the produce looks fresh, i would love to give it a go..

  511. Kristie B says:

Unfortunately the service is not available in my area 🙁 bummer

  512. Victoria says:

    This looks great…
I’ve never heard of this kind of grocery sopping until now… I registered and found that they have a lot of products to choose from too… This is great especially for those who don’t have the time to go to a supermarket…

  513. Michelle says:

I have never used before, but sounds great for people who can’t get out or just don’t have the time! Wonder if they take coupons!

  514. Riesen says:

can’t deliver to my place but sounds like a good idea

  515. Orv says:

This would be SOOO convenient for me!.. i dont have a vehicle and i have a two year old.. grocery shopping is a nightmare. Cant carry anything home.

  516. Luci says:

I’ve never tried such services, but it’s nice to know that they do exist! Will be handy for hectic weeks

  517. Carol says:

This would be so amazing for me, since I don’t have a car and usually have to lug my groceries home with me!! my poor shoulders 🙁

  518. Brenda says:

Not in my town yet, but I would love it if there was something like this here, no kids but a sick hubby so shopping is hard sometimes. hope it comes here soon!

  519. Jonathan Mulock says:

There is nothing like this in my area that I know of….Halifax/Dartmouth NS. Seems like a good idea, but I like roaming around the store looking for unadvertised deals and mark downs. This would be good for people who are too busy or seniors who are unable to shop instore.

  520. bookworm_gal:) says:

I have never even heard of this service before now, but think that it is an awesome idea, and would be super useful in those crazy-busy times in life, e.g., when moving or around the holidays, etc. Probsby not something I would use on a weekly basis, but I definitely see the potential for those busy days!

  521. Anja says:

I probably wouldn’t use this service, as I would be expect their prices to be fairly higher than in grocery stores.

  522. Kim's mom says:

I would love to have such a service.

  523. L. Wilson says:

Shopping with two kids under two… super fun…

  524. Ditto says:

I’ve never used anything like this before, but I know my mom would definitely like having this.

  525. Lucy says:

I’ve never heard of such thing before! I’m not sure if i’ll use this because I like going into a store and selecting my grocery’s. I think I would only use it if I was really busy but if not, I wouldn’t use it to much but it does seem like a good idea !

  526. bubbascuda says:

OMG How Dreamy!!!! With two little ones in car seats, what a joy it would be to not have to buckle them in, run through the store in a timely manner before one has a melt down (me included LOL), load up the van, buckle the kiddies back in, get home, unload the kids and the groceries all to realize I forgot the one thing I set out for…milk…and so the cycle continues!!! LOL Great Idea!!!!!! 🙂

  527. FreebieChick says:

I’ve used Grocery Gateway about 3-4 times before. When we moved Canada Post gave us a Grocery Gateway flyer with a $20 GC inside so we decided to give it a try. The GC covered the Delivery and then $10 extra for groceries. We found that prices were a lil steep but the conenience was great! It was also fun searching on their site for everything we needed!

  528. Leff says:

It’s a great idea for busy families and old people. I’d probably only use it in an emergency, 1-2 per year maybe

  529. CL Chin says:

i would use the service if I didn’t have time to go grocery shopping or didn’t have access to a supermarket. I would also use their services if I had a family and had to buy larger quantities of food too. I don’t use the service now because I don’t want to pay delivery fees and I think their prices are a bit higher than my local supermarket.

  530. Ehmay says:

MAN! I wish grocerygateway.com would deliver to my area. I tried to register and it told me that it the service isn’t provided in my area. 🙁

I don’t usually use delivery services but it would be nice for those times I’m tired (or lazy hehe)

  531. Kristin says:

I used GroceryGateway a few times while I was in undergrad and didn’t have a car – the website worked well, and it was very convenient, but I found that certain things weren’t given as much attention as I would have given them if I’d shopped myself. For example, I once got avocados and they were the smallest, hardest ones I’d ever seen…. not great for guacamole! I ended up spending the delivery fee on a taxi and was happier overall. I guess my opinion is that picky shoppers won’t like it, but those who are more relaxed may find it very convenient!

  532. Sheri says:

It sound great but I’m concerned about paying too much. We do get it where I live now and would love to try it out!

  533. Samantha says:

Totally works for me. I work during the week and hubby works the weekends so we rarely cross paths to grocery shop together. This would take the headache out of having to find time to do it 🙂

  534. Suzanne says:

I would love to try the service! Heard so much about it!

  535. army_girl29 says:

I think the service is great for those far away from stores, or those without a car or those with kids. What a great service!

  536. elaine Cheung says:

haven’t used anything like this before but I forsee my life getting a lot busier in the near future. Sounds like a pretty good service.

  537. Tanner7 says:

Sounds like a great service….convience…..we don’t have anything like this in the city where I live. I would definately use it!

  538. anna warren says:

This looks like such a good way to save time. I’d be into that.

  539. Caitfoster says:

Would for sure do it. We can never borrow a car to get all our groceries home, so we have to shop at the expensive local shop down the street.

  540. John R says:

I have never used a service like this, but I certainly would give it a try for grocery items I know I like. I’d even set up a recurring schedule to send me certain items every week of two.

  541. Jody says:

I’ve never heard of anything like this. It sounds awesome. We don’t have a car and I am usualy working until 10:30 at night so by the time you catch a bus the stores are all closed. This sort of service would be awesome for us since my wife is at home most of the time she could be there to accept the order without us having to try to get to the stores. I’m going to go reasearch and see if we have something like this localy 🙂

  542. eriluo says:

I used this when I lived in the GTA over ten years ago when it first started out and it was really convenient if you kept later than usual hours at work and were too tired to head to the grocery store to pick up stuff. It is well worth it if you have your staples on hand and just need the fresh stuff to compliment your menu 🙂

  543. Nikki says:

sounds like a very convenient way to shop for groceries!
its nice that they use environmentally friendly packaging

  544. BeckyM says:

I used GG a few years back when I lived in Ontario and the service and overall experience was great. They sell numerous items I could not find at my local store, which was a real bonus too! Im going to look them up here in Alberta and give it another try.

  545. BeckyM says:

Alas – I just found out its only in the GTA so I will have to wait until I finish my PhD and move home to try again :/

  546. lalita1985 says:

I used grocery gateway when I was going to UTM in mississauga and it was a life saver!! I didn’t have a car so to take the bus and lug home groceries was super inconvenient and it cost the same amount to take the bus as it did to pay for delivery.

I only ordered what was on sale when I picked out my groceries and they ALWAYS sent me coupon codes for free deliver or $10 off your order of $50 and once I even got a coupon code for $20 off!!

Several times they gave me extra stuff with out charging me for it and the only issue I had was with fruit being super ripe and I had to eat it all in a short time period. I called them to let them know and they gave me a credit on my account even though I had already devoured it so I wouldn’t have to throw it out.

  547. Jessie says:

I used GC two years ago when I lived in oakville and didn’t have a car…. super convenient! Its price is unexpectedly pretty reasonable, too

  548. Christine says:

    Wow, sounds pretty cool!

  549. Chris E. says:

Never thought about shopping for groceries online but this ad made me think given delivery is made in a 2 hour timeframe.

  550. janet says:

might think about that when i am too old do do my own shopping i enjoy shopping.

  551. michelle says:

I used their services before because I had a coupon and found them pricey. Now I wonder if they’re comparable and can you use coupons?

  552. Sexy Bear says:

Neat service, I’ve never used such a thing. Wouldn’t mind giving it a Try! Unfortunately they do not offer in my area, but If there is one i’d be willing to try them out 😀

  553. randomwords says:

    Sounds interesting!

  554. Zhana says:

I shopped with them when I was still leaving at my previous home. However, when I moved and tried to re-register, the website says an account has already been created for that address. Ooops! I guess I will have to call them and ask for support, since I almost forgot how convenient their services are.

  555. Veronica says:

This is great, certainly after having had a car accident one can see the bonus of not having to go out and get groceries on the days where you can’t lift a thing!

  556. cw says:

great. It’s very good for winter when weather is wicked for going out.

  557. Karinny Cezar says:

I wish I knew about them at the time or the bus strike in Ottawa. It seems really practical. Is there an extra cost for delivery? Did you find the prices to be the same in the grocery store?

  558. Debbie Herfkens says:

Very cool! I would use, but will never get anything like this in the rural areas for sure.
Groceries are my least favorite chore, so anything to make that easier would be a bonus!
thanks for the chance to win!

  559. BM says:

I COULD SURE USE THE HELP WITH grocery’s
    Thank You

  560. KH says:

I think this is an awesome idea. Everyone is busy and I know I wish I had 48 hours in a day! This saves time and makes me happy!

  561. Lili says:

That’s interesting! I’ve never felt I would give it a try, but let’s see I might enjoy the convenience!

  562. Charoo says:

So they don’t service my neck of the woods but they are in my in-laws neighbourhood. They are quite elderly and would likely benefit from a service like this if it was reasonably priced. This gift card would be a great way for them to give it a try.

    Thanks for shopping!

  563. a says:

I think this would be amazing! I would especially stock up on heavier things that are harder to get home with public transit.

  564. jollygrub says:

As a similar service, I used IGA Online, where you can select what you want and get it delivered to your door. It’s nice when you buy your groceries, but not that good for vegetables, fruits and other perishables of the same thing, they never give you something fresh.

  565. cuteheart says:

Wow…this would be sooo amazing! With a 2 year old and a newborn, I find it hard to find time to go grocery shopping. Fresh groceries at my door? Can’t wait to try it! =) Thanks!

  566. julesn2boys says:

haven’t tried it but would be great after a long 12 hour shift last thing i wanna do is go shop

  567. readit says:

I’ve never tried this type of service, but keen on anything that will save me time.

  568. Jocelyn says:

i’m so glad you shared this service! i will definitely be using it in a couple of weeks, ill be having surgery soon so this would be soo ideal! i love that the company uses reusable boxes as well! thank you!

  569. Calamy says:

Love the idea. Less hassle and definitely handy in the winter time!

  570. Amy says:

    excellent service.
I have used before, due to living outside the city in the country and not driving groceries also are an issue when the hubby is not around to do it with me.

I use the service a couple times a year, the people are always curtious, put the packages right where I want them, and one time I had a broken ankle, and the lady even placed away my grocies in cupboards, fridge, freezer, etc…

They also use re-usable boxes, and bags now. 🙂 Definately a plus in my books.

  571. ladiydye says:

i just tried them for the first time last week. using the site was easy, no complaints about the food, however they were one hour late.

  572. kristen says:

when my mom and i first moved out when i was 12 we used gg as we had no vehicle toi get around it was super easy we loved it!now as a single mom who doesnt drive either living on my own i would totally consider usingit myself!!

  573. Chelsea says:

I have not used this service but with having young children I think it would be a great idea!

  574. dklcorrigan says:

i had never heard of anything thought maybe try it but then it isn’t offered in London … bummer

  575. addismom says:

I havent tried this service before but would love to try them out.

  576. Dom says:

Would give it a try as long as I don’t have to order anything. (leave that to my wify. LOL)

  577. Kylie says:

I have 2 young kids and it’s getting harder and harder for me to go grocery. So I would definitely like to try it.

  578. Adnav says:

We do not have a car, so this would be very good opportunity to get a little rest and not walk half an hour to the store and walk back half an hour with the groceries.

  579. Darci says:

This would be great to send as a gift to an elderly family member who has a hard time getting around and doesn’t live near me. What a nice idea and gives back some independence!

  580. Tay says:

Sounds like a great idea. As a busy mom I am always looking for ways to balance kids, work and house.

  581. christine says:

I’ve never used anything like that, but when i saw your review i thought to myself “wow thats awesome”
That looks so convenient, i would use that in a heartbeat if there is something like that near me, I guess i should start looking around

  582. Nucleii says:

i have plenty grocery stores around my area to not need it, but i would be interested to try it out

  583. freeplease says:

My Mom used a service like this about 20 yrs ago. We didn’t stick with it to long… I think we are to picky with our produce!

  584. hello says:

I don’t have this service in my area, but would definitely try it. Sounds great when unable to get it done myself & sounds like you had a really good experience. Food looks fresh!! 🙂

  585. Dana says:

I have not used them but I have looked into their website. Most things seem more expensive to me. I guess if you are a busy family it would be a good way to get groceries.

  586. Cheryl says:

We do not have this service offered in our rural area. Too bad, I’d use it!!!

  587. aimee says:

I’ve never used any service like this for groceries. Only used the power of my own legs, arms & back. But this sounds like a great alternate option. I LOVE how they pack nicely and encourage recycling!

  588. Mary says:

We don’t have something similar in my area but if we did I think I would use it sometimes. I like the idea but the prices are a bit higher than norm. For someone who is busy it seems like a good idea

  589. cmoody8107 says:

We have a similiar idea here. A small scale grocery store downtown offers online ordering & local delivery. Great concept, especially as a gift for new moms or someone sick or elderly!!

  590. "thrift-tee" says:

I would love to give this a try…the truck is always making a stop at my nieghbours house!

  591. Svetlana says:

    Would love to win!!!

  592. Chrispy says:

Such a nice convenient way to shop for groceries!

  593. boat says:

woooops sorry about that… wrong post!

I love grocery gateway! great for when I’m studying and can’t make it out of the house

  594. shiloh says:

i know a lot of people depend on this service.. people who cant get out due to disabilities. wonderful service !

  595. Wei says:

Wow, this seems like a very useful service for families who are too busy or find it difficult to get to the store. For me personally, I live close enough to a variety of stores that it’s easy enough to get the groceries myself =)

  596. Renee says:

I wish that they had this service near me! It definitely sounds like a good idea though! 🙂

  597. Loveshack says:

Unfortunately they don’t offer delivery in my area; if they did, I would be tempted to try it out. Right now my family and I are staying at my in-laws way out in the country and I do not drive right now, so I don’t get out to the stores very often. It would be really neat to be able to shop on-line for groceries and things.

  598. maybe says:

IF they had service in my area I would give them a try for sure. It’s looks really cool and you can’t be the ease of it.

  599. Nancy says:

That’s a perfect way to shop, in my opinion. Especially if you have elderly parents, or even a single parent who cannot leave the house for some reason.

    Awesome.

  600. Amanda says:

I have used Grocery Gateway before and they were awesome! I love ordering groceries online.

  601. Smile86 says:

I work shifts so shopping like this would be so awesome!

  602. MoneyIsForSquares says:

I have never used this service, and honestly I don’t think I would. But I understand how it could be useful to shutins.

  603. Andy says:

Sounds like a good idea for someone who has to take public transit. It’s really hard to buy a decent amount of groceries when you know you have to lug them around for 30 minutes to get home.

  604. mush2010 says:

I have never used their service but would like to try …

  605. bonbon says:

I have used Grocery Gateway in the past, always had a great experience!

  606. Bonnie says:

I have never heard of a service like this but it seems interesting. I guess I’m odd in the sense that I actually like going grocery shopping… 🙂 I’d rather pick my own food than have it delivered, this way I can pick the best quality of meat, produce, etc… also, doesn’t really say whether or not you can use coupons! lol

  607. Shelley says:

With 4 kids I would love it if this was available in my area! Expand to London PLEASE!

  608. i.am.a.cliche says:

Looks like a good service for busy people or people without a car. But I like physically going into a grocery store. How else would I get more coupons?

  609. Riggsley says:

This is not available in my area, but it would probably good for people who don’t have transportation. I kind of like going to the grocery store to check out the specials.

  610. tara says:

I use Grocery Gateway about once a month. It is great when you need a lot of groceries as everything just arrives at your door! I’ve never had any problems with delivery or with my order. It is also great if you don’t have a car and usually end up carrying all your groceries! Their produce and meats are of excellent quality and their delivery fee is extremely reasonable – a rate that everyone can afford! I highly recommend them!

  611. CheapSkatz says:

I have not yet used this grocery service, but I can imagine that now that I have a baby and am going back to work–it may be a very useful service to take advantage of! Looks like your items came well packaged, quickly and conveniently 🙂

  612. bargain kitty says:

I have never used such a service but it looks so convenient and easy. Grocery shopping has become a chore – this is a time saver and I’d love to give it a try.

  613. Christine P says:

I have never tried it before but am busy enough to try..
I guess my opinion would be based on the cost of the service.

  614. kal says:

igned up wtih them but i never used it,honestly i still love the traditional way,and i love to shop my own groceries and stuff.

  615. agatha says:

    Me please. Love to cook!

  616. HaydensMom says:

    Sounds very convenient.

  617. Kajay says:

Ever been stuck in your own driveway in January? How about having soda freeze dangerously in cans (only to burst once brought in the house) while you ran to the second store on your list?

True situations for this Canuck, and I’m able-bodied! Days like that are when I’ve used a local grocery delivery service. Unfortunately, they’re no longer in service in my area, and I miss the absolute convenience of it.

  618. Nushin says:

I’ve never used it, but I think it would be great for me since I’m a student and barely have time to go grocery shopping!

  619. Habiba says:

Being a mother, I’m going to check if I can order from them. Could come in handy some time!

  620. Fleetingleaf says:

Heard of this before, never tried, definitely very handy for those crazy weeks. They are pretty expensive, but one can’t have everything 🙂

  621. M2G2 says:

I’d never used this kind of service before. Life is getting busy after having 2 kids, it is definitely something worth to try….

  622. Simon says:

Neat idea! Not something I need at the moment, but it definitely seems useful.

  623. Shannon says:

I don’t think this type of service is available in my area but I would probably use it occasionally if it was. I work full time with three very young kids and there are some weeks where it can be really hard to make it to the grocery store!

  624. CRAZYCOUPONGIRL says:

I think this service would be great for elderly people, people with mobility issues, or busier mothers, and fathers who just don’t have the time to shop.. even rich people… but for people who live on a strict budget and use 100’s of coupons a week! ( like me ) i don’t know if it would work, unless ofcourse they started to except coupons, then!! i would so use this service maybe something they could consider!?

  625. Sharon Jones says:

Never tried this service before but would LOVE to! Wish they would take coupons too.

  626. ann marie says:

never tried anything like this before, live closeby to several grocery stores. looks like a great service except the delivery charges.

  627. Margaret says:

I haven’t used services like this before but I can see myself utilizing it. I think this is a great service to have available especially for my parents.

  628. smartnewbie says:

Never bought groceries and have them deliver before but have heard of good things about them.

  629. Miss_April says:

Sounds like a great idea for those who can’t leave the house or don’t have the time.

  630. Martha says:

I have never used it before but it sounds like it could be very useful, especially with a new baby to look after!

  631. CJ says:

This is such a great service and I can think of many times when I would find it to be very handy. I’ll also be encouraging my elderly relatives to look into it!

  632. amandamck says:

I’ve never tried this, always thought it might be too expensive, love to give it a try!

  633. Talimomali says:

I’ve always been tempted, but with a hectic grad student schedule I don’t even know if I could pin myself down to my apartment for a 2 hour window on any given day… doing groceries during a lull in the office would be magical though, and have them delivered to my door as soon as I get home… if I could ever predict when I would get home on any given day! Hahhaha I wish they could walk themselves into my house and unpack them for me too!
In all seriousness though, I’ve completely forgotten that services like this exist… I’d definitely consider using one, especially if I could ask for delivery for a future day, not the same day as ordering. Then I could do groceries while out of town on research trips and then just come back and have them delivered!

  634. Agent 99 says:

I’ve never used such a service, but I’ve just moved to an area that has it. I can’t say I would use it in the near future, although it would probably save me money and impulse purchases!

  635. Karen says:

I would use it but not regularly, so hope they won’t lock you in for a weekly delivery or something like that.

  636. Claudia says:

I have never used this kind of service, but I am sure that there are circumstances that one would be grateful for something like this, especially if you can get fresh groceries to your door!!

  637. Shel says:

I haven’t used this type of service before. It does sound convenient, especially for those who are not so mobile or don’t have a lot of time.

  638. colleen says:

I used them a few years ago and it was great – we had one car at the time. With two young kids I could just plan what I needed and not need to arrange the car. The quality was good and I had one problem once that was resolved promptly and fairly. I like the coupon idea for them..hopefully they will figure that out!

  639. suroor says:

i have used thier service before and its really good because u can search for the items on the online data base rather than walking around the whole grocery store looking for a certain type of sauce etc

  640. Linda says:

I have never tried this type of service before but it certainly looks like an interesting concept and would be great for seniors and very busy folks who can’t find the time to fit in stheir shopping!

  641. Susan says:

I’ve never used this type of service but would like to try it. The photos look good and I know someone that uses it frequently and is happy.

  642. Carmen says:

I haven’t tried them but I would love to!

  643. jess says:

Interesting.. Be perfect for new parents!

  644. Veronica says:

I didn’t even think about using this service when I had my newborn. Would have really come in handy.

  645. Draven79 says:

I don’t drive so I have to rely on my aunt to take me shopping most of the time. I think the concept is great bit I just can’t see paying the prices I’m sure they must charge. I buy on sale and with coupons so much that even while I’m sick I just don’t think I could do it.

  646. julie says:

Definitely want to try it out.. so convenient 🙂

  647. Marlene says:

This sounds real good but they do not deliver in my area.

  648. Shirley says:

I used them a couple of times when I used to live on my own and I was recovering from a back injury. All groceries arrived pretty quick, fresh fruits, vegetables etc. It was a great and handy to service to use and I didn’t have to worry about carrying “Heavy” items!

  649. Yummy says:

I’ve never actually ordered from Grocery Gateway, but I use their website all the time to check out what certain products average prices are.

I see their trucks all the time around where I live. I’m pretty sure they ship out of Longo’s.

  650. ahazaras says:

Something to look into. Thanks for the info.

  651. Jaclyn says:

Never used them as they aren’t in my area, but I love the idea for those who have difficulty getting out!

  652. JAMs Wife says:

I LOVED this type of service when I was in university on a Co-op term – Living in Quebec with no car and not close to a Grocery store was not very fun. I was not sure how much I would like this type of service, but after 1 order I was SOLD!!! The delivery charge was less then it would cost me to take the bus to the store and everything was neatly packed and super fresh.

  653. Happy Munchkin says:

Never used them, always wonder how the food would be delivered. Thanks for the pictures. I prefer to shop at the local grocery stores with coupons.

  654. VEER INDER says:

    This sounds great!

  655. madryn_m says:

I’ve never used a service like this because I’m concerned that I will have to order too many groceries for just my husband and me and they’ll spoil before I use them all, but I’d like to give it a try.

  656. Grace says:

Never tried it but could be handy for busy people or those who cannot get out easily!

  657. kittyc says:

I would love to try it! It will save so much time! and Gas!

  658. islandlakes says:

Sounds like a great service when you are sick and stranded!

  659. Anu says:

This sounds like a wonderful service and I would consider using it in case of emergency (sickness etc.).

  660. Aprile says:

It would be very conveniant to have a service like this if I was unable to pick up groceries one week.

  661. luv2shop says:

    very convenient
    great deals
    super fresh produce

  662. Cherry says:

This sounds awesome! I’ve never used anything like this because I’m not the one who buys groceries and cooks in the house but I can see myself possibly using this service when I’m older. And your pictures look great =)

  663. Eric says:

They don’t offer delivery in my area, but that is a pretty cool service.

  664. Lesli says:

I would definitely use this service if it wasn’t too expensive, so that I can spend more time with my family and less time shopping.

  665. Rossel says:

Free delivery from a grocery chain is very convenient. Mom like me can do the household chores while doing the grocery. How I wish we have that free delivery here too.

I love stores and other establishments that are recycling and encouraging the use of boxes, paper bags and eco bags. They help a lot in fighting the global warming.

  666. Robibaby says:

I used Grocery Gateway for years. It’s an excellent service for moms, the infirm, the elderly.. or the ‘just plain lazy’ :). I never had any problems with them and the fact that Longo’s is involved makes me quite happy.

  667. Candice says:

    Never used, but sounds awesome!

  668. Lisa Hallman says:

My concerns over using a service like this is that I cannot use coupons. THe other concern I have is that I’m picky about the produce. I choose by smell and not by look. But would be good for meats etc, and packaged goods, but i don’t buy those much.

  669. Lily says:

I would like to have this service in my city!

  670. JoAnne says:

We don’t have one in our city, but it sounds like a FANTASTIC idea! And, it looks like the company put alot of thought in the proper way to run the business.

  671. Tammy says:

I think this type of service is great for those who have a difficult time getting out. For me, it would be ideal to use now an again when I am simply to busy to get my shopping done.

Thanks for running a great contest.

  672. Huguette English says:

I’ve never used anything like this before, nor do we have any available, but I do think it would be awesome if it didn’t make too much more expensive.

  673. Alia says:

I haven’t used this service either, but I can see the convenience in it. good idea.

  674. Anna Z says:

Looks like a neat concept, but unfortunately not available in my area 🙁 Hopefully they’ll expand soon!

  675. Joanie says:

I used this service a couple of times a few years ago. The experience was fine if you don’t have the time to shop but I like to walk the aisles for inspiration some times. I am no really sure about someone else picking out my meat either.

  676. T_DeLight says:

this would be great and since we dont have a car even better 🙂

  677. Krista says:

I do like doing my own shopping. Picking my own vegetables and meat. Although I think I would consider using the company if I was ever unable to get to the grocery… or refer new mothers who can’t get out.

  678. Lynn says:

I love the convenience of this sort of service. I have been pleased with my past orders, but would recommend caution with regards to items that may be switched if not available. If you’re planning a dinner party, order early to allow time if you need to run out and get something!

  679. jean says:

This sevice would be wonderful ! Even more so when one is recovering from childbirth, any other hospitalization, a fracture etc.

  680. ariescres says:

    fast delivery and great service!

  681. Ruth says:

Would enjoy trying this grocery service!

  682. wajiha says:

I’ve never tried this service, but I will now. I really need a service to deliver my groceries sometimes. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  683. rachel crisman says:

It looks great but I live in a tiny town where nothing like this could ever work.

  684. zivkoi says:

I’ve use GroceryGateway before and for the most part they were very good. There were a few problems with orders but they always offered to refund my money for the item or bring me a replacement.

  685. Muckymoo says:

These services are great for the elderly and disabled. I can also see this as handy for a family where they don’t have a car and need large amounts of groceries. I have never tried them but probably would in future.

  686. Star says:

I’ve never used a service like GroceryGateway before, and I don’t know of any like it in my area. That said, I think it’s a great idea and i’m sure a huge help for many people. It’s definitely something I would look into in the future if I were ever in need of the help.

  687. Melanie says:

We have not a service like that in our area, but I would love it!

  688. Andrea says:

I don’t think the service is available in MTl, but I would use it!

  689. Jes says:

With a newborn baby I can see myself using this kind of service…not available in my area. Would love it!

  690. Jz says:

Sounds great! I would love to try it!

  691. Mevish says:

being a new mom, i would love to use this service since i dunt get much time to go out and do groceries! a good idea!

  692. Abby says:

Haven’t tried a service like this before, but my neighbours used to use GroceryGateway.com. My only concern would be not being able to choose my fruits and veggies, but it looks like they did a great job! Thumbs up 🙂

  693. Ashley says:

I used this service years ago and I will probably use it agin soon as inamma new mom and I don’t always find it convient to bring my little one to the grocery store with me.
    Thanks for the reminder

  694. jmod says:

    Looks like an interesting site!

  695. Zahra says:

Very interesting..Will try out when I win 😛

  696. Kathy says:

I used to use Grocery Gateway frequently, but the quality took a nose dive the last few times I used them, so I stopped. That was in 2008, maybe they are better now?

I used to get bread that was going to expire in 2 days, fruits and veggies that I could only use for that day because they would go bad the next day. When I made a complaint, they didn’t do anything about it. I reminded them that they told me their policy was to get the freshest items for the grocery gateway customers and the rep told me bread that wasn’t past the due date was fresh. LOL. Whatever.

Another big problem was their prices were mostly misquoted when it came to meat like cold cuts. For example if a certain cold cut was $3.99/lb, I’d end up getting charged $4.49/lb and when I complained, they would tell me they would credit the amount on my next bill. They had no excuse for ripping me off.

Many many many times they didn’t have items I had already ordered and paid for online. Their site said those items were in stock, and yet at my door they weren’t. Also, they claim they will substitute an item, many times they didn’t. They just didn’t deliver the item. How does anyone complete shopping like that? At least in the store when it’s in stock, it’s really in stock… not so online.

All those things turned me off Grocery Gateway. I thought it was such a good idea when it first came to Toronto. I was one of their very first customers. I even got a gift box from them with some free stuff. Their customer service was gold back then. In 2008 it was less than bronze. Hope they’ve changed by now… but I don’t want to risk the delivery charge to see if they’ve changed or not.

  697. Erin says:

My daycare provider swears by these guys. I was so tired and had to go to the store to do my groceries and she suggested I try them out. I went on line and registered and will be placing an order tonight!!!
