I was just checking out the freebies section here on Smart Canucks and came across a great thread by Freebiechick.  She has compiled a list of 19 Canadian restaurants where your kids can eat for free!  She has even included the days of the week that the free kids meals are offered and the restrictions, if there are any.

This is an amazing post that I’m sure every parent out there will really appreciate.  Eating out is great and it’s even better when it doesn’t have to cost you a small fortune.

So without further ado, here is the list that Freebiechick has compiled for us:

Applebee’s
Kids eat free on Wednesdays at participating restaurants.

The Poor House
Children eat free on Mondays at participating restaurants

My personal favorite is Hooters having free kids meals on weekends, so funny.  Not really where I would take my son for dinner, but hey, too each their own.  If you know of any other places that offer free kids meals, please feel free to add them into the comments section.

Thanks again to Freebiechick for the heads up on all the free kids meals!

  1. maybe

You would have to call your local restaurants to see what they consider a “kid” I guess. I would assume it’s under the age of 12 at the oldest and maybe under 10 at some.

  2. RobynCD

Who would take their children to Hooters, or some place called Philthy McNasty’s? Sounds like great family dining! Why not take the Grandparents too?

  3. Cheripou

For the Buffet des continents, it’s usualy 12 years and younger…

  4. Cheripou

Sorry forgot to add, kids eat free when accompanied by an adult… If you are 1 adult and 2 kids — you will have to pay for a kids meal…

  5. Lindemann

What’s wrong with taking a boy to Hooters? Heaven forbid he sees good looking women. I wish my parents weren’t all uptight about stuff like that. I might have become a guy who can actually talk to women instead of a coward that can’t even approach them.

  6. jaggy

@Lindemann : Seeing women in an arguably exploitative situation isn’t the best way to develop self-confidence. Pornography isn’t either, by the way.

  7. Lindemann

^ True it won’t do anything for self-confidence but my point was that sheltering kids from even the slightest displays of sexuality (Hooters is pretty tame) is unnatural and harmful.

  8. tnp

Thats ridiculous, why would you even say that?? hooters?? fav place to take the kids too? your lame, this blog specifically should be aired on the news… don’t give bad rep to smart canucks.

  9. tnp

im taking this to the ottawa sun media, about your poor judgement. Their children! not adults!

  10. wow

tnp, your grammar is giving a “bad rep” to smart canucks. Please learn the difference between the correct usage of ‘your’ and ‘you’re’, and ‘their’, ‘they’re’ and ‘there’. As well, learn when to use a period instead of a comma. And lastly, there’s something called an apostrophe!

  11. elizabeth

ive taken my daughter to hooters with my bf … she sees worst things on commericals or on the beach people are to uptight now a days she loved the deep fried pickles

  12. James Bonney

Boston Pizza kids eat free is no more.
They are starting a new promotion where you donate $5 to BP charity and they give you 5 free kids meals…starts soon I believe.

  13. OldHootersGirl

Hooter’s is actually considered a “family” restaurant by many, including the corporation itself. I had many families visit me while working at Hooters, including quite a few kids birthday parties! The kids love taking pictures with all the girls. The uniform really isn’t that inappropriate — suggestive, yes, however children see that on tv, walking down the street or even in school! Moxie’s also has suggestive uniforms, in fact many of the restaurant and bar combinations have lower cut shirts for women as their uniform.

  14. Wrong on Boston Pizza

James Bonney already commented on this, but I’d like to second it: Boston Pizza does NOT have free kids meals no matter the expenditure of accompanying adults, and hasn’t for the past year or two.

Last year I was able to make a “Kids’ Help Phone” donation of $5, which provided us with a card for eight free kids meals (an amazing deal, as these are valued at $6.99 each). The back of the card states that the card cannot be used on the date of purchase, but our server at the time did allow it. This particular card expired on Sept. 30th, so I suspect that what James referred to above me is the same program, just fewer free meals (even one free meal is still a savings). YMMV for the use on date of purchase, and only some locations sell and honour these.

  15. Jason Archibald

Hey thanks for the post, I have to take care of my nephews for a week this is going to save me some coin; and give me an excuse to go to hooters, besides the wings.

    \rant
    – And just a heads up as a previous poster said “moxies” is quite suggestive and they only hire based on looks (and a little skill) yet is still suggested as a mid to high end family establishment. The times are changing, for better or worse, who are we to judge?

    Thanks again for the post.

  16. Monica

Tony Rom’s advertises that kids eat free on Monday’s. Don’t forget to join their Birthday Club mailing list and get a free entree’ of $18.99 for free.

  17. Shoegal

Philthy McNasty’s is a great place — don’t judge by the name. Lots of families go there for dinner. Just don’t take them late at night when it turns into a club.

  18. Annette

Join the kids birthday club at Lonestar and receive a coupon for free kids meal once a year.

  19. Cdngal

What’s wrong with taking a child to Hooters? Most people take their children to the beach where women wear less clothing than the Hooters uniform. It’s shorts, a tank top and an owl logo. Hoot!!

  20. Noah Grodecki

We appreciate you finding the time to post something special concerning golf, 19 Canadian Restaurants Where Kids Can Eat for FREE!! Canada. All over again, superb occupation and i am going to would suggest to any or all guys.

  21. Karin

I just found out that they no longer offer free kids meals at Joey’s Only! : (

  22. Amelia

Kids free at IHOP every day after 4pm (with an accompanying adult).

  23. Mélanie

In Québec, kids (12 and younger) eat free at “La cage aux sports” every sunday. Also kids eat free at Mikes every sunday. Of course, that is applicable when you buy an adult meal.

  24. Amanda

Boston Pizza in Medicine Hat doesn’t have free kids meals at all…whats up with that?

  25. menards black friday ad

It’s appropriate time to make some plans for the long run and it’s time to be happy. I’ve learn this post and if I could I wish to suggest you some attention-grabbing things or advice. Maybe you could write subsequent articles regarding this article. I want to read more issues about it!

  26. Colleen

Your site should take Boston Pizza off showing kids eat free during the week. We went to Peterborough, last night , the kids meal is $6.99. Still not a bad deal.
