At 7″, weighing only 0.92kg, and with an elegant sleek design, the ASUS Eee PC 4G mini Laptop is the perfect Christmas gift this year. It’s an ultra-portable mini laptop that you can easily carry around wherever you go.
The Asus Eee PC can be used for web browsing (comes with Mozilla Firefox), email, word-processing, and other office applications. You can also use Skype to place phone calls on the move! The Asus Eee PC comes preloaded with more than 40 applications for everything from work and email to listening to music and watching movies. Almost every application on this notebook is both useful and easy to use.
Retailing at CDN $399, the Eee PC isn’t exactly a workhorse, but it will do just about every basic task you’d need from a laptop. It comes pre-installed with a very user friendly version of Linux (that even your 90 year old Grandmother can use), but if you prefer to install Windows XP you can do so, since the Asus is compatible with Windows XP!
The laptop comes with no moving parts (it uses a Solid State storage disk) and therefore it’s shock proof. The only problem with the ASUS Eee PC is its short battery life of 3.5 hours.

Hi everyone,
If you are interested in this children’s laptop, you may also want to consider a similar option where you essentially get TWO laptops for the price of ONE… this project will send you a free children’s laptop, if you purchase one that is sent to a child in a developing country.
It’s available until December 31st…
ONE LAPTOP PER CHILD…

Sure, except the OLPC wont show up until well in to the new year.
You can also buy refurbished ones at low prices 🙂
Just be patient. The prices will come down and availability will be much better in the spring.
Let the “early adopters” jump thru hoops and take the monetary hit. It’s supposed to sell for $299 US.
Since when is 3.5 hours considered ‘short’ battery life? Only a few notebook computers will get much more than that.
