Dyson Vacuum Canada

HBC Home Outfitters Canada has a promo on Dyson vacuums: purchase any full size Dyson Canister vacuum and receive 1 million HBC Rewards points. These points are worth a $125 Home Outfitters Gift Card. The Dyson models included in this promo are Dyson DC20, DC21, DC23 & DC23 Animal with prices ranging from $499.99 to $749.99.

I personally have no experience with Dyson vacuums but starting at $499.99 they seem very pricey! Even after 1 million HBC rewards points! So I guess this deal would be good if you were planning on buying a Dyson vacuum anyway. Dysons are known to be particularly good if you have pets and family members with allergies.  Looking at the Dyson prices at Home Outfitters I can see they’re a bit inflated so it’s probably a good idea to compare prices to other  stores and make sure you’re getting the best deal.

Everything Dyson produces seems to be pretty pricey in general. Their Dyson Airblades which  are supposed to eventually replace the classical energy guzzling  hand-dryers in public washrooms cost around $1500 each. Dyson Airblades use some pretty neat technology stolen from similar to the Japanese Mitsubishi Jet Towel.

I own a Dyson I bought a couple years ago and I love it!!!! Yes, they are definitely pricey but you would be amazed (and a little grossed out) at what they pull out of your carpet. I would shop around though, Sears runs sales on them regularly and Future Shop carries them as well.

Yup, just what I want for Mother’s Day a vacuum cleaner. WTG Boys at the Bay. How sensitive of you. How politically correct in the year 2009.

While I’ve heard good things about the product I find this pretty sad. Maybe we can have just 1 day where we don’t have to think about housework.

Hey, Canadian Tire and Home Depot think that all men are flannel-wearing retired lumberjacks who can’t resist buying any tool, and who measure their manliness by how good they are at DIY. Seriously, try to find any Father’s Day promotion that isn’t garage or golf-related. ;)

Hey Charles maybe you and I should set these retailers straight!!!

C’mon kids. You take what you get when it comes to sales, no?
I know that I’ve been saving up for months now, just waiting for Fathers’ Day to run around so that we can buy ourselves a decent drill…

They’re overrated junk. More come back from dissatisfied customers than you’d wish to think. Take your million points if you want, but you can buy a bagless upright for around $100 & get the same performance. Save your money…

I have had my Dyson for over a year now and love it. I vacuum every other day and I have no complaints about the machine. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

My 70 year old mother (acts like she’s 40) purchased a Dyson demo model for $499 3 weeks ago. Upright purple pet one, and she’s been vacuuming for a long time every Saturday for as long as I remember. She loves it, it took her a while to get used to not having to go back & forth. It freaked her out a bit to see how much crap came up out of the carpet. She says it’s a bit heavy, but she’s a strong lady. I’m going to purchase one myself in the next week or two.

Plastic design. Its brittle. Most Dyson’s, I get in to be repaired are due to cracks in the plastic body, Again the weight of the machine does not help, If dropped or knocked over it will crack. The warranty will NOT cover this. Many are made in Malaysia, using cheap parts from China. I wrote this guide almost 2 years ago and come back to update. The biggest problem we are seeing is how brittle the plastic is getting.
