I have heard (and seen for myself) that Zellers is having an un-advertised sale on Downy Fabric Softener (both the liquid and the dryer sheets), Swiffer (wetjet refill), Dawn, etc. where you Buy 1 and get 2 FREE!
I know that Downy Liquid is about $5.99 each. So for that price you can get 3 bottles You can see the sign right near these products about the offer. You can use 3 coupons, even though 2 of the products will be free. So, for example, if you have 3 $1 Downy coupons and Downy costs $5.99 each, you will pay $2.99 for 3 BOTTLES! Great deal!
This has been confirmed for Ontario stores, but the sale is not valid in other locations.

Hi, Ive read about people using multiple coupons for purchases such as the one above, but the coupons i get from brandsaver and save.ca all state its one per purchase, so i never can get the deals on multiples like i hear others doing. So im not sure how its done.
ex: Mr.Clean 1.00 off, and people buy say, 5 of them, using 5 of their $1.00 of coupons, so they end up pay a ridiculously low price.
HOW IS IT DONE!!! 🙂
cause our cashiers that we run into really carefully read ALL our coupons.So im curious to see how its done, unless of course you go thru the cash 1x per 1 coupon, 5 times.. Wich is a bit time consuming.

Most coupons are only good on one product. But take the example for the Downy. You are acutally buying 3 bottles of Downy – thus 3 coupons. Even though you are actually getting the 2 for free – you are still purchasing 3 bottles. And if you were to purchase 3 bottles anywhere else, you could use one coupon per bottle.

I posted last Thursday that the Dawn was on for B1G2, but had not noticed the Downy and Swiffer as I was not in need of them. I found the Dawn in Zellers, Cole Harbour in NS so it is not just an Ontario sale for anyone wanting to check it out at their local Zellers.
I think the subject should be changed as the sale does not only apply to Ontario. I first spotted and posted it as being on sale in NS
I just went a Zellers and got the 3for1 Downy!!! Most of the selection is gone so I had to get three different scents, but that’s okay!
The Dawn was basically cleaned off the shelf though.
And the Swiffer wasn’t marked as B1G2 … that’s too bad, because I really would have liked to get that one!
Downy at 5.99.. Is it a 52-60 load bottle????
No the $5.99 bottle is the 40 load variety. But the 52-60 bottle is $7.99, I opted for that one.

There are no deals like this in ThunderBay, checked last night July 6th
I checked my local Zellers in Guelph Ontario
They had no offers on Downey or Dawn No notices either
They had a notice up on the Swiffer refill shelf but no swiffer product on the shelf
I was told they were just not available
Why do they offer these great offers only in select branches of Zellers ??

Went to 1 zellers in Windsor, ON and spoke with a manager who told me it was on discontinued products so it was limited quantities. He said they were getting in new products and needed to make room. Too bad I went too late and came home empty handed.
I was able to purchase 6 bottles of the simple pleasures Downy (35 uses) and used $2 off among 3 coupons, so it was only $10 at my Zellers store in Brantford, ON
Zellers at the Pickering Town Centre still had about 12 bottles of the lavender Downy as of 7pm this evening. I picked up three of those ($7.99) and six bottles of Dawn ($2.59) and got to use two Downy coupons on my purchase (I didn’t have a third).
Paid just over $13 for everything. This was a really great deal, thanks so much to whoever first posted about it.
I forgot to say, there was no sign at the Zellers in Pickering, but I put them in my cart and went to the cash prepared to ask about it.
The cashier first tried to say that the offer was only valid on the weekend, I told her no others got this deal yesterday.
She then called another cashier over to ask her about it, this cashier looked at me and told me “there’s no sign anymore”. I smiled politely, acknowledged that there wasn’t a sign, and asked if the offer wasn’t valid regardless until the 12th, she said yes but that their store only had the non-scented ones left that could be used on the offer. All the scented ones were sold.
I showed her my cart (which had the scented ones)… smiled again and asked aagain if the offer was still valid. She said yes, reluctantly, and I cashed out.
Kill them with smiles and polite responses. 🙂
I was just at my local Zellers (Hamilton, ON) and managed to get 3 of the $5.99 bottles, AND I used 3 $1 off coupons, soooooo I got $18 worth of product for $2.99 😀 😀 😀 Fabulous deal and thanks to whomever it was that mentioned using the 3 coupons! Btw for those still looking they still had some of the $7.99 bottles left, I just didn’t really care for the scents.

Just went to Zellers last night in Scarborough and although it wasn’t posted in the store anywhere, and the employees didn’t know about it, it still wrang up at but 1 get 2 free. Picked up 6 of the 7.99 bottles for $18 tax in.
square one zellers in mississauga still had a few 5.99 downy and 2.59 dawn left. no signs and employees didn’t know about it but they rang in as b1 get 2 free!
