McDonald’s in the United States first recalled Shrek glasses and now Canadian McDonald’s have followed. The recall is because of the cadmium in the paint. No word yet as to if there will be a refund for the $1.99 that consumers paid for these limited edition glasses but it is best that you stop using yours right away. I was sorry to read this as I thought they would be great to collect.

I hope someone makes some good parodies of the commercials after this recall. You know, ‘flip the glass this way and everybody is smiling then flip the glass the other way and they’re freaking out CAUSE THEY KNOW THEY’RE TOXIC.’ Those commercials really got on my nerves.

People…do you want this tainted product problem to end?? Buy American, Buy Canadian. But then most of you wouldn’t buy a $10 Happy Meal. Even knowing that your children won’t get poisoned…aside from the damage from eating the Happy Meal itself. The explosion of all those dollar stores show how cheap people are. So it’s all you that are driving the demand for organization to settle for cheap and possibly unsafe products.

Well my parents bought them for her .… everything seems to be tainted somehow these days no matter if you are cheap or not. You can’t even use plastic anything either. Why don’t we all just go back to preparing our own foods (every meal) every day then? WHy don’t we make our own medicine to?and every other store bought item? The motrin medicines were recently recalled. In this day in age it isn’t practical because women also have to work and good luck getting a man to do that and work.
Just like everything causes cancer.We are all gonna leave the world one day,if it is meant to happen then it will happen. Pretty sure people have been useing some of these materials a very long time. The paint thing seems more serious to me though because you are drinking from it directly.
Anyway i heard ( not sure if it is true) that it wouldn’t be good to keep them as a collectors item (unless u wear gloves everytime you touch them) because you are touching the paint which is where the problem truely lies and it will seep into your skin that way.

The paint is apparently toxic enough you need gloves? The parents and everyone who bought them should be sueing them then, theres no way the paint should be that hazardous!!

Hell, return them for your money back if you really feel the need or just pitch the damn things. All the time spent worrying about this is time stolen from your life you will never get back. Lead poisoning is very serious. It occurs in children mostly due to the lead that’s in paint. which has been banned here to my knowledge. I know first hand how bad just a little exposure is. they always thought i was “allergic” to paint. If I got a whiff of it, I became very ill. Not all paint bothered me, but the stuff used in school’s was bad. they were painting the hall by the gym, and i told the teacher, i can’t go thru there, i’m allergic. he made me go anyway, said i’d only be in the hall for a minute. no i couldn’t hold my breath that long. and i was off the rest of the week nauseated, dizzy and felt like death.
