Not exactly free…You have to send them a cheque for 9 dollars

  2. B. Lardner says:

I will gladly pay the $8.45 to help my daughter discover that real beauty is not what is shown in magazines and on t.v.

  3. Kj says:

I wonder how good the quality of a camera worth 20 dollars is…

  4. Victoria says:

this blows. the camra is cheap.
    FALSE ADVERTISMENT MUCH!

  5. Boo Radley says:

I didn’t know you had to send in a cheque for $9
    sorry about that

  6. finisherd says:

  7. swati says:

eww. this totally turned me off.

  8. Danielle says:

I think this is fantastic 😀 I can’t wait to see what my daughter sees as real beauty!!!

Kids don’t need a 200-300$ digital camera. This will do just fine..and the 9$ shipping is reasonable! 🙂

    Thanks Dove!!!

For a free digital camera, I think it is okay.

I thought this was a good idea too, when i saw the commercial on TV. When I visited the website, I totally changed my opinion. For a $20 camera, you have to buy 3 different products, which will more than most likely put you close to $20 if not over. The $9 dollar s/h fee….well if you live in ontario, as i do, you also have to add pst & gst…so now your $20 dollar camera ends up costing you $25…(more than the suggested value of the camera)….is this a good deal??? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I hate hidden fees….what a let down.

  11. Angie says:

Consider this: this is an opportunity to get a $20 for $9.
I think this is a great capaign by Dove. Certainly it gives this company more character than some faceless import shampoo/soap company “X Island Botanicals” or “Y Hair Care”. The whole idea of their marketing capaign is that “You buy this product because you care about being a REALISTIC, CONFIDENT, CARING, GENEROUS woman.”
People who are in it simply for a digital camera are not the target. And IF you want a worthwhile digital camera, then go and spend money on it. Quality products aren’t free. It costs money to design, manufacture, ship, and sell quality products. How could any company afford to give that away for free? Consumers really need a reality check.

The commercial should at least say “Buy 3 dove products and get a digital camera for the price of shipping.” I think this is a marketing scam to make people go to their website and waste our time in the hope that we will buy their products.

  13. pats says:

First off all i don’t know what everyone is bitching about it says right in the comercial that the camera is for kids. Second off all it does say in the comercial that you have to buy 3 “different” products and pay for shipping ——Theres always the fine print at the bottom of the screen…..i think that is the perfect camera for kids. I buy dove products…..if you ask me theres nothing better so a digital camera for 9-10 dollars and 3 products that i’m going to buy anyways……Hey i think thats a pretty sweet deal….Kids LOVE getting mail so i think that alone is worth 10.00.

Honestly you people didn’t really think that you were going to get some great digital camera for next to nothing did yas??? i do think that dove should have used the actual camera in the comercial but hey its called ADVERTISING…and i mean really ….isnt all advertising false advertising???? Rarely if ever is anything as good as they say it is……

ayway the point is this isnt for ppl who want a free camera its geared towards ppl who buy dove products anyways

    Hey everyone,

I’m not ashamed to say that I, a 31yr old woman, sent away for this – for myself 🙂

Yes, I spent approx. $17.00 for products I use and needed anyways. I actually bought 4 Dove products (body wash, shampoo, conditioner and bar soap) so I would guess that the 3 would’ve only been about $13/$14 total.

    I agree, the $9.09 is for S/H.

I’m not expecting it to take brilliant pics, but you never know 😉 I don’t think a reputable company such as Univlever would really try to ‘screw’ their customers over with the promotions they offer…..either way, I just wanted a little camera I can carry with me at all times.

Besides, I can’t see this taking any worse photos then those who use the cams on their cell phones.

Anyhoo….i’ll let you know when I get it in the mail…and maybe, if i’m allowed, i’ll post my first pic on this site!!!

  16. YiPo says:

Does anyone have the drivers for this camera that I can get a copy of please ??
    Many Thanks, YiPo

  17. Dillon says:

Every time i come here I am not dissapointed, nice post

  18. Tammy says:

I would just rather enjoy the pjs, tshirts & jackets that Dove puts out every year.
The camera seems nice, but I think I will pass this time.

  19. Master says:

I previously owned the Sony T500 because our family needs a camera that can take HD video, but also great photos in one package. I recently upgraded my personal camera and was going to hand down the T500 to my wife, but she did not like the all touchscreen controls. She prefers physical dials and buttons. So I sold off that camera and went in search of one with similar or better features that would be easy to use. I ended up going with the W290 and it easily surpasses the T500 in photo quality. Right out of the box she was taking great photos on the auto setting. Low light shooting is problematic for all point and shoots, but the W290 did much better than I expected, just don’t expect miracles. The 3 inch screen is gorgeous. I don’t think I could ever go back to the 2.7 screens anymore.

I did end up getting this piece of crapola camera in the mail…a couple of years ago…its bad bad bad…i wouldn’t even get it for a child…the picture quality is horrible…

i threw mine in the garbage….

the only good that came out of it, is my purchase ‘donated’ money to the Dove foundation…
