Today is apparently National “Hug Your Cat Day”. It’s the official day for people who have cats to show that they love them. It is a proven fact that hugs from animals lower a person’s blood pressure and decrease stress. So go ahead, grab your kitty or kitties and give them a big hug, some extra grooming, and a little catnip. My cat is getting a haircut tomorrow, I bet she will just loooooove that 
Funny, as I was reading that my cat knocked over the flower vase on the table, scared to poop out of me and made a big mess. and u said “lower a person’s blood pressure and decrease stress”? hmmm, lol

Our whole family hugs our cat. She isn’t fond of being held in place. She won’t swat or claw at the kids, but she meows as to say, “Lemme go! Someone help!”
If I hug my cat, chances are she will rip into the flesh on my arm. She really hates hugs. She does however like to be brushed so I think I’ll give her some extra love by brushing her. Haha.
@lalita — haha yeah. some cats don’t like to be hugged, my cats are pretty independent and just like to be left alone, my one likes to cuddle too, won’t leave me alone.

I wish my cats were snuggly cats.…out of four, one is and thats it…sometimes the other one will come up and we call him the attention seeker, because he won’t settle down, he sometimes is right in your face meowing and pawing you, then when you go pet him, he runs away…the other 2 female cats are very independant, only come when they feel like it.
I hug my cats everyday. I can’t believe they made a day for this!
My 5 month old snuggles my cat and he loves it, hes very gentle with her…more than he is me. She showed hugged him to=day then lol
Aw I love to hug my cat. He’s a big suck, although he pretends like he’s all independent. It’s like hugging a small dog though lol, he’s a giant 20 lb cat.
