McDonald’s: Free Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich (Feb. 9 – 10, 2011)

mcd

Here is another freebie from McDonald’s! On Feb. 9-10, 2011 during breakfast hours, they’ll be giving out free Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwiches (choice of Sausage Egg and Cheese, Bacon Egg and Cheese, or Sausage only). Call your local McDonald’s to see if they are participating. Some nutritional facts about this sandwich include (for the Sausage Only variety): 460 calories, 28 g fat (15 g of which is saturated fat), 810 mg sodium, and 40 g carbs. Obviously, not a healthy breakfast choice, but I know there are some people out there that love McDonald’s no matter what and would enjoy a breakfast freebie. Looking at the picture above, it definitely looks tasty!

Thanks Bridges48!

Free is always good..but in saying that, I tried one this week and the biscuit was dry. I waited while it was being made, i know it was fresh..not old.

  2. CARL says:

Amazing, I moved here from the US and grew up with these, so I’m so happy they are finally here in Canada

  3. julyprincess says:

Why not any veggie options like just egg or cheese?

  4. Shawna says:

I’ve been waiting for these bisquits to come here! I always get them when we go shopping in the U.S. They’re so good!

  5. Ruby says:

Nothing at McDonald’s is truly vegetarian julyprincess…people are better off staying home and eat a banana folks!
Also, nothingin life is truly free..think of what that garbage is going to cost your life?

  6. Diego says:

They did the same free giveaway back in early December in our city. The first day almost everyone from our office went for the freebie. The second day only one person went. The rest of us found it too greasy and disgusting. We gather the only reason they’re doing the promo is to drum up public awareness. Unfortunately, we are now aware why americans love this thing….and the gordos up north.

  7. Kimberley says:

Thats kinda of insulting isn’t it Diego? I don’t think people up north want to be called fat!

  8. Patty says:

    Wow, how compassionate.

  9. CARL says:

I’m sure you will be able to order it just egg and cheese. In the US you can get all kinds of variations.

The best deal you can get is just the sausage biscuit for .99 cents

  10. Joe Mead says:

I would feed it to my dog,, but my dog died from eating timbits

  11. Kyla says:

I agree about veggie options, also for those of us who do not eat pork. But if you ask them to hold the bacon it should be okay since they are saving an ingredient.

  12. Kyla says:

Aww..sorry to hear Joe πŸ™ but the timbits weren’t chocolate?

  13. sweetmomma says:

I will likely try it! I don’t eat there often but once and awhile is ok.

  14. Liz says:

Wow Mickey D’S is delicious if you don’t like it is simple don’t eat it ;D

  15. Betty says:

Wow Mickey D’S is delicious if you don’t like it is simple don’t eat it ;D

  16. LoveADeal says:

Does Toronto even HAVE the buttermilk biscuits yet? I know they’ve been in Ottawa for a while, (I saw them there in August 2010) but I’m pretty sure we don’t have them in the GTA yet. Let’s hope it starts in time for the freebie!

  17. jayshanny says:

Thanks for the posting Bridges 48. Too bad people insist on being rude in their comments!

  18. Eric says:

I tried the McBiscuits the other day and I found it too doughy. I couldn’t even taste the egg. I’ll stick with McMuffins or McGriddles for something different.

Although, the BLT Bagel is still my fave on their breakfast menu (used to be the burritos, but lately they’ve been lacking)

  19. sampler says:

If they are like the Tim Hortons ones, I think I will get along with them…quiet nicely .. πŸ™‚

  20. Amanda says:

This sounds great, drop the biscuit and the carb count goes WAY down so that works for me!!! πŸ™‚ I may just have to check this out πŸ™‚ Thanks!!!

  21. jennn says:

breakfast is suppose to be the healthiest meal of the day. I just can’t see how people are willing to feed themselves this πŸ™

  22. tudorchick says:

okay people.no one is forcing you to eat it.you dont like something free don’t comment about it or force others to feel bad about their choices..simple..

  23. Jessica says:

Everyone is allowed to indulge every once and awhile, I know I wouldn’t survive if I didn’t. Plus its free! πŸ™‚

  24. Barb says:

Joe Mead that is funny! Sorry about your dog though.

  25. Ruby says:

I choose to comment, because I have an opinion. I believe that’s the reason behind the feeds – so that there can be a discussion about what is being offered. From the discussion here, I would say that a great many people feel that despite being free, this product isn’t worth the price. Do I want to make others feel badly about their choices? No, but do keep in mind that McDonald’s, and similar companies, are working the opposite angle – trying to make such choices seem positive, when they clearly aren’t. And this has an impact not just on the consumers of such goods. Indulge, by all means. That is your choice. If you need or want an adult to tell you that the choices people are making in regards to their health are leading to rampant diabetes and heart disease, I’ve got one. If not, find the nearest available box to order into from the comfort of your car and resist the urge to be part of the solution rather than the problem. Oh, and Joe Mead – sorry to hear about your dog!

  26. Nigel says:

Simply put it’s free to try it. If you like it you go back and buy another.
If you are a vegetarian or healh freak …. Why are you buying food from Mc D’s??

  27. Nigel says:

    Well said …tudorchick

  28. mhk says:

mmmmmm – free sounds great! At least worth a try – I am addicted to the egg mcmuffins. And you don’t HAVE to eat them every day…. once in a while is good. After all, elephants are vegetarians and look at their size! PS I love elephants, and no – I am not as big as one – yet πŸ˜‰

  29. PearLS says:

I lost my job 5 months ago. Times are bad. Real bad. My 3 kids will have breakfast before school for two days next week.
People with too many choices always have too much to say…. As I read the comments above.

  30. PeaNutty says:

Pearl, I’m really sorry to hear about losing your job. Time’s are tough but there are systems in place to help you and your kids. Choices are hard to come by for sure, but the opinion of others I think is still valid. Mainly, McDonald’s harms more than helps society, especially those people who live at or below the poverty line. It is a fact that these simple carbohydrates and sugar cause a plethora of health problems and while you may feel like feeding your kids a free breakfast sandwhich is helping them, it may actually cause them health problems like type 2 diabetes, and obesity.

I encourage EVERYONE to look into some positive options like Community Kitchens, Community Gardens, and Family supports that can not only help feed you and your kids, but also greatly enhance the quality of life (socially and economically).

Make Healthy Food Choices Everyone – It’s way cheaper, healthier, and tastier. πŸ™‚

  31. willowsprite says:

…and less taxing to the health care system! πŸ™‚

  32. Allie says:

Seriously, people. If you like the deal, say thanks. If you don’t, shut up and don’t force your opinions on others.
I’m intelligent enough to realize that McDonalds by definition isn’t the greatest, but it’s not friggin poison like some people are making it seem. It’s totally okay once in awhile, so I’m saying thanks! πŸ™‚

  33. PeaNutty says:

@Allie “and don’t force your opinion on others…but it’s not friggin poison like some people are making it seem.” is actually YOUR OPINION…

We all have opinions and I don’t think that merely writing text is forcing people to believe one thing or another, but perhaps provides alternative ideas and suggestions….

For example, you, Allie suggested we shut up if we disagree with something. Perhaps your could put your skills to use on Stephen Harper’s campaign against standing up for what your believe in… since that is how power and control seek to exist and subordinates just accept whatever is forced upon them.

I will end this by saying Thank You for reading and providing a forum where all opinions favourable or not are allowed to exist in a space together.

  34. tudorchick says:

i just can’t believe people can’t see a persons’ post letting people know of a deal as just that.i like to eat beef..is a vegan following me around the grocery store telling me not to eat it and giving me statistics on diabetes? no. it is fine to voice your opinion but seriously, people.they were just letting you know of a good deal.you hate who is giving the deal? fine…i just think it is pathetic that we have to have “obesity/diabetes/etc” thrown in our face…by the way i dont sit on my couch eating mcdonalds all day.i eat it maybe once every two weeks if i am in a hurry and want breakfast.cant remember the last time i ate a burger there.i used to get nuggets once in awhile but usually it is a breakfast wrap..this is a good deal, for two days.leave it at that…don’t like it,you don’t have to…

  35. tudorchick says:

i really never meant in any way to be rude i just don’t see the point in arguing on a post informing people about a free sandwich. =)

  36. Ruby says:

Please, please, do not throw obesity in my face. Especially if its hairy and/or sweaty. I would hate to have those that promote healthy lifestyles be as persistent as, say, McDonald’s. After all, the golden arches, in terms of being recognized worldwide, are second only to…none. If people prefer to hear that consuming a day’s worth of calories for breakfast is a positive thing, there’s little room for logic here. It’s easy to justify such a choice – but the success of purveyors of such “food” demands that someone voice a counter-argument, even if such an argument is erroneously labeled as a personal condemnation of eating habits. Obesity and diabetes may not make for pleasant conversation, or be as cheery as the latest clown-drenched commercial, but given our country’s tendency to consume without considering consequence, perhaps it’s a conversation we need to have. Our passive acceptance of eating McDonald’s twice a week is disconcerting.

  37. tudorchick says:

clearly this is just going to go on and on.and i don’t intend on staying on the thread any longer.i do appreciate those who live a healthy lifestyle.how is me or anyone who indulges once in awhile not healthy? i am not obese..not even close…if me eating mcdonalds in moderation makes me obese, even though i am active every day, both with my child and by myself, cook almost every day, healthy meals, and have a low bmi,i guess i am obese to a stranger.sheesh people….i bid you a good day

  38. bmcphee says:

    go troll elsewhere

you stink of troll….you guys are all over this site with your various usernames…get a life

tudorchick, these guys are trolls….been problems for awhile…dont feed

  39. NO WAY says:

OH MY, i wonder if there a posting about a free head of lettuce would that sir up some comments. In all reality I am sure we are mostly all Adults and can make our own decisions based on the info provided to us. Eating a breakfast sandwich is not going to kill you, heck if you know how you are going to die then let us in on the secret. The point is nobody knows and if we worry about the calories in this or if it is bad for you then the stress will kill you.. Lighten up, enjoy life trust me it can be gone in the blink of an eye. I had a brain tumor removed a few years back and it wasn’t from eating at MC D’s.. There is more crap sprayed on the lettuce now a days unless you eat organic..

  40. donny68 says:

    bmcphee,

If you have the nerve to publish what is a private (or is supposed to be private) e-mail on this site, I would challenge to come out from behind your own username and publish YOUR e-mail address here. By doing this, you will demonstrate you willingness to be as forthcoming as you expect others to apparently be. You stink of something much worse than troll. You are a hypocritamous. That’s right. A giant, drooling, lumbering hypocritamous. Gutless.

  41. bmcphee says:

i did provide my email address…

  42. notbmcphee says:

oh you mean publicly? no, i choose to post other peoples email addresses here while i keep mine private.

  43. donny68 says:

Is it just me, or is the internet is a sea of endless diatribes and voices without substance? These appear in a blaze of light and heat, and with an opposing gust of wind, the embers continue to glow crimson, but soon trail into a wisp of smoke. And are gone. Be a voice in your community, where real change can occur – when you see a fellow human being subjected to needless suffering, hungering for sympathy, or simply craving a word of kindness. We are all real people, even if the anonymity of cyberspace would suggest otherwise.

  44. bmcphee says:

i didnt write that..last comment..man there is sure alot of trolling going on here as of late

  45. bmcphee says:

so stealing someones’ username is okay and writing things as if you were them is..just because they call you out..nice…

  46. bmcphee says:

get a life.quit trolling, and if you use my username again i will report you..

  47. TimInOntario says:

meh..don’t really care for their sandwiches, but free is free.i had their coffee and it is better than tim hortons..so now i just go for the coffee…i’d like to find out what blend they use

  48. PeaNutty says:

@bmcphee – Where did you get my email address from? It says on the Smart Canucks site that “Mail(will not be published).” WTF is going on here? Who is running this site and letting this information be published? Where is the moderation?

I am not a troll, but a person with an opinion. I don’t live under a bridge, nor do I have crazy blue hair.

BM are you saying that someone hacked your username because I have met a lot of liars in my day who say garbage like that when they don’t want to take the heat themselves.

Smart Canucks can you please moderate bmcphee’s comments and take the email that BMCPHEE disclosed OFF this comments link. This is ridiculous.

  49. PeaNutty says:

    Thank You donny68!

  50. TimInOntario says:

you guys are nuts…enjoy the sandwich…it is good.i ahd one in the states and it is good

  51. itsjustmebub says:

  52. jimbits says:

wow! can my email be posted on smartcanucks too? i supose it really doesnt matter since you can make up anything an email or a username. i’m obviously not going to leave a real email if people are going to illegally put it here!

  53. jimbits says:

lol itsjustmebub! but maybe they’re more hairy than some!

  54. itsjustmebub says:

removing email addresses as well as changing user name for the person pretending to be another member

    get a life guys lol

  55. Mary says:

    Gosh that’s gross.

  56. sally says:

Nobodys information was stolen, unfortunately all the posts originated from the same ip, someone in their house is playing a nasty joke. Please pm me tudor chick on the forum.

  57. tudorchick says:

    are you sally888 on there?

  58. del says:

Everyone here is over-reacting to what is really a non-issue. First of all, you will not mess up your health by eating occassionally at MCDonalds. Every one has a vice and needs to treat themselves to whatever suits them. If not you would probably be a sad, angry and deprived person. Those of you here who bash others food habits need to get a life elsewhere.

  59. TallNFunny says:

I find McDonalds’ food easier to digest than some of the posts on here! πŸ™‚ I think what we ALL want to say is: Thank you Bridges48 for posting. Don’t we? If we bash every free thing that is posted, maybe people will stop posting and we don’t want that.

  60. I’m not too fond of doughy things in general, but I’m a protein kind of guy. I will eat the sausage, the egg, and the cheese, but I might not eat the biscuit itself.

  61. Kyla says:

I understand both sides of the argument here. It would be nice if they would offer healthier promotions and help educate people about healthier choices, but they rarely do that. A lot of people appreciate anything free as it helps out on a tight budget. Sad fact of life, the so called unhealthy crap is the cheapest so thats why so many go to Mcdonalds rather than the olive garden or whatever. I am lucky that at my university they serve free vegan lunches for a very small tuition fee levy.

  62. Kyla says:

Bottom line is that no one should bash another for their food preferences because there will always be a counter argument. Everyone has an unhealthy indulgence. Its good to share advice but not in an imposing way.

  63. littlepath says:

there was a little toolshed where he made us suffer

  64. crystal says:

    Mmmmmmmmmmmm, soooooo good!!!!

  65. tina says:

I just got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich this morning and it was really good. I was expecting the biscuit to be dry and heavy but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was warm and flaky. And the bacon and egg was cooked exactly right. Overall, it was very well made, considering it’s mcdonalds so I’m glad I tried it out. It’s a bit rich for my taste so I don’t think I’ll be eating it regularly but it was nice to indulge for once especially since it was free πŸ™‚

  66. ruthcooper says:

Super indulgence compared to my normal breakfast. Really really yummy biscuits!

  67. TallNFunny says:

I had the sausage, egg and cheese. Personally I prefer the english muffins, but it was a tasty change. I agree with tina that the meat and egg were cooked exactly right. The egg wasn’t even the usuall rubbery egg – was a folded fried egg. I’m also not even going to pretend it was nutricious though.

  68. Admin says:

I am sorry but everyone just go to:

    http://nostatusquo.com/stopmcdonalds/index.html

  69. Admin says:

STOP THEM FROM TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD. THEIR FOOD IS SICK & DISGUSTING.

  70. Chill, guys says:

Calm down people, eating a McDonald’s sandwich is like eating a frozen pie from the supermarket, 500 cals for a tiny thing. However everyone hates on McDs because of the large amount of anti McDonalds propaganda going around, if the same amount was going against potato chips then everyone would hate on fried potato chips.

It’s not good for you, sure. Just limit how much you eat.
If we all lived some uptight life with no small happiness, then what is the point of living a long mundane life?

  71. Svetlana says:

Too bad we don’t eat pork
I wish they would give just the biscuit with the eggs

  72. sally says:

take the sausage off, or ask for it without it.

  73. dbl says:

Hey all, did you ever think about all the people in your communities that McDonald’s employs, educates, trains, develops, sends to college, helps create wealth and enables many, many, many individuals around the World to benefit from their good will (Take the time to research Ronald McDonald House Charities one of these days instead of bashing them! Maybe you will learn a thing or two about how compassion helps drive this great company?? BTW, my biscuit sandwiche was AWESOME today. And I was told that you can get them with jam, with butter, with just egg, just cheese, anyway you like them.

  74. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  75. Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it
was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly
enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any helpful hints for inexperienced blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
