*Offer valid Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11, 2010 in BC, MB, SK, ON, and AB only. Offer valid on the purchase total of eligible products after discounts and redemptions and before taxes. Excludes prescription purchases, products with codeine, tobacco products (where applicable), stamps, passport photos, lottery tickets, event tickets, transit tickets and passes, electronic gift cards, Life Experiences® packages and prepaid phone cards. Not to be used in conjunction with any other Shoppers Drug Mart promotion or offer. While quantities last. See cashier for details.

** Cineplex Entertainment admit one tickets are valid at Cineplex Entertainment LP theatres. Please see admit one tickets for full terms and conditions and expiry dates. Some conditions apply.

For this offer, I believe the $75 is after coupons, as the cashier has to hand you the Cineplex Tickets, instead of the computer applying points as with a 20x points when you spend $75 promo. If anyone can clarify this for us, please post here.

Another thanks goes out to cesme77 for posting the flyer and to FallenPixels for posting the freebie!

NWT has this offer on our flyer too. But we don’t have a Cineplex here (but we have a mcdonald’s!) I wonder what we are getting instead!

  2. Chase

Maybe nothing… looks like Quebec isn’t getting anything either.

  3. Tara

Neat! Unless you really need to spend that money… I find the offer silly when the Tums offer is out there.. go buy 3 bottles of Tums.. spend $10–12 without any coupons… 2 movie passes, lol. Or in that $75 at SDM, buy the 3 bottles of Tums… muh haha! 4 movie tickets!! But of course, what a great offer with SDM, no doubt!! Each to their own!

All promtions for shoppers drugmart (ie points promotion, gift card promotions, movie pass promotion, etc.) is always and I mean ALWAYS… After discounts(redeeming of points), SDM coupons (like the $10/$20 they give away), item coupons (yes! the coupons we print or cut out from magazanies and such?, etc.

Basically if they spend $XX to get ********. The “$XX” is what you are paying for(tax not counted). So take the coupons for example… If you use a $2 coupon for an item basically you’re not paying the $2 part of that item, so it doesn’t count in the “$XX”.

coupons are a form of cash, and unless they changed their systems since the last 20x points event, you get your points based on what you spend BEFORE coupons NOT after.

  6. Insane

The problem with these events is it’s cashier dependant, so the cashier looks at the total and says yes or no. That’s why it usually doesn’t work AFTER coupons. When it’s computer determined, it is BEFORE coupons. And yes, you do pay the tax on the BEFORE amount, despite what you think. If you calculated it you’d see the tax amount does not match the subtotal, but matches the before coupons amount.

  7. cassie/mrsjanuary

of course, you pay the taxes on it all.

and sorry, i wasnt saying you will get the movie tickets if you spend $75 BEFORE coupons — only AFTER. but you WILL get the 18,500 points as long as you spend $75 BEFORE coupons.
