Does anyone know if you can redeem for gift cards?
I almost sure that you cannot use the points for cards. I tryed to once and they said no. You could ask though.
anyone know how often this particular special of extra $$ for points comes up? I just did the 20X points last week and have quite a bit of shoppers stuff, don’t really want to get more right now. Just want to make sure that this one will come around again soon, not like it’s a once a year thing.

Found it really difficult to find good deals today at SDM worth redeeming 40,000 points for…Typically stuff is 30% cheaper and you get bulk sizes at Loblaws and Zellers which you don’t get at SDM. Even OTC drugs are cheaper at Loblaws.
I used my points and got an AWEsome digital camera for $14.95.
$200 off. Now if only Shoppers didn’t have a falling out with Apple, I’d be aiming for a new iPod.
The only way you can get gift cards for points is in a very tricky way. I purchased the wrong camera with my points and wanted to return it. They couldn’t put my points back on my SDM optimum card so they issued me a gift card for equal dollar amount. A back end way of doing it, but if you want to be tricky, that’s how!
FYI, just one thing to be aware of re: any GIFT Card you buy at Shoppers Drug Mart.
If you buy one for somebody and you then change your mind, you are out of luck. You cannot return or exchange GIFT cards.

Items that cannot be refunded or exchanged are listed on their website, but it would have been nicer to have been told at the time of purchase or have them mark on the receipt (no exchange or refund).
