Good news for those who have been worried that the end date for Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum was December 31st and had not been updated. Forum member Anna Michele posted this notice available in stores that shows that Optimum has been extended with no end date. They can however give 45 days notice of ending the program at which point you will have 90 additional days to redeem your points with any points left in your account being forfeited.
So I guess we are not switching to PC Plus just yet, it could still be in our future for those Optimum addicts out there, you can enjoy your points for now and not worry about whether you should shop before a potential end of the program in December.
Which do you prefer? PC Plus or Shoppers Optimum? You can see the discussion on our forums here.
A shocker for me I had no idea that Shoppers was giving up their points program. It has always been my favourite, but since Loblaws took over, all the prices have gone way up in Shoppers, including the clearance prices.Pc points is
now my favourite, and I redeem them every 2 months
I find the clearance prices are more due to the manager/store owner. I regularly shop at 2 stores depending on what else I need to pickup while out and occasionally go to two others – they vary a lot in clearance prices, customer service, stock levels and everything else. One of them I previously avoided at all costs and only went to if I had to go to the PO to pick up something as it is in the store. They recently got a new manager and suddenly the store is cleaner, employees nicer, they are more coupon friendly and always have a decent clearance section with good prices when the previous clearance was maybe one shelf and not a whole end cap
The day the Optimum loyalty plan changes to PC Points is the day I stop shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart.
I did not know that Optimum might be finishing. Shoppers is not have fav store neither since they got the new unfriendly computer system that staff cannot even use easily.Blame it all on Weston.
Both programs are my favourite programs. I will be sad to see it go but I know it’s going to happen-soon. Sniff sniff.
Come on Mega Redemption!!!
