I enjoyed watching the movie I Am Legend but I thought the ending was terrible and made no sense what so ever. Turns out, Will Smith and the rest of the cast had filmed a different ending as well. I’m not sure if I like that ending either; it’s a bit too “hollywoody”. Here’s the alternative ending… Do you like it more?

Much worse. This would only work if they changed the entire movie to go with it.
That was horrible.
I enjoyed the movie in the theatre except for the ending but this one is much worse.
I really enjoyed the movie. I wasn’t too keen on the original ending. I will say though, I did like this one. Yes, it’s a bit “hollywoody” but it is a happier ending for me :o)
I think the other ending left it more open for a sequel. This one does not.
The thing to remember is that it was basically a remake of the 1970’s movie Omega Man with Charlton Heston. I didn’t find the ending confusing at all.

I didn’t like the original ending, it was quite abrupt. And left a lot to be assumed. Including.. WHY didn’t anyone else [the survivors at this protected area] hear will smith’s radio messages?
did the rest of the world die? or was it just ny?

throughout the movie, the zombie-people portrayed very limited intelligence, why suddenly they have communication ability? And suddenly they’re reasonable?
oh, and both endings sorta blow.
WAY better ending – this one actually MAKES SENSE!
Do not like this ending at all. Theater version much better, in my opinion. At least then, Will Smith, full of regret, sacrifices himself to save the woman and child. They go on to find the refuge of survivors, with the potential cure; a refuge that Will did not believe existed. This ending is all feel-good Hollywood smarm – yuck.
I find this one better. About the intelligence portraied by the infected: Over the whole movie their intelligence seems to evolve.
I found this one interesting.
This ending is _slightly_ more true to the book.

I find the movie a bit dull and boring.
Only part that starts to make it interesting is when the zombies evolve and strike back.
This ending makes more sense cause they have to feed on flesh.
Will took a loved one. And they go search for their kind.
Afterall they are still human in a way.
And they spare Will’s life because he gave her back.
This isn’t a good ending either a good ending would be a fight between survival.
Than he was legend in general.
Now he’s a doctor that found a cure. The legend ends there.

The theatre ending wasn’t great ~ this alternate
one,even worse.The ending is really the only fault
I have with this film.However,it does develop a good
foundation for a sequel.
I would have preferred an ending where Dr. Neville
died knowing they would feast on him,possibly some
cured through his blood…..leading to a much more
interesting opener for the next one.
Those cured desperately trying to get to Vermont
being trailed at night………..

Personally I liked this version of the ending. Both me and my husband for the real ending though it was pretty freaking stupid.
We both were yelling give him back his woman. It was pretty obvious that thats why the orignal mutant had came out into the light when he took her.
I would of preffered if it showed them in Vermont with this ending, like the original, but with Will Smith there as well.
Of course this ending wasnt perfected because it never made the cut, obviously it would of had to be scaled down to fit in because at times it seemed slow motion to me, other then that personally I would of preffered this ending much better.
Im really tired of stupid endings and it seems to be the new trend.
