Nope didn’t buy anything. Just enjoyed my Xmas gifts!

  2. Linda says:

I had to visit Bath & Body Works and I got a closet shelf full of oh so yummy hand soaps, luscious body cremes and even some great scented wall flowers, lets not forget the handful of pocketbac. Thanks to SC I used my save $15 wus $50 and saved a bundle and walked away with a huge bag full of lots of bottles of amazing smell goods.

  3. honeydoo says:

    what i didn’t buy is a shorter list! ><

  4. George says:

Have to say that the deals where pretty bad.

I even noticed that some mayor retailers hiked the prices compared to pre christmas and still want us to believe we get a deal.

I ended up buying some seasonal candy and a pair of headphones that where 50% off and i needed.

The grand total just over 15 dollars

  5. Jram says:

4GB xbox kinect for $17 with tax. Priced at $249.99 with $75 GC and redeemed 95000 points for $170 and earned 18,500 optimum points SDM rocks! 😉

  6. Munz says:

Got stuck @ home with sick kids and parents 🙁

  7. Lori says:

Nothing, I guess there are so many sales throughout the year that I’m not really that impressed anymore. Buying wrapping paper for $3.50 instead of $7.00 AFTER Christmas just doesn’t do it for me.

  8. moureen says:

nothing, anything that was on sale, was really the ugly stuff…the sale was not impressive at all merchandise was no good either.

  9. Minou says:

    Free jeans at Old Navy
Glysomed gift sets from Superstore (facial moisturizer, hand lotion, lip balm)
Nivea face gift set from Shoppers
75% off ornaments for a second Christmas tree for the basement. Blue and Silver. Bought a bunch.
Tissue paper and gift bags for half price.
    Bath set as birthday gift
Gold-wrapped boxes of chocolates to be used for Valentine’s Day.
Spring/Fall jacket for DS from Gymboree: $12.99 Rubber boots = $12.99 (a lot, but they were cute, and it’s hard to find boots for under $20 in the spring!)
GAP Warmest jacket parka and snowpants in navy blue = $40 for DS. Anybody bought these ones for their kids? $40 is more than I normally pay for a snowsuit.. Are they any good, or should I return the snowsuit?

  10. moom says:

I saved a fortune – didn’t go out to the “sales”.

Do you really need to buy more stuff when in all likelihood you’ve just got a houseful of stuff already? I know we’re a consumer society but is it really worth getting up at 5am just to “save” $300 on a TV when the one you have is perfectly fine and the $300 off price will be the normal price of the same TV in 2 – 3 months anyway?

  11. jj says:

the boxing day sales aren’t as good as they used to be
some stores used to have 50% off now its 40 or 30…

  12. Fay. H. says:

Bought nothing because there was nothing good

  13. joy says:

I bought only a pair of gloves. Crowds were crazy, selection was miserable, nobody around to help. Thought I had lucked out at the Bay by finding myself the perfect wallet, get up to the register and discover that wallets aren’t included in the 40% off accessories sale! I guess I should have known that they weren’t included because they were too nice. Sigh.

  14. Fab says:

i went to Rideau Center in Ottawa, it was packed!, unfortunately the sales were not up to the crazyness..the amount of people gave me the impression the deals were going to be of the hook…but not really… the merchandise was ugly, and the few good items were overpriced so with the discount it was just OK. I didnt buy anything.

  15. Amy says:

My first time posting but I was really happy with my purchases today! I decided to tag along with my Dad to Canadian tires while he got ‘useful house things’ and I ended up in the Christmas section which wasn’t massively reduced except for the one corner they were trying to clear out. Most of which was just wreaths and wreath ornaments. Which suited me just fine. The ornaments were usually $2-4 being on sale now for 50 cents. Got it all for 20 cents each! And the wreaths were usually $40 down to $16 down to $5 (after a bit of ‘how low$ can you go) it was $3. ^^ Yes we don’t need another 3 wreaths but for $3 each I really didn’t see why not. The house will be 3x more festive next year!

  16. Eric says:

There was nothing open here and all our money was spent on Christmas, so nada.

  17. hl says:

$200 price adjustment on TV from Costco.ca, so just called in didn’t have to go anywhere

  18. ryandtysmom says:

Bought some bath sets at half price at SDM but I was happiest about a pair of Scotch brand scissors for $2.29. Funny what you find joy in when you are getting old!!!

  19. Jerry says:

I bought an upright freezer from Sears online.

  20. Jessica says:

Like others said…the prices weren’t even that great, and the stuff on sale was generally the crap no one else wanted. Definitely saw better sales before Christmas

  21. Lisa says:

Nothing much – went out to get some on sale essentials like diapers after the rush had gone down at walmart but I agree with everyone else – the sales just aren’t that great anymore. There seems to be just as good deals throughout the year now.

  22. Olivercat says:

I really planned a no shopping day, but as my tv died Christmas Day, I was off to town. Got a 42″ Lg at walmart (no bestbuy or futureshop close). The 50″ was out of stock 5 minutes after they opened! Just as well, the 42″ fits into to my “Kraft Dinner” budget. Merry Christmas!

  23. Sparkles says:

I didn’t even bother to go Boxing Day shopping this year. First time in 20 years!! Didn’t really need anything so there was no point going out just to buy stuff I wasn’t going to use!

  24. Victorialm says:

    Christmas cards at RCSS!

  25. Heather says:

Bought a sweater at Jacob for 50% off but was surprised to hear it was final sale at the check out. Ah well. Also bought some wrapping paper, Christmas cards, and gift tags at 50% off at Wal-Mart later in the day. Was Shocked how quiet it was around 3pm there… The sales really didn`t attract too many people I guess.

  26. Stephanie says:

Didn’t leave the house, but got a fridge from sears, $100 worth of stuff from old navy, and a tv from walmart (but that was the 24th though so does it count?)

  27. torontogal12 says:

The Eaton Centre in Toronto was manageable, it was the subway that was awful. Bought a silk scarf at The Bay but only because I’ve been eyeing it and it was marked clearance and I was already there. They had tons so there’ll be more in January for sure. Lacklustre prices and I wasn’t fighting the lines to get into some stores. EB Games had lines. And tons of teenagers lining up outside Abercrombie and Hollister. And of course they had a half naked 15 year old outside that store. Exploitation

  28. mojo says:

I did not even bother. The sales are never great, it’s always way to crazy and I just got everything I needed for christmas and then some.

  29. Rene says:

I was in the States for Boxing day this year.. My greatest purchase was a beautiful leather jacket for $85. It’ll be great piece for my clothing collection. I also got a gorgeous cardigan from Forever 21 for $4!!

  30. Lily says:

    Let’s see:
    *Cookie sheet
    *Gorilla glue
    *Snow pants
    *Tea from Davids Tea
    *Godiva chocolate bar
    *Cereal
    *Box of K-cups

…All for less than $5. (And using coupons and promos). Boxing Day was not really worth waking up early for, but at least I avoided most of the crowds before it got bad. (Heard and seen some accidents on the roads…)

  31. Sue says:

Tried the sales thing once. Years ago. And thought WTF am I doing? There is nothing I need (NEED) bad enough to bother with the crowds and eternal lack of selection/poor value. Wish it was all shut down on the 26th. Guess if you give or receive only money for Christmas, then the whole boxing day thing might make sense. Find January has better sales value if there’s something we absolutely need.

  32. adora says:

Bought “Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale” from Best Buy at half price. Wanted to shop more at the mall but the place was full of sociopaths. People were parking at loading dock, fire lanes, blocking exits… A woman ran me over with her stroller, over BOTH of my feet! (How do you do that? 90 degrees towards someone at 10 miles per hour with a stroller?) My right eye is blind, so she really got me. Also knock my birthday cake sideways, so it was damaged. Looks terrible. No apologies, no remorse! She looked at me like it was my bad. Her husband had shock in his face, but didn’t dare to say anything. He stills want to have sex with her, I suppose. Their kids looked at me like she was right. They are raising sociopaths.
Hate shopping sales. The lower the prices, the more aggressive the customers. I left after I got the game and the cake. What a way to start my birthday. This is why I hate my birthday! 🙁

  33. adora says:

I agree with Sue, I’m no longer going to the mall for Boxing Day from now on. My problem was that it’s my birthday, and I need a cake. Next year, I’ll just buy one on 23rd and leave it in the fridge.

  34. jasmyn says:

I went out boxing day hoping to find some sales because i start my new job at target in january and need to buy khaki pants and red tops for it. I got to the mall a bit after 9:30 ( my boyfriend works at the mall and started at 10 so I hitched a ride) The mall was already busy but I was working with a limited budget so I went on anyways.
I started at Forever 21 knowing it would get busier… I managed to find 2 shirts and a blazer in red…I got 1 shirt for full price because I liked it that much (21.80) and got the others for 5.49 and 8.49 plus some cute studded flats for 7.99. I had a mall giftcard for 50$ and a few cents on a store credit card so i managed to have 1.23 left. I returned a bottle of perfume I got as a gift at the bay and managed to get 2 dresses for 14.40 and 12.95 plus a pair of skinny khaki pants for 15.60 🙂 I still have almost 30.00 left on my card as well. I then finished at aeropostale by returning a henley( i dont know why my mother-in-law gets me stuff from here since im 24) I managed to get a pair plain grey leggings and a grey leopard long sleeve shirt for 8.00 and 10.00 and got back about .78 in change. I also used my stamp card at starbucks and got a free grande gingerbread latte and used my coupon for free dove mousse at shoppers. I also picked up 2 christmas hello kitty plushies for 2.50 each at carlton cards since I’m now addicted to buying anything hello kitty which I used a prepaid visa my mom gave me. I was about to leave and got pulled into forever 21 again and got a lipgloss for 1.80 and a cream blazer for 8.99 which left my visa card with about .50 on it 😀 all in all I was happy I used no real money and got a few free things and still have some money on my bay card.

  35. FatB says:

    This year I got:
    -an all in one printer
    -SD memory cards
    -sweater & trenchcoat
-more memory cards plus a USB drive
    -an Autoart diecast model

All done online, so no fuss at all. I’m not fighting the crowds unless I have to get a TV in person.

  36. Cathy says:

I went to banana republic and got everything on clearance with an additional 50% and then an additional 10%. So I got 21 items for $177 🙂 I also went to Tommy hilfiger and bought some v necks that were additional 70%off the lowest ticketed price so I got them for $5.09 plus an additional 15% off. I also went to carters and osh kosh bgosh and bought some pjs for my lil one for $2.99 with an additional 20%off 🙂

  37. cami says:

This was my first ever boxing day sale and i was actually quite disappointed. It definitely wan’t worth all the hustle and bustle .
I got some earring from Mappings
A shirt and belt from Gap
Some shirts from old navy( 30 min cashier line up an all )

  38. lisa says:

My hubby went to best buy as he needed a new phone (his plan was ready to expire). So he got his phone for free, got 180.00 in gift cards. Presented the flyer for future shop, got a game for 20.00 with the purchase of the xbox 360 bundle that the kids wanted (which included 2 other games, and then bought another game for 39.99. So all in, the xbox 360 bundle 250 gig system, and 4 games (including assassins creed 3 and halo 4) for 106.00 instead of the 350.00 price pre christmas. We have taught our kids about coupons and sales so they were fine to wait until 1 day post christmas:) and he has the exact new phone he wanted with a reduction in monthly rates.
all in all successful I think:)
